Hey there! My name's Nekochi. I've been lurking around the forum for a little while now reading the various Let's Plays for otome games. As I also love otome games, I wanted to create my first Let's Play for the game, Frozen Essence. The art isn't always the best, but it's still one of my favorite games because the story is really great! Plus it's free and you just gotta love free, right? Here's the official summery of the game: "In a world balanced by essence, you play as a girl who is unsealed from her crystal prison. Without a memory of her own, how will she get by? Will she find love? Things get more complicated as she learns that there are those that fear her dark power. With the guidance and protection from the oracle within her realm, her journey begins." I'll just leave that up there and let everything else unfold as the Let's Play goes along. :3 I'm now taking suggestions for the name of our heroine (the default is Mina) and in the next few posts I'll give the options of the various guys we can choose so you can vote on whose path your would like to do first. I've played the whole game before and just so you know, my favorite guys are ranked like this: Secret Guy -> Varian and Caius -> Aurelius and Rune By the way, in case you want to play the game yourself, you can find the link here.
Here's the first guy, Rune! He's the canon option and maybe that's why I just don't like him quite as much as some of the other choices. Serious and dependable, this guy's a bit mysterious and none too trusting. He can be a bit of a prick at times too, but he's sweet deep down. He's one of the body guards here to protect our Protag-chan, but he seems to have his own reasons for doing so.
Your second choice, Caius! He may be one of your body guards, Caius is definitely in it for himself! He's a sadist. Don't fool yourself, it's going to take a lot of abuse from him before you get him to be caring. But when you do, he is rather rewarding. Plus, it's a lot of fun to watch chaotic evil guys.
Third: Aurelius! A player and a smooth operator, Aurelius will treat you like a princess, but you won't be the only one.
Welcome! I love this game. I really hated Varian's route. We went after Z-ImeanSecret and Caius in Donmai's and I believe Rune in Edelweiss's...eh, sure, I vote for Varian because although it's unsatisfactory, I liked Aurelius's less.
Sorry it took me so long to post this again! Anyway... Option 4! Varian! Varian is a bit emotionally unavailable because of reasons. It's going to take some work to defrost this ice prince, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Also, seeing him was enough to make me regret that I was already romancing Caius on my first playthrough.
Aurelius is the sexiest 2D fictional indie game character and nobody can convince me otherwise. ... Oh, and I vote for naming the protagonist "..."! :D Who's on first~ What's on second~ ...'s on third~
Option 5 is the secret guy! Not only is he sexy as hell, but he's kind, caring, and has been waiting for you and protecting you for a long, long time. Plus his route always makes me cry. Need I say more?
Your final option is the heroine herself! This isn't a romantic route, but they're pretty fun all the same and you can make several people your bitches. >D
Okay, so the votes are pretty close between Aurelius, the secret guy, and the heroine. But since a lot of the beginning of the game is the same on either path, let's do this thing. I kinda think that any drug that leads you to is pretty awesome. I can't help being biased; he's so fantastic. I mean, ahem, drugs are bad, kiddoes (and alas, they won't usually lead you to gorgeous guys in cloaks).
