Okay, I finally catch up.
I'm not sure I would give Koichi a cookie for being a decent human being, his defense of Lysa is "Well, I came home late, so she comes late too! (Otherwise she wouldn't, it's not like she has a job!).
So dunno. It's an improvement.

Dear Koichi's mom:

This is one of the points in which Koichi does much better than he was depicted in other routes: his defense of Lysa's desire to continue her career rather than emulate his mother's idea of what a wife should do. His failures in other areas notwithstanding, he is at least pretty consistent about this in his route.

It's always like this all the time. He acts like the perfect husband when other people are over, but acts like a the standoffish loner behind closed doors. I would SO WANT an explanation out of this guy. Judging from my experience with shoujo/otome stories, the reason will be something along the lines of "Oh I don't want to make you feel trapped by this marriage, so you should have your own free time". That's what he's been saying all along, right? "Go have your own time". "Go enjoy yourself". "Why don't you go out with friends". The idea is that because the marriage is arranged, let's have it be an open one and each partner can go do whatever the flip they want, so long as it's covert from other people. Then in front of others, they should act like everything is perfect.

Woulda been awesome if you EXPLAIN IT PROPERLY TO YOUR POOR WIFE WHO WANTS THE MARRIAGE TO WORK NORMALLY, ASSHAT. I can't think of any reason off the top of my head just why he needs to lie to his wife about it other than "I don't want to hurt your feelings/shame you to know that I'm seeing someone else. I was afraid that this route was about Lysa changing herself to become the MAXIMUM HOUSEWIFE, by quitting her job, not seeing her friends anymore, dedicating 100% of her time to the house, etc; Rather than standing up for herself and making Koichi realize the errors of his ways through communication, so they both can help salvage this wreck of a marriage. Or something.
I guess we still don't know how this route will turn out to be, though?

Also, trufax when my dad started travelling for work and we still had family dinners we would sit a jar of salsa on his place mat when he wasn't there and pretend it was him and joke about taping his picture to it. Maybe Lysa did the same but with the cheapest, worst bottle of Tequila she could find so that way she wasn't eatting dinner alone? Who am I kidding Lysa waits til that jerk gets home to be told they won't be dining together.

And the family of hard liquer and wine doesn't judge Lysa for continuing her career and not immediately popping out babies. It's also there for her when her dick of a husband isn't. Clearly the liquer family is the true supportive family.
