Let's Play! Juniper's Knot: Let's go on an adventure!

Hello beautiful people of BrokenForum! Juniper here with my very first Let's Play! I'm sorry if this Let's Play isn't as well done as others but I will try.

I decided to play Juniper's Knot because the resolution and soundtrack for this game is awesome. ^_^

This is a blind play through because I think it will be fun.

When I first open the app I am greeted with a beautiful screen. Which no one can see because my iPad is being very stupid. //sob.


Juniper begins to explain the area around her and how it is very dull and broken. She then begins to talk of how lonely she is.


I personally think she should move to Hawaii I hear it's beautiful there.



That explains it.


Juniper then starts to sit around a fire and tastes the soil around it. Apparently it's barren. Oh, and it seems likes she's going to be stuck there forever.



what?




Oh no honey that's probably the barren soil talking.





Friend... They look the same.

Welcome to you, fellow Mary-avatar! And might I say this looks absolutely gorgeous so far! I can't wait to see what our darling Juniper gets up to.

I love this game so much. It's too bad that the lovely music can't be conveyed through a text LP.

Excited for your first love already Juniper? Honestly I think you just eat whatever comes because you've been eating barren soil for what seems like a while. I think you could get some chicken.

There went my HEART because it's an iPod app, and my iPod nano isn't about to support any apps bigger than card games. And not of the children's variety, either. D:

Juniper and first impressions

I would be dead scared if someone were to introduce themselves that way but I guess barren soil and being locked up for a while can do that to you.

Well, so far she's doing better than Os.

My favourite part of this game was the GUI. Look at how sexy it is :Q Everything about it was very polished as well and I especially liked how it was structured.

This one is a Kinetic Novel though, just as a heads up.

Poor guy you scared the Bejesus out of him.



His face is pretty solid for someone who to me sounds pretty freaked out.

Juniper asks him to tell her one of these stories and he replies by saying:



Don't take that Juniper! Show him who's the demon!



Don't compromise! Make him stay!



... You're really bad at this.

She has horns. I mean I'm surprised the boy didn't run when he had the chance.

I sure would've.

Oh wow, for a free game, the art is really good.
Honey, please tell me that dress isn't the only thing you've been wearing these past centuries.

I'm pretty sure telling him that you're going to take his soul isn't going to help much on that front, Juniper.

This looks pretty cool, do we romance anyone or is the narrative more plot driven?

And yeah, the fact that a free game has such beautiful art is mindblowing.

It's a Kinetic Novel, so no choices are involved.

I like how they did the dialogue with the little speech bubbles. That's an awesome idea.

Also seconding Nebty, the music in this game is great, and people should download it just for that.

I played this game Monday and I'm still having feels over it.

The soundtrack. The goddamn soundtrack. Get on my iTunes list.

Just. This whole game is beautiful. I can't wait to see more from this team!

So we're off to continue our adventure! Juniper is still trying to convince him to tell her a story when he asks why she says:



OMG THAT FACE!! Jesus woman, if he doesn't want you. I'll take you.

It kind of bothers me that they haven't even asked each other for their names yet.

So the young man starts to tell Juniper about a cobbler ( a person who fixes shoes as a job) and he had nothing to eat. He apparently didn't have a girl and it made him real sad.



I feel a life story coming on.



A lover to be exact.

I... He will continue.

So the cobbler was walking down an alley and he met this man and he looks very suspicious. But apparently this cobbler is a sales man and asks the man if he wants his shoes fixed.



I agree. But young Juniper he needed the work.



I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK GIRL!

On with the story.

The cloaked man didn't have shoes but he said he could use a new pair. Obviously this guy doesn't know what a cobbler is so the man says he can't make shoes. The cloaked man is either very rude or partially deaf and he repeated his need for some shoes. The cobbler is nice and says he can get them if the guy is sick.

The cloaked man decides that he would do something in return if the cobbler got him some shoes. The cobbler asks what and the cloaked man says... 'Perhaps anything.'


Now this is where I step back from the iPad and talk to myself. If he could supposedly do anything for the cobbler why doesn't he just get shoes for himself? Hmmm..? Now I realize that this is going nowhere and tell the iPad to tell the cobbler to run.



Cuddle!

So the cobbler gets sassy and says the cloaked man probably can't and walks away.

I have this strange feeling the fucker is going to die.





My spidey senses are tingling.



As the the dumbass cobbler keeps walking he continues to see cloaked men. That is extremely hot or extremely scary. The cobbler asks if the man wants his shoes done and of course the cloaked man says he has none. The cobbler senses danger and says he better get moving, but the cloaked man won't hear it. He tells him what?

HE NEEDS NEW SHOES.




So the cobbler keeps walking and he can't find the end of the alley and he keeps seeing the cloaked man. On the eighth time the man stops to talk to the cloaked man.


Not 1. Not 2. Not 5. But 8.

This is driving me crazy with excitement.





Juniper a brother perhaps?

The cobbler asks the man why he needs new shoes for. The cloaked man says anything. The cobbler apparently knows what the guy already wants (his soul) because he is a fiend.

Juniper asks him if he thinks she's done the same thing the other fiend did. Apparently he doesn't think she did.

Oh god, this game. THE FEELS.

Seriously, everyone with an iOS device go and download it right now. RIGHT NOW. If you don't have one go make friends with someone who does.

It's also out for windows.

Well then nobody has any excuse.

Great art, soundtrack and UI. Writing is the weakest link in this little package and it's not half-bad either.

And it's out for Mac and Linux, too.

There is no excuse.

Now let's get to the end of the story (boy I still don`t knows name). I've been waiting months for this!




Foolish cobbler he wants your soul not some Flea Market pair of tennis shoes. Juniper looks just as excited as I am.




I don't know why these characters insist on not listening to their common sense (me) granted I would do the same in that situation but c'mon!

Is she actually named Juniper? I always thought she was just referred to as the Fiend.

By the way, thanks for LP'ing this; I remember seeing this thread back when it first started and downloaded Juniper's Knot and really enjoyed it :)
