I wasn't all that broken up over it since I didn't enjoy Takuto's route all that much. I actually ended up liking him a lot better in Riki's route than in his own.

But not enough more to prefer him to Riki.

And neither of them are as good as Kenshi.

Takuto was my favorite route. I picked him first and fell in love, love love. I about died from heartbreak when I played Riki's route.

I could spend entire days kicking playboy's butts.. with my special shoes

I agree. The love triangle thing sucks. Especially when we went after the douch nozzle and sweet little Takuto has to get his heart broken.

Dang it, this route. THIS ROUTE. I've gotten to the point where I started making up a story based sort of on this game, but it does a LOT of things differently than this game.

So yeah. Lots of words there to say PROTAG-CHAN WOULD BE A SOMEWHAT MENTALLY DISTURBED CYBORG.

I'll just be here waiting for Boss's route to hit Android. I have this GooglePlay card and it's like they don't even want my money.

According to Voltage's Facebook page, Boss's route has been out on Android since January 24th.

I just checked my Android device and I can confirm that the route is available.

Still no Tatsuro, though, so I must continue to mope in the corner.

Takuto: Riki was just being nice to you, wasn't he? He always goes out of his way for no reason.
Sari: He is really thoughtful...
Takuto: The sun's too bright. It hurts my eyes.

Takuto asks if she's mad about how he used to think that she's an amateur and "just a curator" and basically just a pain in his ass.
She says no and she understands how nobody would want to get caught and arrested because of her.

Sari: I just really like art so I became a curator. I just lead a normal life.



Sari: An old lady??
Takuto: I mean, you're just not like most young girls...you seem like the kind of person who likes fruit cake.
Sari: I do like fruit cake, but I like normal sweets too!
Sari: (He's smiling after hearing I like sweets, is he really a softie??)
Takuto: Then I'll buy you some.


They approach an ice cream stand.

Sari: Oh my goodness! This green tea ice cream is delicious!!


Sari: Only sophisticated people eat this.
Takuto: What the hell is sophisticated about it?
Sari: (He bought me ice cream, and the two of us are walking side by side....this is like a date.)
Takuto: I guess it's nice to walk in the sun once in awhile. It's more fun than I thought it would be.
Sari: (I can really relax around Takuto. It's so different than with Riki)
Takuto: Riki has a business dinner tonight. He will probably be pretty drunk when he comes home.
Sari: I hope he doesn't get hungover before the mission...



Sari: What?
Takuto: He has a bad habit....
Sari: What kind of bad habit??
Takuto: ...You'll just have to see for yourself. It's really irritating.

I gotta say, there is an odd dissonance in seeing hate for Riki's playboy ways followed up so immediately by love for Takuto while he complains repeatedly about having to spend time with the protagonist.

It's now the middle of the night and Sari is waiting for Riki to get home. She can't sleep cause she's just so darn anxious about him getting home.



Sari: (I hear something coming from outside the door)




Boss: Hey RIki, can you walk?
Riki: Noooooooo, I can't.
Sari:(What's up with that sweet voice?)
Boss: Watch where you're walking.



Sari: Huh?!
Riki collapses on the bed and hugs her tightly.
Sari: Hey Riki!
Riki: Ohhhh......I'm drunk....
Sari: Yes, I can see that. (What should I do? I can't move.) Riki.....RIKI!!!
Riki falls asleep. Just as his arms relax around her, she tries to slip out of bed.
Riki shoots up and grabs her arm.



Sari: (Is he a violent drunk??)



Boss: When Rikis drunk, he acts like a spoiled little baby. But his ego is still intact as you see.
Riki: Sari!!!
Riki pushes Sari down on the bed.
Boss: This happens all the time. He's completely harmless, so just go along with it.
-Shall we assume that this happens all the time and Boss is usually the one being pinned to the bed?? No wonder he's telling us to go with it...
Sari: This is harmless??!



Sari: Um, what do you think he's doing right now?!
Boss: Listen, I'm getting old, so I'm pretty sleepy. So you take care of the rest. See ya!
Sari: (He ran away.....)
Riki: Ugh.......I feel sick.........water....
Sari: You want some water?!
Riki: WATER!!!
Sari grabs a bottle of water and puts it up to Rikis mouth.
-Am I the only one hoping she whacks him in the face with it? What a whiney drunk....
Riki drinks the water and plops his head down on her thigh.

He closes his eyes.




Sari strokes his hair. He suddenly grabs her hand.
Riki: .....hurts
Sari: What hurts?
Riki: Take off my tie.
Sari: Oh, ok...
She removes his tie with clumsy hands.

Takuto has the approach of a kindergardener pulling the pig-tails of the girl he likes. It's childish and awkward, but also kind of cute. His teasing may come across a bit harsh but it isn't cruel and Sari sasses him right back, which is great.

As for Riki, well.... let me say it with booze.



(Except the beer really is pretty good. Riki has yet to show his tasty side. (¬д¬))

I think it's basically how its interpreted by the reader.
To me, Riki seems like he looks down on MC and just comes off as an asshole most of the time. A tool, one might say.
Takuto complains and is sarcastic, and being sarcastic myself, I see it as more playful. Saying she's like an old lady liking fruitcake is something I'd say, so I relate to it more and think it's cute/flirtatious.

That's just my opinion of course and why I love some Takuto.

I only have an iPod Touch, too, but the games work just fine on it. You need to have a Wifi connection open, though. Otherwise the games will crash.

Really? Usually voltage games give me this warning about how I need a SIM card or else it'll crash but yayy I'll give it a shot :3

Tak-kun seems so different here, less complete asshole. I kinda dig it but wonder when he'll swing back to asshole or if this is all a ruse of some nature (this is what the Koichi route in IYAT has done to me). I could like him if he stays with the playful sarcastic thing.

But since this is Riki's route (making me start to fall for the guy who's route I'm not on wat)... Yeah I don't find his drunken antics cute at all. I know some people who are affectionate drunks and it can be kawaii and what not but this is just so whiny. And when added to his arrogant dickishness he's really made me very meh towards him. On his own route. Bravo, Riki.

I wasn't impressed by Riki being a clingy, whiny drunk either - although I was much less impressed by Atsumu so casually leaving him to glom all over the protagonist. Good thing he really is harmless in this state.

Riki did win me over as the route went on, though.

I don't know, maybe I can't really dislike or be bothered by Riki right now because I have played his whole route already and KNOW what's to come and how he changes later on! When I first played the route I also did not like him very much in the first few chapters but that changed later on and he really made me like him. And I still (even right now when he is still kind of an arrogant jerk most of the time) very much prefer him to Takuto and his constant whining and complaining, wheter it be on his own route or on Riki's (or one of the others). That whole "I don't want to do this, this is such a pain, why me, whine whine whine" is just making me roll my eyes and go thinking Oh please, cry me a river! Still, both of them have, imho, nothing on Kenshi – or Tatsuro .. and you know, Tatsuro's route isn't even out yet (and if it isn't as good as I imagine it to be I'm gonna cry) ;)

And uh yeah .. decision time. I don't really know .. if we ignore him, he'll just keep whining, and as we do not have the option to tell him to shut up and go to sleep let's go with B and help him undress if he can't do it himself anymore so that maybe THEN he will stop whining and go to sleep. (Also I know that feel – when you are drunk and undressing seems to be an impossible task .. it's why I wake up in the morning on my bed fully clothed even with shoes and everything still on sometimes, sooo .. :P)

These are all my feelings exactly, right down to the Tatsuro, come to my bosom! \o/

I'll be interested to see if Riki manages to win over anyone in the forum, especially since a good few people commenting seem presidposed toward Takuto, but I really can't hold his snobbery against him too much given how much of it is smokescreen.

..... Ahg... Riki.... I just... I babysat an 8 year old with some slight mental retardation and he was less whiney than this... And I'm voting A. because we are not playing along with this you will stop or we will smack you until you're sober.

I say B maybe he'll be quiet if you just do it. I bet he'd whine more with the other 2 options.

Minor point of contention: that he has gotten drunk, and is annoying when he's drunk, does not make Riki a drunkard. Particularly not in Japan where business culture still apparently involves a ton of social drinking on the order of "if someone pours you a drink you're expected to drink it," from what I can tell.

If I recall right, in Japan when you're at a dinner, it's impolite to pour your drink yourself, especially alcohol. So when the person next to you notice that your glass is empty, they fill it for you. They can also fill your glass even when it's almost full to ask you to fill theirs.
I don't know if it can apply in this situation, but it can explain why Japanese can often end so drunk they fall asleep on the road.
Just like pictured in this (Sorry the article is in French, but all it says is that it's not uncommon, early in the morning, to see drunk people sleeping in odd places.)
