That was part of the reason I delved into her inner thoughts here. I usually go easy on those and have the conversation with the love interest myself with my own thoughts and paraphrased things that Hitomi says. In order to explain why she was being so unreasonable here though I felt I had to go into her head.

Yet is stupid, it's feel so OOC, but is the writer fault that want to create some stupid drama.

*Facepalm* no is because the writer suck.

I dunno, yes it may be a weakness of the writer, but I think it is easily forgotten that Hitomi is like 16. I know I was completely stupid when I was 16 too. Go back to me at 14 and I don't even want to talk about it.
  4. Zelipzo Armchair Designer

Nope sorry, Hitomi went from capable and enjoyable protagonist to a little brat from the silly excuse that "she is in love".

I don't think she's being that bratty, really. She could be monopolizing his time, completely refusing to speak to him "just because", spreading rumors about him, causing trouble for him on purpose so he'll spend time with her, etc., etc. Instead she's trying to contain what she knows is unreasonable behavior and avoid saying rude/cruel/nonsensical/overemotional things to him, which I respect. You can't control how you feel about things and it can be really difficult to figure out how to "fix" a situation like this, especially when you are 16 years old and in love with your teacher/nurse/whatever who has a mysterious ex-girlfriend that suspiciously wants to get back together with him (apparently) and asked you to be the messenger.

    It's a weird situation. U:
  6. Zelipzo Armchair Designer

Her attitude remembered me to my little cousin when she was 12, so yes she was a little brat in my eyes, lets hope that this drama doesn't extend into something to melodramatic ^^U

Also if I'm harsh with the writer, is because I have see the same scene like over and over! V/N nowadays are the same :(

Make that shoujo material in general. I think they handled this scene pretty well. Hitomi is pretty mature (shown through her awareness and attempt to calm herself so that she doesn't trouble anybody) but she's still young (thus the cliched scene).
  9. Zelipzo Armchair Designer

I know I just hate the whole forced drama *sigh*, I like sensei but I dislike his route, oh well I still have Toru-kun cute route~

Love makes you do stupid things, including being mean to the person you're in love with. Heck, that's entirely how tsunderes operate.
I don't blame Hitomi. Really, it's the ex-girlfriend's fault for deciding to play the "conniving bitch" card.
"You like Ryu-sensei? Great, go tell him I want him back."
    BITCH PLEASE
  11. Zelipzo Armchair Designer

That is why I dislike tsunderes :/

Anyway my opinions will not change, sorry people. Also I will stop talking about it ^^U
  12. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

Miki tossing the "Hey, go tell him for me." card was exactly when I stopped feeling sorry for her. It's okay if she thinks she made a mistake dumping him and wants him back, but to deliberately cut Hitomi into it just to hurt her is pretty much just stupid evil and trying to bully her into giving him up.

As for what follows, I think watching Sons and Daughters for fun has desensitized me to forced drama. "YOU WON'T SLEEP WITH ME BECAUSE YOU THINK I'M TOO YOUNG, WELL I JUST SAW YOU HOLDING YOUR EX-GIRLFRIEND LIKE SHE'D TRIPPED JUST BEFORE I ENTERED, WELL I'LL START DRINKING AND WHORING SO YOU'LL LOVE ME AGAIN BECAUSE YOU CLEARLY LOVE BAD GIRLS AND ALSO I DON'T WANT YOU BACK!"

After that teenagers being teenagers really lose their fwoosh, though I felt like Gertrude did back there. "Hitomi, I know you're upset, but I want a choice here to guide you. Can I? No. Keep going? Why yes."
  13. Zelipzo Armchair Designer

    That sound like a telenovela~

It's Australian and the soapiest soap of soap I ever saw. If telenovelas are anything like that I am staying clear of them XD. I quickly reached the point where the characters were being so stupid and drama-seeking it wasn't even funny, it was annoying.
  16. Flonne Already Beat BF's New Expansion

It sounds like such poetic justice that sensei will most likely go " I don't want you back." to Miki when he's the one having two girls who want to be with him.

Back on topic, well... Hitomi is a lot more level-headed than I was at 16, so I really can't criticize her.

Telenovelas are mostly of time terrible shit that only rots people brain! they are sexist, romanticize the abuse and rape(and rape almost always end in pregnancy, and the woman decide or she is forced to have the baby and marry the rapist), there is always a rival(s) that is/are a insufferable bitch(es)(and sometime the rival will try to kill the protagonist just for a man).
  20. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

A groanworthy one but serves purpose. Those strips of paper each have a pun.
  21. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

Yeah, that's way worse than Sons and Daughters. The worst I saw there was a woman who had lost her boyfriend to cancer who then seduced a guy, slept with him, and then when she got pregnant, tried to ignore him because she said this was her dead boyfriend's baby. He was about to propose when she tossed that at him. Then they stayed together for the baby's sake, but she treated him like shit and flirted with another guy who was doing it deliberately to piss off the baby's father because he was an asshole. Then when she misscarried her first comment was "WELL, AT LEAST NOW HE CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO ANYMORE." and we were clearly meant to feel sorry for her only - that's certainly what every other character did.

Personally I plugged that as another plotline proving this took place in a world with no trauma counselling.

  37. OtomeGamer Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I've been lurking on this forum for awhile, and I'd just like to say that Takashi isn't that bad. He's a really sweet guy, and I'd rather date him than an asshole (*cough* Ren and Masaki). I guess I'm weird like that :/

And yes, I played Love Revo/Girlish Love Revolution BECAUSE of Takashi Onii-chan. Yes everyone, there is a FICTIONAL incest route. Oh my god the world is ending. That was the only reason I was even interested in the game. I was kind of pissed that they made you play someone else's route in order to get to him. I don't care what the rest of y'all think, but I thought his romance route was the best out of all the routes, and that final CG rocked (and the ear-biting CG was awkwardly drawn, but conceptually hot). Remember, it's a fictional game (for those of you who go "ewwwww" at teacherxstudent and sibling romances and can't handle the fact that love is love). Sorry if I sound mean, I'm just tired of people dissing Takashi because he's your brother. He's not a rapist. He's not abusive. Play an R+18 Otome game if you don't know what I'm getting at. I've played false incest routes (step-sibling) where the step-brother was a rapist (Kuro to Kin) or total yandere (you know who you are; dude, locking the protag up in a cage? WTF ~_-) or both. So is it better because at least they're not blood-related? No, I didn't find those routes romantic at all, but I did for Takashi because he's not...that. Pretend he's Hitomi's step-brother if you have to. Every statement he made had to have an innuendo apparently, and a disgusting/"creepy" one according to this board. If you remember, this is a translation of the original; sometimes the connotations of the statements aren't translated well at all. The seiyuu for him just damn rocks and his voice is AWESOME. I don't mind if you liked other guys' route more, I just prefer that people stop sounding super judgemental about his route. Just once, I'd like authors to not feel like they have to censor certain aspects of their story in order to appeal to the masses. Fiction has already caved in (no happy sibling romance-not even step-siblings, people die or deformed babies are born, etc.), but I'd thought the anime/gaming industry was more progressive than that and would at least tolerate different views on things. I mean, we tolerate furries, objectophiia, and bestiality (with birds who decapitate the protag), but mutually consensual romantic incest is a no-go? C'mon.

If none of you want Onii-chan, I'll take him :D

Anyway, rant over. I'm not the confrontational type but just wanted to give my two cents.

Surprisingly, I didn't like Kaede much...thought his storyline lacked something in terms of realism, but I didn't hate it either. It was just okay. Maybe because I wanted to the protag to slap Yurika and didn't happen, my expectiations were not satisfied.

The route I did to get to Takashi's route was Wakatsuki-sensei because he seemed to be the only one I could stand. The others were just "popular" and seemed like they had a stick up their asses (except Souta the Shouta and maybe Kennosuke). Yeah, I totally wanted Hitomi to make moves on Sensei back (just let us see his reaction once!), but...maybe the writers thought it would ruin her naive image?

Back on tangent: You're Beautiful was good, but have you tried Greatest Love? Dokko Jin and Yoon Pil Joo are pure win. Oh, and Queen Inhyun's Man made me want to cry rivers at all the angst.
  38. videetcredere Already Beat BF's New Expansion

OtomeGamer, I can understand where you're coming from. But for me, it's NOT because he's her brother, his actions just genuinely creep me out. Coming from any other guy in the game they would equally creep me out because I simply find them creepy. It's not really anything about the blood relation, it's how he behaves.

And yes, Queen Inhyun's Man really is very good. I need to finish it. I need to finish so many things god.

Moody's Point is the greatest drama of all time and nobody can convince me otherwise. The characters are just so deep that I don't even mind when a shocking swerve comes out of nowhere! They just handle everything so realistically and I was soooo mad when it got cancelled sobsobsob did Spaulding and Moody ever get together?! Did Moody's father ever get a new big toe?! The suspense!

    ...
And yeah mostly creeped out by Takashi's obsession with Hitomi than their blood relation~ If he was like my older brother I wouldn't mind as much because my big brother is infinitely less creepy and incredibly awesome and so completely cool and would probably tell me to man up and stalk my crushes myself because he can't do everything for me and big brother is the best <3 ... ... ... Wait, where was I going with this again?
  40. OtomeGamer Already Beat BF's New Expansion

My creep radar works differently than your guys', I guess. I don't understand why you think he's creepy. Although I question his choice of friends, I don't think he's awful and creepy. Some of you have mentioned the feeding thing, but I think that's due him believing that Hitomi really is cheered up with more food. When she said, "NO, I want to diet," he got the message and started to support her. I wouldn't consider him a feeder; it's not like he suddenly chained her up and force-fed her through an IV drip. When Hitomi pretended she was going to confess to a guy, I was so mad at her because seeing sad!Takashi made me angst and I just couldn't-WHY, Hitomi?!

The fact that Satoshi said he rejected everything to be with her could be considered romantic...but in the after ending, he did get a job, so clearly he didn't give up his own life completely for her. You probably wouldn't like Sugar Family (the male lead's "obsessed" with the female lead, but I found him adorkable).

In contrast, when Kaede said something like, "I would die for you bb," and threatened to kill (maybe both her and the other guy) if she fell in love with another guy, I just went: ಠ_ಠ Do Not Want. It brought up memories of this:

    Now that's obssession.

As for K-Dramas, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (No Min Woo would be considered creepy, but A LOT of people liked him), Personal Preference and Oh My Lady are good too, but in the latter one, I actually liked the second male lead better (I-I'm not an oyajicon, okay? Even though I totally liked Gowland's route in Heart no Kuni..)

I've never watched and will continue to never watch 49 Days...why would you do that to yourself? I read the summaries and it's already so freaking sad.
