It's actually the only cute picture I have saved that isn't of my friend's kitten, so I'm defaulting to it whenever I need instant cute. I'm glad it works as intended ^^

Well, so much for lurker mode. Now I feel obliged to share pictures of my cats (spoilered for size):

Suki look a hell of a lot like one of the siblings of my friend's kitten. His genes confuse me, though. Mommy is a big, fluffy, murky green-eyed black cat with white belly, paws and snout, his siblings and he aren't fluffy (no one knows who their father is), but he...

I mean JUST LOOK AT HIM. Can someone explain to me how the genetics fit and how a mix breed can look so much like a specific race cat when his mother and siblings look nothing like him. He's even the only one with blue eyes.

Not a mark against him, he's one of the sweetest, smartest kittens I ever met (I can absolutely understand why my friend adores him), and he's a very handsome cat, but I cannot fathom how he can look so little like the rest of his family. There was a big, fluffy grey kitten in his litter, too, and at least three different eye colours.

For reference, here he is with a sibling while he was younger.

Actually, cats in the same litter can have different fathers. My cats Aqua and Cosmo are both color-points from the same litter, but the runt of their litter was a little grey kitten who looked nothing like them. It's not that uncommon with cats.

And then you can go on adventures with them! It's not the same. But better than nothing. And now I'm missing Frederick, I've had this laptop on my lap for hours and no Emperor of the Apartment to come sit directly between my hands and the keyboard and demand love. If only I didn't travel so much.
