Another chapter of Koi Dano Ai Dano came out today~ I really like this shoujo (both female and male leads). I consider this a more "healthy" relationship (and the girl brilliant). The guy rarely forces anything on her to the extreme of Hot Gimmick and all those other sexual assult romances you see in the smuttier shoujo.

I read that her editors at the publishing company were rather... Abusive with her and a few other mandakas working for them. Let's just say there was a lot of tweaking and forced changes and really ridiculous work schedules pushed onto her.

Damn, that sucks. Made her cry? Being a mangaka is supposed to be an awesome job, not the role of a peon being tormented by superiors. I will note that, however, Asian countries often impress longer working hours and, in general, workers have less power, due to the structure of society. You're expected to grin and bear it if you're working in the trenches. I know of a few people working ~16 hours a day in one of them. :/

But 3 hours of shut-eye? I'm surprised she didn't already lawyer up. I know, it's Japan, most people don't want to make a fuss, but even so...

Edit: Second article gives me some hope :) The fact that people were willing to hire him even after he "made a fuss" will hopefully encourage more mangaka to speak out against abuse.

I think gertude got busy and then started writing love revo fanfics, and then wander off to mass effect fanfic, but she' still working on love revo fanfic! Did we finish the route? we are still in the middle of Ayato's, right?

I remember reading about this (not that article though). She mentioned it in her blog about her horrendous work situation too. Pretty sure she wrote smut because her publisher want it to sell, and she didn't want to, so that's why the story is all over the place.

I LIKE THE NEW SPIN ON GOING MOE OVER KANOKO AND SEEING HOW SHE'LL REACT WHILE THINKING IT'S AN INSIDIOUS PLOT. In this manga, I support everyone. Even Jouran. I like the Student Council President as well. I can't hate anyone in this. It feels weird not disliking any character in a manga. That's a first for me.

Honestly, I'm... Kind of for the camp of Kanoko never reciprocating. I have strong suspicions she's actually an aromantic asexual, and that Teru's crush on her mostly stems from Kanoko being the first girl to just... Treat him like a person instead of an idol or jerk. I mean, I'm totally rooting for him, but at the same time, I would be more than okay with them not becoming the official couple. Which is cruel, but there you go.

But yes, I love EVERYONE in this manga. Not the first time this happens, but it's not usual either.

I don't mind if they never get together either. I just really like seeing Tsubaki's epic fail/frustrated face/blushing face when SparkleShoujo!MOMENTS arise. I like to watch him continuously fail at this because it's rare that the prince/male lead in a shoujo fails to even fluster the girl. I feel that the mangaka would put her with him in the end or hint at it because it is a shoujo manga. But who knows, it might turn this guess on its head. Whatever the outcome, can't wait for the next update so far!

Yeah, that. But the fact she describes being in love/being the centre of someone's romantic affection as disgusting and disturbing makes me suspect it runs deeper than just "Naw, no one's ever seen me that way, that's impossible!" Though there is a lot of that as well.
