NO - we don't want to buy an umbrella .. we want to huddle together with you as protection from the rain. But I guess with the umbrella they also have to huddle close together so they both fit under it? And they will BOTH be under that umbrella - Daichi will say he's okay in the rain, but Lysa, being as awesome as ever, will not take no for an answer .. so .. yeah, I still hope for some snuggling under the umbrella, hehehe.

Also - if they go on a little shopping trip together why couldn't it have been a shop that sells sexy lingerie? Maybe there Daichi would have offered to buy something for Lysa too .. and maybe he would have then taken the hint that .. WE WANT HIM. Oh well ..

Things would be a lot easier if Lysa knew how to spin cycle.

Been dealing with moving back to school, and come back to 18 alerts on threads (which usually only show one alert for each thread, no matter how many posts there have actually been for me to catch up with.)

All this talk about jobs and school keep making me feel like a bum and a douche! I graduated high school already and I have yet to go to college or get a job, it's making me depressed that I have no life and so much free time...

I'm currently in college right now and it is stressful. I have no free time for most of the week due to the way my classes work and thanks to my GPA lest semester, I need to pass all of my classes this semester just to stay in. If I had some free time during the week, I might have started a LP but for now that is just a dream.

I am going to make a stand here and say that my headcanon involes Kosugi being trans*. Either genderfluid or something along those lines. Heck, maybe just plain androgynous.

This is my headcanon, nothing can take this away from me. Unless something in later updates change my mind (so much catching up to do, sob).

But really, even if it's just me, if I can have a positive depiction of a trans* individual in media, I will take it.

I mean, we already have a crossdresser and it's not portrayed negatively, I can have this, right? Right? Because I really don't want to deal with the trans* erasure route.

And now time for me to play catch up again, sob.

The problem with gender ambiguity is that everyone tries to pin a gender to them, which makes people that pin the OTHER gender to them really mad for whatever nonsensical reason. (Case in point, Crona from Soul Eater. You'd swear those fans were going to rip the other side's faces off over it... while the rest of us who are just like "GUISE. GUIIIISE, IT'S A GENDER, CALM DAOWN, CRONA DOESN'T EVEN HAVE ONE." are facepalming in the corner so hard that our hands have fused to our foreheads.) I do think a transgendered individual with the strength of character that Kosugi has would be a very refreshing change, though.

Headcanon accepted.

PS. That "gender interchangeable" thing? Yeah, I tried to suggest that to some people arguing over the Crona thing. Guess how well that turned out? :D

Don't remind me of that issue; I was briefly in the Soul Eater scene and those fans terrified me. Because I'm trans* so them having that kind of argument? AHAHAHAHA, WAY TOO CLOSE TO HOME. I feel kind of bad just spontaneously deciding that Kosugi is trans* (due to lack of confirmation of anything; I'm the same when it comes to a character's sexuality), but at the same time, I don't really care what gender they are, Kosugi's just a boss.

On an unrelated note, I am shipping an OT4 now. Haven't had one of those in a while.

I'm also impressed with how Daichi's handling Lysa's confession. I respect he's staying professional and NOT trying to push her away via the whole "I'm not good for you bla bla bla" deal. They both know it's against the rules of his job to fraternize with a client in that manner since it's a betrayal of trust and an abuse of power, and he doesn't need to repeat it since she's not stupid. They can be friends, but he can't cross that boundary and they both understand that, but she can't help pining for him (with good reason) and he seems to like her back (I think, not sure if he's at that point yet or not), but instead of freezing up and going "NOPE NOPE NOPE DENSE AS A BRICK WALL LOLWHUT LOVE YOU AND EVERYONE" he acknowledges her feelings but can't return them one way or another.

This is just making me that much more excited for the resolution. Seriously, Voltage has matured with each game, this one is beautiful. IT'S A CRYING SHAME IT'S ONLY ON GREE, THOUGH. FUCK.

Eh, there's no real harm in having a preferred thought for a character's gender if it isn't specified. They aren't going to get mad at you or anything. Heck, Kosugi's so much of a bro, I doubt xe would really give two shits whether you thought xe was male, female, some strange mix of the two... or an alpaca. Same with sexuality. It's not good to pin a person to a category without confirmation in reality, but cartoon characters and such aren't about to freak out at you.

I never realized how bad those shipping wars could get ;-; Literally bashing a character for just existing I couldn't even words. "This character gets in the way of my ship, therefore hate!" No, go away, that's not cool.

I hate shipping war. There's this fandom for a show that I like (Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra) where shipping war is REALLY NASTY. Like someone just can't say he/she like this or that character without having some fan go batshit crazy on him/her because X character is in the way of their OTP. URGH! I even saw a fan-forum dedicated to hating a particular character...
Please, stop. Just stop. Could we just all agree on harem ending Y/Y?

I'm in with the people that will just look at all the pairing (even crack pairing) and say : "Oh, that nice, never though of it that way!" while still having a personal favourite.
Same goes for ambiguous gender. If it's not precised, I'll be a little awkward at first trying to figure it, sometime taking a guess. If the character is interesting, I'll just stop thinking about it all together and enjoy the character for what it is, and not what it may be. If the character is not interesting, I'll just ignore it XD.

Hey hey am I hearing things about shipping? :P I'm apart of the pokemon fandom and we had a few actual shipping wars (PalletShipping (gary x Ash) vs Pokeshipping) in 2001 where it spanned across almost all forums, and shipping was a topic that was banned for goodness how long. Pokeshipping (ash x misty) had a civil war with itself for spreading wrong messages to other shipping, which kinda worked. Then there was a massive (not as big as 2001) war with Advanceshipping (Ash x May ftw) vs Pokeshipping, and THEN Advanceshipping vs Contestshipping (May x Drew). This lasted for like years. Then when Dawn was introduced the process was repeated and repeated, but with Iris things seemed have mellowed.

I remember a short treaty being signed between an Advanceshipping and Pokeshipping thread on a pretty big forum. It was short because people really wanted to bash the other shipping 'cuz they were threatened by their 'hints'. Shit was so crazy man. I just gave up and shipped Yuri and crack. I love me some crack

I don't ship the pokemon anime(and the only time I did it was Contestshipping something that never came to be), but with the gameverse all hell breaks loose. I cannot put into words how confused I am when someone bashes a ship based on the protagonist being either female or male. I just. In the gameverse they don't even have personalities and I still see all of this bashing when the only difference is their gender; just stop. Please.

As for the Pokespe, I prefer to stay out of those waters. I'm not even going to get into how disappointed I was when one of my favorite characters was never introduced, nope, no siree!

For me Kosugi is mostly male because games need more female + male actual friendship but xe being trans* would be awesome too.

And shipping wars are silly, really.

Ah, shipping wars. Yeah, I seen (lived through, ha) a few of those myself .. it seems that most of the shows I watch, books I read, games I play, etc get themselves into those after some time. Only a few of my fandoms stay clean of it - or maybe I'm now just good enough to avoid places (like the tag section on tumblr .. that's somewhere you never wanna go in certain fandoms) .. it gets so nasty. Characters are getting hate for no reason just because they interfere with a certain pairing and get death wished upon them like "Die, you are in the way of OUR ship" .. that's just ridiculous. But worse than that is actually that you, yourself get hated on because you like a specific ship or character - you get hate messages on tumblr saying that you are stupid and an idiot for shipping what you ship or liking what you like. It's also nice if you post a graphic of a certain ship - something that you maybe put hours of work into - just for people to reblog it and write comments about how much they hate that character or that ship.

I actually really like to talk to people who don't ship the same things that I do and that love characters that I don't like or don't really have a connection to .. because by talking to those people you notice things about the show/book/game that you didn't even see before .. and you learn things about the character or the ship that you hadn't even considered - you get a new perpective and I LOVE that.

But there are less and less people you can have a real discussion like that - most of the time when you say Yeah, I don't really like that ship/character the fans of that ship/character see that as a declaration of war or something and then all hell breaks loose.

And yeah .. I don't want that .. so that's the reason I am not really active in any fandom - because I want to ENJOY my shows, books, movies, animes and games .. what I don't want is to get hate for liking something that others don't .. I just can't handle all that hate and the ship wars and everything that's going on in so many fandoms. For most of my fandoms I have some people I can talk (and fangirl) with in a manner that no one gets hated upon or called an idiot for what s/he ships or likes. And I pretend the rest of the fandom does not exist for my own sake.

Ugh, tell me about it. I have completely dropped out of the Avatar:TLA/Korra fandom because I just could not take any of the shit that the (at least the one on tumblr) fandom did anymore. So much hate .. so, so much hate. Korra was one of those shows where I just stopped checking the tags on tumblr because for every good and relevant post there was for a certain character and ship in that tag, there were at least 10 posts that consisted of nothing but hate, hate, hate .. so yeah, I was done with the fandom then. And I regret not being active in it one bit .. now I can just enjoy the show just like it should be and nothing else.

Shipping can be so troublesome. A couple of my friends didn't speak for days over an Avatar: TLA ship.

It's madness. Sheer madness!

The best explanation I can come up with is that some fans honestly feel like their pet ship is actively threatened by people shipping other pairings.

That, and the most vicious ship wars usually seem to occur when canon doesn't officially confirm pairings and various camps get into it over whose pet pairing is actually canon and therefore supposedly more valid.

Shipping is such SRS BUSINESS and some people are actually so deluded and crazy in their obession that they start to hate on the actors who play the characters.
Like if there is a pairing that consits of Actor A and Actor B and Actor A is - in real life - dating ANYBODY else and not Actor B then they even hate on the actor. And say that s/he is CHEATING because clearly they have lost the ability to differentiate between fiction and reality and actually are convinced that actor=character. Yeah .. I wish that was a joke but sadly I have seen it happening quite a few times .. it kinda takes away what little faith in humanity I have.

Don't they understaaaaand that a pairing being more popular doesn't translate to it being canon?!
Hoshit man, The Author does whatever they want, they can make the most nonsensical pairing canon if they'd like, you liking a ship most likely will not change their mind about it being canon or not and I just.

Even if there IS a canon pairing that is officially confirmed in the source material, the shipping wars can go on, and on, and on... and stay vicious. Some crazy fans are not satisfied and claim their fav pairing should have been made canon, and some fans whose pairing is canon cannot help themselves but being huge douche about it and rub it in the face of the other fans...

I tend to avoid those wars like plague but when I accidentally come across one, I lose faith in humanity.

I don't even wanna say something about the Supernatural fandom - it was one of those I have left behind years ago. I don't like to generalize but .. the majority of the fans are just batshit crazy, I have no other way to say it. Deluded people that actually think that yes, the agents of the actors are keeping them apart and that their marriages are just a cover and they are lovers in secret .. yeeeeah.

What's also sad is that those crazy fans that are hating on everything and everyone and participate in the ship wars are those that are the loudest. And they give such a bad image to all the other fans .. like if someone outside the fandom just sees what kind of stuff those people post and say, they tend to assume that every fan is like that. They might not even know that there are also those who still have a brain and use it and that can enjoy something without hating on others and fighting wars over fictional characters and ships!

That's another thing that bothers me, people assuming a whole fanbase is a certain way. I know the insane fans of Hetalia drove me out of the fandom, but I remember being in it before the series got popular in the West. Some of my closest friends were met within an MSN RP based community. We all fell out of it, though. Because those insane fans are NUTS. But the sane ones? They're fantastic, brilliant people.

In cases like that, it's because the insane fans are a lot more vocal than the sane ones, so they're the ones shaping others' impressions of the fandom more than the sane fans are.

Tell me about it.

Although in the case of Hetalia, it's understandable. We got some racist RPers in our community and it was horrifying. And what the insane portion of the fandom did with France. What they did with everyone, actually. The rape fics that involved horrifying moments of history being played for romance. FOR ROMANCE.

On shipping:
I'm a casual enough fan that I haven't gotten involved in any shipping wars, but I've heard the tales. It's creepy!
If someone reblogs your stuff with an "ugh I hate this" I think they still like the picture? Like, "wow this picture is neat but GAH I hate this ship"? Though, yeah... Everyone has stuff they don't like for me it's when they put siblings or best friends in explicitly sexual relationships, come on guys can't people be friends without wanting the D? but you don't need to tell everyone. I much prefer the people who can just... have multiple ships. That sort of seems like an alien concept too; That just because I like another ship, I must hate your ship. Why can't I have both?
I have a character who's shippable with literally everything ... Watching his shipping wars would be amusing, but I wonder how bad they'd get?

I don't watch Supernatural, will never watch Supernatural, but I like Misha Collins because he actively fucks with the fans he's gotten through Supernatural.
