Let's Play TMGS Premium 3rd Story: Push ALL the buttons!

I discovered this place sometime last week, and I've had so much fun devouring LPs that I decided the best way to introduce myself would be to jump right in. So here we are with TMGS Premium 3rd Story, where boytouching has been replaced by pushing boys' buttons because PSP! (sadly there's no English patch in the works for this like with the DS version, which is partly why I'm even doing this)

This version has a few new features rather than being a straight port. One of them is the Approach system, which replaces the DS's boypoking. Another is the Angel/Devil system, which apparently changes up dialogue and event options depending on whether you consistently behave like your usual clueless innocent Protag-chan or are a little more.. enlightened. The characters also move in Live2D, a nice little touch.

Things to note: I have a workable grasp of but am not too fluent in Japanese, so I'll be translating the best I can (feel free to pardon/correct/laugh at any mistakes). What this effectively means is that some boys are easier to translate than others solely because they speak the type of Japanese I learned and not nigh-impenetrable slang. That said, it's good practice and I'm decoding a little more each time!

Also, no guarantees of quality - I'm a fan of Angie's TMGS playthroughs so that particular bar is always hovering - but I'll do my best! ヽ(*・ω・)ﾉ

ANYWAY enough with the blabber, let's get on with introducing our choice of victi- I mean, potential love interests!

I am intrigued. I'm terrible at games that has a lot to handle and even worse at Japanese, so this LP should be something to follow. I can't wait to see where this goes!

I didn't go into much detail aside from that available in the profiles because I've yet to finish any of the routes myself. For the same reason, I'll be staying off the special characters, at least for the first playthrough. So there you have it! I'll leave this open for a while with the following, which you can put in your votes for in any combination:

I'm tempted to say Seiji... because white hair... but then there's red eyes... but... piano... gentlemanly... SEIJI IT IS. (I know, that's Shitara-senpai to us)
I'm kind of against 3P mode. Because rivalry makes for sadness or alternately a lot of weirdness.

I was actually partway through Ruka's route before I decided to do this.

Kou kept trying to butt in with a 3P invitation with the apparent blessing of Ruka - I reloaded once to stave off them eating up a holiday and it worked! ..for a week or so then they invited me out again.

You don't have to take sibling love/rivalry that far, gaiz. ;-;

Welcome to the forum! The usual weather 'round here is comedic with clouds of fluff round yon' otome and occasional showers of angst. There have been frequent reports of terrifying yanderes these days but eh, that's unavoidable. Overall, a nice and bloody place to wander into!
And I vote for Seiji because I'm a sucker for white hair red eyes (possibly yandere, because red eyes are always a warning). And he plays the piano.

I'm fine with anything for the 3P thing but I vote Devil because self aware protag-chans are a rare thing indeed.

Shitara-sempai is my favourite TMGS3 boy, because delicious tsundere, and his VA is my favourite VA ever.
But I'm inclined to vote for Niina. He's adorkable~

I've only played Angel so far, but from what I can tell from reading random bits and bobs, Bambi becomes more assertive and possibly more abusive when leveling up Koakuma. Not too sure about the self-aware/genre-savvy part. The only concrete example I've seen being given is Ruka calling you "goshujin-sama".

I've played both, Angel and Devil.
I much prefere Devil. Angel is pretty much standard Otome game protag, so changing things up by going with devil is really nice.

Aaaand I'm back.
I love Seiji so much, plus he has a much better fashion sense then the so called fashionable boy. I like Arashi too, as usual for the sporty type, he is painfully sweet.
The Sakurai brothers are fine (Kou-kun >3) but the 3P is painful, don't go there please ;_;

I really loved the mix and match element with the clothing they added in, it was really fun, despite the steep learning curve. What isn't fun is how misleading the clothing are - soooo many natural clothes look like typical elegant wear. Damn you Japan and your warped fashion!

I definitely wanna see the Devil side and things, since I hear Angel is nothing special and Devil is loltastic.
3P mode is takes alot of maintenance, so only do it if ya feel like it~ (the balance of fashions was harder then the balance of stats, seriously).

Angel please. I do not care which boy you go after.

Isn't angel + no 3P = every other TMGS? What fun is there if we won't get to see the special features of the game? (beside the cloths. I love the cloths, I only wish we could pick shoes as well. Obviously this game was designed by man, no women would forget to add in shoes)

P-chan: (What's that? There's a building over there...)

Trial #2 of What To Do When Lost. Well done, abandoning all hope and proceeding crunchily forward through the undergrowth instead of retracing your steps IS indeed the right answer! She finds a church, covered in ivy and weeds.


???: "It's not possible right now."

Unseen birds scatter and P-chan throws out two exclamation marks in hopes of warding off the disembodied voice. When that fails to produce a result, she turns to face said voice.


???: "You want to enter that church, right?"
P-chan: "Eh? Err..."

Doubt is the correct reaction when being asked questions by a guy on top of a wall in a clearing with an abandoned church. He explains that the church is locked, so she can't go in. She apologises and explains that she's just trying to find her way back home, which prompts him to ask why she's apologising. P-chan offers the unlikely conjecture that he's someone from the church.


???: "Nope? I just seem to have forgotten the way home too."

LIKELY STORY

P-chan: "Huh. Do you want to head out togeth-"

He interrupts her attempt to sound as gullible as possible by jumping off the wall. P-chan repays his kindness by fussing over him a bit for jumping off high places.


???: "I'm fine. More importantly, it's getting pretty late, so let's get going. I'll send you home."

wait


???: "We're here. This is it, right?"

WHAAAAAAAT


P-chan: "Yep, thank you. But how did you know where my house was?"

You ask that FIRST. You do not thank unknown men especially principals/dandy men if you happen to meet any for sending you home when they're not supposed to know where you live!


???: "Hmm, I wonder why?"

That's one meaningful look there. She's baffled but he just laughs it off with a cryptic "see ya". P-chan then demonstrates a spark of information-retention and yells after him to ask about his transparent lie about not knowing his way back, to which he shouts back that he remembers now.


P-chan: (What a weirdo... But he was kind of cool.)

NO P-CHAN POSSIBLE STALKERS ARE NOT COOL

Sensei is a secret character in this. If there will be two playthroughs, you should do Taira the second time. I love him so much.

To be honest, I think that damn earning is rather condemning. Even Kou-niisan is barely manly enough to pull it off, but Ruka? He'll need a haircut and a new wardrobe before he can poke manliness with a stick (oh, the innuendo ~)

When playing on a shitty emulator, that sadly does not cut for me. That damn platina hair, nothing can excuse it! His brother is way sexier anyway.

I gotta admit I like the interaction between the brothers, their 3P is both sweet and amusing, especially when they gang up on you. That's 3P, not PvP, as has been mentioned here. I did their PvP route once. NEVER AGAIN. Protag-chan is seriously not worth it, guys!
