Nope, too busy laughing for this to ruin anything for me. But my God, that is beautiful.

So sad there isn't an option to rewatch the CG episodes like they did in Love Revo. Why do I only get the CGs?! I was hoping that I can just go through the games, trigger the CGs and moe at the prettiness, and then rewatch and understand the scene in the omake.

Why Tokimemo ;_; If you had this option, it would be perfect...

Wasn't that fond of Tamao at the beginning, but him apologizing for being late if you arrive early on a date = HHNNNNGGG you are such a nice man~

Whereas Seiji is just not very apologetic about his tardiness at all. You're lucky I like you, PI-CHAN.

I can't wait for you to translate the 3P ending (if you are aiming for it) Tewi :3

Does anyone read the ADVs in the omake section? Are there translations for that?

I'll do the 3P ending if I can, but I started out with the intention of going straight for Seiji, so I don't know if I can fulfill Tamao's requirements as well. We'll see! As for the ADVs, I've been putting them off because they're intimidating chunks of mostly-unvoiced text, but let's give the only Seiji one we have a go!


Shitara: The view I want to show you



When I'm surrounded by plants like this, a certain memory stands out.

It's when I got lost in the garden while visiting the house of a friend of my father's.



"Lost in a garden...?"

"That was when I was young. About kindergarten age."

"It must have been quite a huge garden."



"It wasn't that big for an English garden. Towards the back, it did become a bit of a thicket, though."

"That seems big enough..."



Actually, if you were looking at it from an adult's point of view, it probably wasn't that big.

It was an English garden completely unlike this botanical one, but with vegetation taller than I was obstructing my entire field of vision, it probably looked like a jungle to the young me.



"Though it seems ridiculous, that garden really became a labyrinth. The hedges and flowers were walls, and whenever I thought I'd found the way out, it would lead to a dead end."

"Wow... You still got out in the end, right?"



"Ahh, something like that..."

"?"

"What? If I hadn't managed to get out, I wouldn't be standing here right now."

"That's true..."



When I came to after that, I was already in the house. Having been lost, cried myself sick, and fallen asleep, the gardener must have found me.

Come to think of it, it's not a very fun story. It's pretty miserable, however you look at it.

I wonder why I started talking about this.



"Is that garden still there?"

"Yeah. No matter how many times I visit, the labyrinth seems to have powered up every time."

"Hmm, interesting. Makes me want to take a look..."

Shitara: "It might get in my ears!"
P-chan: "The down?"
Shitara: "Don't you know that'll make you go deaf?"
P-chan: "Huh. Isn't that just a superstition..."


Shitara: "Is that a definitive statement? Can you absolutely guarantee that it won't ever happen?"
P-chan: "That's..."


Shitara: "See?! If there's even a one-percent chance of it happening, I'm not going anywhere near dandelions. Let's go. This is a danger zone."
P-chan: (...I wonder who scared him with that when he was young.)

Awww, we didn't intend to threaten your hearing just because you snarked at us, Seiji. ;-; If he was a musically-inclined kid, I can totally see how someone could have really terrified him with horror stories of irreversible dandelion-fluff-inflicted hearing loss. Cute~

White Day coincides with the day the test results are released, as our gal pals remind us!


Miyo: "I'm her assistant. I'm just carrying things though."

Karen has so many people to give White Day return presents to that Miyo's relegated to the role of pack mule Karen's little helper. They wave off P-chan's good-natured offer to be little helper #2, so we go... check out our results.


Top to bottom: Miyo, P-chan, Ruka, Kou, Karen

404 total score not found Nothing much has changed rankings-wise, but our average is inching upwards! Gotta tackle that flagging PE score at some point by actually working out, but we can still boost the first three by continuing to study hard.


Karen: "As expected, it's fine to just be average in our studies. Average... Haa."

Karen comes over to commiserate with us about our mediocre ranking. Don't worry either, Karen, we love you for your fabulosity, not your test scores!


Kouichi: "Eat this."

Back in class, Kou hands us an obligatory White Day chocolate, despite apparently having rejected our Valentine one...? whatever, nomnomnom


Konno: "Here. A return gift for Valentine's."
P-chan: "Thank you very much."
Konno: "Sure. Um, next up is..."

Another obligatory chocolate from Tamao, who seems pretty popular! To stave off our jealousy(?), we devour it in short order.


Shitara: "Here. Since you gave me something last month."
P-chan: "Wow, thank you!"
Shitara: "Don't expect too much of it. The saleperson said that this was popular with a lot of people........... Anyway, I've returned the favour. See you."
P-chan: (I wonder what he got me? Seven-colour macaroons... Wow, they're pretty! They're all in different colours... I'll be sure to savour this.)

Piano-sempai pulls through again, yay macaroooooons!



A quick update of our stats on White Day - this is what we went into the exams with, except I forgot to take the screenshot before that happened.


P-chan: "...By the way, Seiji-sempai."
Shitara: "What."

We finally succeed at stalking manage to catch Piano-sempai after school! We decide to ask him about food.


P-chan: "Do you have anything you like or hate?"
Shitara: "So what if I do."
P-chan: "I was just wondering if you had any."


Shitara: "I'm not telling you. I've no reason to."
P-chan: "Geez. Fine, whatever."

Shitara: "Ahhh, gah... Ahh..."
P-chan: "...What's the matter?"
Shitara: "You made me think about natto. Ugh... Why would you do that!"
P-chan: (Looks like he hates natto...)

TMGS3's general lineup is really impressive. There's no guy whose route I'm not curious about, and that's a first for that franchise.

P-chan: "Um... Hey, Ruka-kun. What's this flower again?"
Ruka: "Denfare orchid."
P-chan: "I see..."
Ruka: "That's no good. In our customers' eyes, we all have to be pros at this."
P-chan: "I'm sorry..."

We get reprimanded at work for not pumping our non-existent flower-recognition stat enough. :<


P-chan: (The entrance ceremony's about to start... I've got to get to the gym. ...Eh? That back looks familiar...) "...Ah!"

It's the start of our second year, which means...


???: "Hm? ...Ah!"
P-chan: "We're in the same school!"
???: "That's my line... Eh, I mean, what's this about? Why're you here?"
P-chan: "I'm just as surprised as you are?"

Why hello there.


???: "I guess you would be. Ahh man, I don't get it! What's with this kind of surprise on my first day of school..."
P-chan: "Eh? First day of school?"
???: "...I'm going for the entrance ceremony after this. You are too, right?"

I swear, every time he appears he manages to make me grin like a lunatic.


P-chan: "No, not exactly..."
???: "Wait a sec. What year are you in?"
P-chan: "I'm a second-year..."


???: "You're one year above...? Are you serious..."
P-chan: "Ah, we've got to go! I'm P-chan! Nice to meet you!"
???: "Niina... Junpei."
P-chan: "It's going to start without us if we don't hurry!"
Niina: "Ah, yeah... Later..."
P-chan: (Niina-kun's a year younger, huh...)

For once, we have the upper hand in the situation - Junpei's the one left gaping instead. Teeheehee.



We get Oosako as our homeroom teacher again this year, and again he introduces himself the same way as he did last year.


P-chan: (Ah, it's Niina-kun.) "You there!"

We spot the kouhai and decide to engage in a little light hazing.


Niina: "I'm sorry!"

Looks like we're not the only ones?


Niina: "...Hey, why'd you scare me like that?"
P-chan: "The only reason you'd be carrying that stack of printouts would be because you got a scolding, right? It looks really heavy."

You little troublemaker, you.


Niina: "Something like that... What's with that astuteness, you and Himurocchi both..."

Aww, that whipped puppy look~ I'm a little envious that he got Himurocchi for his homeroom teacher while we're stuck with Oosakocchi, though I guess it's not something he can take advantage of he's happy about!


Niina: "...Onee-san. You free?"
P-chan: "Nope, not at all. Do your best ♥"
Niina: "Cooold! Come on, help me! No, I mean, please help me, I beg of you!"

Cue huge grin. Again. As a note, he's still using informal speech despite finding out that she's his senior. In contrast, P-chan is still using formal speech with Seiji (desu, masu, etc).


Niina: "Phew, that was tiring... Thanks tons, you really helped me out."
P-chan: "Fufu, is that all?"
Niina: "No, of course not. ♥ Kind onee-san, won't you spend a few sweet moments with me and have a packet of juice? I'll treat, of course."
P-chan: "Sure. I shall kindly accept your offer."

The voice he uses for his nanpa-like lines are just hnnnng.


Niina: "It's a deal! Let's GO!"

Ahahaha. Never change, Junpei! <3

Three tries and they finally nailed the kouhai to space and beyond. Niina is nearly a believably human teenager in his own right. And sensei still looks like he's Negi Springfield sans glasses.

Look who drops by our workplace~


Shitara: "I came to pick up the bouquet we ordered."
P-chan: "Ah, Seiji-sempai. Welcome. Um, this is the one."

He looks crestfallen when he sees it...


P-chan: "Eh? That's... what was ordered, right?"
Shitara: "Yeah, I suppose so. ...Heavy."
P-chan: "Um, please do your best."


Shitara: "Even if you say that, it's not going to get any lighter. Later."

..Maybe next time you should ask what kind of bouquet it is before volunteering to pick it up so you can come visit us!

During the week, we overhear a couple girls badgering Kou for Ruka's number because the latter always dodges the question. He says he doesn't have it, and that maybe Ruka didn't want to give it to them because they can't shut up to save their lives. Cue whining ("I can't believe you're Ruka's brother!" "You're the worst!"), which Kou quickly puts a stop to with his patented glare-and-growl. They slink off and P-chan emerges from around the corner to scold Kou for talking to girls like that.


Kouichi: "Shaddup. I believe in the equality of the sexes."

I think he has the right of it here! You should go rip into those girls as P-sama, P-chan.

As we're heading back to class, a... familiar BGM starts playing...?

...YESSSSSS!!!


Shitara: "Do you have any plans for next Sunday?"

Of course we don't!


Shitara: "Then how about we visit the planetarium? The content they show changes with the seasons, so I never get tired of it."

yes yes yes yes


Shitara: "Great!"


Shitara: "...Uh, I mean, okay. Where do you want to meet?"
P-chan: "How about Habataki Station?"

Psst, Piano-sempai... Your tsundere is showing.


Shitara: "Yeah, that's fine. Well then, don't forget."
P-chan: (Wow... Seiji-sempai invited me out on a date...!)

Finally! ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

Bout time! So how much longer till we snap a leash and collar on him?

Before we head out for our date, we call up Miyo. Sure enough, Piano-sempai's inched over into :D territory.



The first big change is what happens when he's late:


Shitara: "I'm, that is... Sorry for being late."
P-chan: "It's okay, I only just got here as well."
Shitara: "Even so, my bad. I'll be more careful."

He apologises and means it this time!

Secondly, the Approach meter (the stars) in the top right becomes much easier to fill up, and the heart on the left starts off pulsing bigger (thus awarding more hearts per successful molestation). I haven't managed to pick up two Approach stars prior to this date, but this time I nabbed one by critting a smile once. The same action used to award 3 hearts and no stars.



I forgot if I covered this, but a quick recap: the Approach meter determines how close you can approach your date before they protest and presumably shove you away, thus ending your opportunity to push their buttons. A quick tap of ○ means you smile at them, while holding it lets you gaze; △ is the same with touch/hold hands, □ with tease/chop. With two stars, this lets us get close enough for our final attack, achieved by closing in all the way with the analogue stick and holding it at them - cling.



The first time I did this, I realised why the Live 2D models are so beautifully sharp and detailed when they're at max range.


Shitara: "I've decided to call you by your first name by now on. Generally, it's customary to address people by their first names overseas. Only in countries like Japan do we still primarily use surnames."

We're getting somewhere! The options "Of course it's fine" and "But, since we're in Japan..." pop up, but there's only one answer!


Shitara: "Great. ...Well, not like it's a particularly uncommon situation."
P-chan: (I think I might be a little embarrassed...)


Shitara: "...Do you still have time? Since we're here anyway, we should walk a bit more."

...This combination of angle and expression looks particularly disturbing to me. Am I the only one...?


Shitara: "Yeah, let's talk as we walk."

He no longer tsuns when we try to hold his hand <3


Shitara: "Even if we're just walking, it's nice when I'm with you."

Ex-Approach is go! We start off at 0% and one star. Unlike normal Approach, you can't control the proximity here - that's determined by the stars in the top right, which fill up whenever you land a critical hit. The more stars we fill, the closer we get. Note the sunset-tinged sky behind; like with Love Mode, this is the first half of Ex-Approach. You move on to the extended second half when the heart reaches 40% or above by the time limit.



The button progression works slightly differently as well. You start off with just ○ (smile/gaze) lit up and cling as a third move, and you have to land the "correct" move to unlock the following button (marked by a shower of gold sparks). There's no set series of commands as far as I can tell - the general guideline is never to do the same command twice (he'll, ha ha ha, lose heart), so just cycling through the available commands until it showers sparks should work best.



Critical hits (achieved by doing the correct command just as the heart meter pulses to maximum) add gold stars, which slowly closes the gap.


Shitara: "Staying like this forever... No, it's nothing."

Awww, dere unlocked! Here we breeze through to the extended Ex-Approach with a respectable 76%.



At five stars, they're pretty much walking with their faces stuck together. That can't be safe. There's apparently special dialogue to be had if we hit 100% and don't harrass him any further, but I didn't notice in time so... MASH MOAR BUTTONS!


Shitara: "...Stop."
P-chan: "Er, stop?"
Shitara: "That's right, stop. Don't even move a single millimetre."
P-chan: "................"

If anyone ever told me that, I'd proceed to jump and flail around wildly, but P-chan is a good girl... for now?


Shitara: "...All right, you can move now."
P-chan: "O-okay."



P-chan: "Um, what was that about...?"


Shitara: "A charm to ensure that this day will end on a calm note."
P-chan: "? What would it be if not calm?"




Shitara: "...Haa, I wonder where one can buy medicine that can be used on those who feign innocence?"
P-chan: (???)

I translated that more or less literally and I'm not sure if there's something being lost here...

...But is he trying to say he wants to cure P-chan of her innocence. IS HE.


P-chan: "Let's see, it says... 'All I can think about is when we can next meet. Even though we parted ways not too long ago.' That's a little embarrassing... But I'm glad."

Awww.

We have finally... UNLEASHED THE DERE!

Good timing, too, now I have a month or so to work on Tamao. <.<

...I am going to end up buying a video game in a language I can't understand, aren't I.

What I got out of it is that he was getting "excited" and wanted to calm things down. So with her devilish background Shitara assumed when she said "? What would it be if not calm?", that she was aware of the reaction she was causing, thus the feigning innocence bit.

Good point there! I wish they changed that last bit to show off the devil side more, since that (???) was definitely a vanilla/Angel P-chan response.

P-chan: (It's already so dark out... I'd better head home quickly.)
???: "Oi."

P-chan: "Seiji-sempai? Why are you..."
Shitara: "You're done for today, right? I'll walk you home."
P-chan: "You came here just to do that?"


Shitara: "Do you have a problem with it?"
P-chan: "Nope, not at all ♥"

Slightly stalkerish of Piano-sempai, but undeniably sweet at the same time. I can't figure out whether he's the type to have stood outside for a couple hours waiting, or the type to have sneakily dropped by a couple times to figure out exactly when she gets off work before revealing himself... <.<


Shitara: "Don't smirk like that. Let's go."

And off they go! To my surprise, it segues into another scene.


P-chan: "You're not coming in?"
Shitara: "Into your house? No, it's fine, not on such short notice."
P-chan: "I don't mind, you know?"


Shitara: "I mind. Coming in at such a late hour, it's... It'd be difficult to explain if it were misunderstood."
P-sama: "Even so... I don't mind."


Shitara: "Eh?"


Shitara: "You should mind, you idiot! Later."

He gets really flustered here - you can't see it in the text, but his voice goes all over the place ahahaha.


P-sama: "I really wouldn't mind it at all, though ♥"

P-sama! XD Okay, I like the devil protagonist. She's fun.

I really wish P-sama was more consistently Devil, she's great when she remembers she's not a vanilla otome protagonist.

He's still at :|, but 3P mode can't trigger till June of the second year, anyway. I'm in May right now, devoting some time to asking Tamao out since Seiji's freeing up half my weekends by doing the asking. <3 Hopefully I can trigger it without too much of a problem.

Oh, okay! right it's 3P not 2P, gog brain stop spacing out on meee. Seems kinda arbitrary for the game to make you wait that long, but I guess it'll probably make more sense once we get there.

We run into Tamao after school and manage to wheedle him into going to the cafe, so let's grab this chance to ask the same question!


Konno: "I find it somewhat unpleasant when fruit is used in dishes. Pineapples in sweet-and-sour pork, melon wrapped in dry-cured ham..."
P-chan: "Ahh, I see..."
Konno: "They're fine when eaten on their own. I just can't understand why you would combine them like that."

Cooked/roasted pineapples are the best, what is this blasphemy?! I love the pineapples in sweet-and-sour pork. :<




Konno: "You haven't played enough?"

We drag him to the amusement park and hope Piano-sempai is taking a day off from the apparent stalking. Or are we?


Kou: "You wanted something?"
P-sama: "No? I just felt like calling you."
Kou: "Oh, 's that so..."
P-sama: "Fufu, just kidding! It's your birthday, right? Here's your present. Open it?"

Kou's birthday comes up and we gently rib him a bit before shoving a present at him.


Shitara: "Why didn't you come on time?"
P-chan: "I'm sorry..."
Shitara: "...Don't make that wretched face. Rather than apologise, just smile and I'll call it quits."

Aww, how you've mellowed, Piano-sempai.



Aaand that's a 100% with plenty of time to spare on the first half of Ex-Approach. I'm not sure what to think. I know what to do though - push more buttons!!!


Shitara: "...Stop."
P-chan: "Ah, okay."


Shitara: "You... Is this some sort of challenge?"
P-chan: "Eh? What do you mean..."


Shitara: "Think back on your own actions."
P-chan: "Haa... Let's see, I turned that corner over there, then kept walking straight ahead..."
Shitara: "That's not what I meant. I was referring to all that clinging and touching here and there you've been doing since just now..."
P-chan: "......! Was I touching you that much?"

Time to feign more innocence~


Shitara: "That was all you were doing, and you didn't even realise it yourself?!"
P-chan: "S-sorry..."

We are totally not sorry.


Shitara: "...Hmph. If you thought it affected me, you were sorely mistaken."

Lies! Oops, we made him mad.
