I was more worried that people were finding things going too slowly, but I'm more than happy to keep doing it this way if the pacing is fine! :3

Had to take a break from reading the Corpse Party LP (why must it get dark outside), so I mashed buttons on a new game and picked up something for Jackrabbit~

Indeed we can, and though I haven't gotten close enough to chop Seiji yet, it'll probably become a habit since it seems to result in black feathers (i.e. Devil points) fairly consistently. Hohoho.

And personally, I'm fine with how you're doing the LP. I always like to know about game mechanics (even if I will never, ever play this game because I don't have the money to buy a DS...)!

I can just picture Seiji escorting you back home with a purple eye and a swollen face, blushing and telling you how fun the day was. Then, he would leave limping, looking forward to the next date.

I think the screenshot says it all - nothing went as planned for them. <.< Kou dares them to come at him, tells them that he won't raise a hand against them if they don't get in his way, then lets them scuttle off before they wet their pants. Proving that she hasn't changed at all, P-chan doesn't pass up the chance to tell him that he shouldn't fight.


"I wasn't fightin'. We were just.. having a discussion."

It looked pret-ty civilised to me, Bambi. He could have beat them up easy, but instead just turned his glare of doom on them. Plus they were the ones who were picking a fight!

Anyway, we pester Piano-sempai for a few more dates. He doesn't apologise when he's late, but he gets all slitty-eyed and huffy when we are. Pfft. Luckily, we have our feminine wiles.

See, I don't get this event. Rich people use mobiles phones too, and they're usually way fancier then the shit he's using in the CG. Maybe that's why he's having problems, he's too used to his iphone and can't handle this relic from 2003 (mine is very similar, so I know. I hate touch screens, so cells from a decade ago are my thing. I like to pretend it's retro and not a hobo phone).

Also: ARAAAAASHI-KUN <3 Aaah thanks for that, it was just what I needed. Dear boy with your awful haircut, I like you even though you make me feel like your bro. It's not his fault, he has big shoes to fill (TMGS 1+2 sporty guys were completly adorable, it really isn't fair to him. I like how manly he is, though, with his judo jammies~)

My theory is that he's just too proper to use modern technology. He probably only plays 100-year-old pianos and only plays stuff by dead composers.

P-chan goes shopping again! We pick up all the accessories available (four) and one single top at the flea market, because P-chan still hasn't received any job-related emails and had to make do with a measly 13 Rich. She's on the way home when...


"Where are you headed? Ahh, shopping, huh? Clothes and stuff?"

A wild kouhai-to-be appears! He tries to talk P-chan into joining him for a drink, sounding very much like a date disturber. She's not having any of it, though, and politely but firmly shuts down all his attempts.


(Geez, I already said I didn't have the time for this... All right, if this is how it's going to be..!)

However, he's persistent, so P-chan is forced to break out her bag of tricks. She pretends to see Karen behind him, then takes off running when he's distracted and manages to shake him.

Oh well, we'll see him again next year!


P-chan: "But isn't it against the rules to ride a motorbike to school?"

Oversleeping and rushing out of the house, P-chan meets the brothers again, this time passing by on Kou's bike. Of course, she can't ignore the chance to comment on their rulebreaking, as if we haven't all figured out that they don't give (much of) a damn.


"Shut up. ....Let's go."

You were late for more dates than P-chan ever had been, mister, so don't give me that look. Since he doesn't take well to us getting close enough to chop him like he deserves, we keep molesting his hand as revenge.

You forgot to mention the lovely brothers ask P-chan if she's late, and they're response is basically "sucks to be you!" before sailing away on the bike and ditching her there. What sweethearts. It's hilarious tho.

Ha, forgot about that scene with kohei-kun. He has some guts, asking out a girl just like that. Where does it all go when he's semi-dating P-chan for THREE FREAKING YEARS? <--that really boggles the mind, sometime. Three years of this kinda relationship, can shit like that actually happen?

His family is so rich, they send their messages by a messenger on a horse, with the message written on an old scroll of papyrus that crumbles after you read it. That's why the concept of cellphones and saving messages is new to him.

Okay, that's cute. I think he probably doesn't know how to save a text because he's older in the inside? Or maybe he doesn't just because. I learnt how to use t9 after three years of having a mobile phone.

Yeah, some people are just technology-dumb. I still can't use my stupid touchscreen phone properly, and it takes me like 10 minutes to type a text message. Grr

Ah, all the fun I had with my old touchscreen phone... the touchscreen sensor (or whatever you call it) went haywire in my bag all the time and my phone called random people from my contacts. I once had to explain to the police that, no, there's no emergency, my phone is crazy... Good times.

These CGs without the dividing line of the DS screen are truly liberating.

Ahaha, all this blushing from Shitara is only the beginning now that we're getting devilish. Soon our protagonist will rise in canniness and actually catch onto things!

As for the cell phone thing, it's probably less that he's rich and more than he's probably from one of those traditional old-school families that consider themselves too good for modern technology.

This imagery should rightly make me feel disturbed and horrified. So why does it fill me with glee instead?

I got a cellphone for the first time this year. I'm still learning new things. When my brother let me borrow his, I was fucking up so often he gave up on me. Cellphones are not easy. I understand, Seiji, it's okay, now let me hold your precious blushing face.

Edit: .... Before anyone asks, yes, I do have a thing for blushing, not that that was a secret, now stop looking at me like that.

The fact I posted this right under Joie de Combat's posts just made me realize I am proving points everywhere.

I can't use someone else phone for life. And I'm getting a degree in this kind of stuff, I'm not sure how that works.

You're getting a degree in cellphones? That. Is. Awesome.
I can't use those gimmicks youngster use, iPhone and iPad and apps and everything is synced together. My work is about providing tech support, if you're wondering. I'm not sure how that works either. All I can say is, I can fix an AC but I can't connect my laptop to my TV to watch movies on it. We all have our comfort zone, I suppose.

All my classes teach me is how we know jack squat about anything.

Nope, Computer Science Engineering, but we often end up working with cellphones because applications and OS and stuff. I spent a month working with three different phones because I was writing and testing an application but I can't use one of them to send a text.

I can't even use mine properly.

My cellphone is a pretty old one (I call it brick), and I just can't manage with the newer ones. I end up locking it up or going back and forth because I just don't know how to do anything with them.

I'm pretty good at tinkering with computers, though.

Also Tewi, keep doing it like this. It is interesting to see the mechanics and stuff, as long as it doesn't bore you to write that much.

Basically, your partner calls out "left" (ひだり hidari) or "right" (みぎ migi), and you press the L and R buttons respectively when they do so. Failing - pressing the wrong button or not pressing it in time - sends both of you to your knees. The speed ramps up as you successfully nail more and more commands, but they never try to trip you up with "Right! Left! Right! ..Right again!" or anything, so we end up with a respectable lead.

This game is an accurate representation of my feelings for every single sports festival in my life. And my school had like 10 per year...

My affection for Miyo is increasing on that count.

My armchair designer gets tickled pink with some details on these systems, and the slower pace easing into thing is nice as well. Ultimately it's your LP and your call though, i'd like it either way. :s

My theory is it generally has to do with time between posts. The derails seem to to a degree depend on time between LP posts and the more it elapses, the greater the likelihood of serious (hilarious) derail. The secondary variable being if it's generally a very talkative thread.
