Let's Play TMGS Premium 3rd Story: Push ALL the buttons!

My favorite GS3 video was deleted from Youtube! And it would have been so perfect for this LP too. :( Well, this one's a pretty close second because Makoto Shinkai.

I went on a Ura Omote binge a while back...sure brings back memories...

I've gotten to the point where I generally prefer covers of Vocaloid songs by various utaites to the originals, though. :P Gero, Isaji, Nano, and Aho no Sakata are my favorites.



This is my favorite TMGS3 video, though the Techno Break one is a close second. It also illustrates why I like the 3P routes.

A week of whirlwind events commences! Prepare yourselves for reams (well, a couple posts) of dialogue!

Our first encounter is Ruka, whom P-chan runs into while taking the trash out to the incinerator.


P-chan: (Haa... Heavy. It'd be great if I could get a guy to help me take this trash to the incinerator...)
???: "That looks kinda heavy, P-chan."
P-chan: "Ah, Ruka-kun."
Ruka: "What are you doing, hauling around so much trash?"
P-chan: "You know... Taking it out to the incinerator, since it's class cleaning time."
Ruka: "Hmmm... How unexpected."
P-chan: "Why's that?"


Ruka: "I'd had thought that sort of work would surely be done by the more menial types."
P-chan: "Menial?"
Ruka: "Yeah... You know, it wouldn't be weird for anyone else in your class but you."
P-chan: "Geez! Anyway, what are you doing, Ruka-kun?"


Ruka: "Me? Nothing?"
P-chan: "Nothing? Even though it's cleaning time?"
Ruka: "Uhhuh."
P-chan: "...Ruka-kun?"
Ruka: ".............."
P-chan: ".............."
Ruka: "Would it be okay if I took all that trash to the incinerator?"
P-chan: "Yes. Can you do that?"


Ruka: "I had a feeling I was being ordered to do that. Silently."
P-chan: "No way! This really is heavy though..."
Ruka: "It's fine. I'll take it."
P-chan: "Thanks~ ♥"


Ruka: "Hmm? Could it be I've become one of those menial types?"
P-chan: (......?)

The next day, we're carrying some printouts when a familiar-seeming bespectacled senior offers to help. Exercising her increasingly-honed powers of retention, she finally blurts out that she remembers seeing him at the entrance ceremony as the Student Council president.


???: "Haha, I'm happy to have been remembered! I'm indeed Konno Tamao, the Student Council president."

She introduces herself and they chat for a bit before someone shouts for him to hurry to the meeting.


Konno: "Sorry, I'll be right there! Well then, I'll see you around."
P-chan: (...Haa, I was so nervous. Konno-sempai sure is a nice guy, helping me out even though he was clearly busy himself.)

Being nervous when you talk to someone important, I know the feeling! And he's a sweetie too. Later in the same day, P-chan chances on both sempai on the way out of school.


Shitara: "...Ah."
Konno: "Oh? Are you heading home?"
P-chan: "Yes."
Shitara: "You're acquainted with Konno?"

Why, are you jealous? ಠ_ಠ


Konno: "That means... You know Shitara too?"
P-chan: "Ah, so the two of you are friends."


Shitara: "'Friends...'"
Konno: "Haha, something like that."

Do you not have friends, Seiji? :< Anyway, they both turn down her invitation to walk home together since Seiji's ride is here and Tamao needs to head off for cram school. P-chan is left to wonder whether or not they're actually friends.

They're secretly in the same juggling troupe. Clearly.

A couple days down the road, she's lugging out the trash again (I guess it's her duty this week?) when she's bombarded by girlish screams. Totally not the manly help she was looking for.


Girl A: "Bambi-sama!"
P-sama: "Y-yes?!"
Girl B: "Sorry for coming up to you all of a sudden! Um, we're members of Karen-sama's fan club."
P-sama: "I-is that so... Did you need me for something?"
Girl A: "We talk to each other about Karen-sama and Bambi-sama's loveliness all the time. Right?"
Girl B: "Right! So, there's something we really want to ask your permission for..."

Guys, I think P-chan has fangirls now. Who might or might not want to ask permission to ship her with Karen. ｡◕‿◕｡


P-sama: "......What is it?"
Girl A: "If it's fine with you, may we call you 'princess'?"
P-sama: "Princess... Err, why would you want to?"

They're asking to call her 'hime' (姫), of course. Is this what all prince characters go through?


Girl B: "Because! You've captured even Karen-sama's heart with your noble carriage and sublime manner!"
Girl A: "And your beauty has tamed even the notorious Sakurai brothers!"
Girl B: "If we don't call you our princess, it'd be doing you a dishonour! So, please!"
P-sama: "Uhh... well... Please don't?"
Girl B: "Nooooooo~~! She scolded us~!"
Girl A: "Hime-samaaaaaa~~!



Yeah, sounds about right. Devil Bambi's moving up in the (school) world! As she speechlessly ponders her recent encounter in the company of the bag of trash, someone else calls out to her.


???: "Hey, Hime-sama."
P-sama: "Kouichi-kun! You were watching? That's not a good hobby..."
Kou: "My bad, but it's not like you don't know what those girls were talking about, right?"
P-sama: "Really? Why do you say that?"


Kou: "I mean, you have that gutsy spirit and such, and a force of personality even the bad guys are scared of, yeah?"
P-sama: "That's mean! I'm still a girl, you know?"
Kou: "Eh? Oh, yeah, sorry..."
P-sama: "Mean..."


Kou: "I said I was sorry... I got too carried away. Okay?"
P-sama: "Then, as punishment, please take this to the incinerator?"


Kou: "Aah?!" >8|
P-sama: "Fufu! Now then, let's go!"


Kou: "Rather than a princess, I'd say a queen..."
P-sama: (......?)

The next morning, another event.. that P-sama initiates?!


P-sama: "Konno-sempai, stop!"

Then there is, and I kid you not, the crack of a whip.


Konno: "Waa?!"


Konno: "Oh, it's you. You got me."
P-sama: "Unpreparedness is one's greatest enemy."
Konno: "I'll be careful. You never know when you might be attacked by a little devil, hm?"
P-sama: "I'll seize the opportunity to attack if I see one, so please do be prepared."

Are we actually carrying a whip around now? I can't tell.


Konno: "Haha, how terrifying."
P-sama: "I'm not kidding, you know?"
Konno: "Eh?"
P-sama: "Since I always have my eye on you, Konno-sempai."

Oh, you tease.


Konno: "Ehh? That's..."


Konno: "Haha... You've been having me on a lot, lately."
P-sama: "Lately... you say?"


Konno: "...I've been coming to realise that you've been having me on from the very beginning."
P-sama: "Fufu~ ♥"

...I suspect Tamao likes the Devil type. And we actually get to see him blush without even going on a date!

This turn of events gets all of my like - looks like the new dialogue only triggers from level 3 onwards, and I definitely didn't see any of this in my Angel file. Devil Bambi is really quite hilariously different - I totally didn't expect the whip, for one! XD

So far, I only know that Ruka prefers Angel while Kou prefers Devil. Wonder if the trend holds for the other two pairs?

I wish the editor would stop eating my spaces ;-;

I think I'll just imagine she IS carrying a whip if it's all the same to you. While wearing a fedora.

Perhaps that's not a whip but the devil tail P-chan is cracking...

Same here~ Vocaloids are great and all, but I generally like the sound of, well... REAL people better.

I think Kou, Seiji, Junpei prefer devil and Ruka, Arashi, Tamao prefer angel.

P-hime is the greatest, I am so very glad we ended up going Devil. 5/5 should do again.

Tamao's adorable and I wish the vote to 3P him and Seiji had won, because Tamao's expressions are priceless in those CGs.

I have a question...do the sprites do that weird moving thing/appearing more alive than they actually are thing in the DS version too? It creeps me out...:S I guess I have to just get used to it.

I get scared when they start to move. Next thing you know, it'll be like the Ring.

Edit: I think there is a version where they only blink and change positions, like in the older ones. I'll start with that and then work my way up to movable sprites. Don't you feel intimidated when doing skinship > <

No, they're completely stationary in the DS version, since it uses portraits like in the previous DS games. It was actually really jarring because I got to love the Live2D movement and it looks completely natural to me now, so when I went back to the DS version I was all "y u no move ;-;".

I must admit it would be weird to skinship moving sprites though...

Anyway, I can reopen the vote for 3P now that we've met both of them ingame - it's not too difficult to trigger, as evidenced by how I tripped the Ruka/Kou switch in my first file without even intending to go there. It looks like we've Tamao fans suddenly coming out of the woodwork, so if you want to see more of him, this is your chance! Likewise for those curious about 3P or have otherwise changed their mind.

Hmm... I didn't vote either way last time, but I admit I'm kind of curious about it! o: I'd be more than okay with at least getting a look at how the 3P thing works.

I assert that I love the 3P Mode, that there are indeed ending CGs for it (With both of them in it!) and that it's basically the closest an otome game will get to polygamy.

I'd like to see 3P. But not PvP.

I know the approach system replaces skinship, but is the Devil/Angel thing exclusive to the PSP version as well?

Can we get a harem ending if we go 3P?

Yes, it was only added in Premium.

You pretty much need to 3P if you want any sort of harem ending, unless you want a.. one-person harem? XD

That said, the second 3P ending is pretty difficult, since you need both guys at :D and above AND have to fulfill both their ending requirements.

I find this 3P idea quite intriguing. It also seems pretty in-character for your devilish P-sama to hoodwink the both of them into crushing on her. If you think you can pull it off then by all means, go for it!

I found it pretty painless to get the second 3P end for Arashi/Junpei and Tamao/Seiji, but haven't yet figured out how to get it for Sakurai Bros. It always seemed like when Kou had a lot of interest Ruka was slower to gain affection and vice versa.

The other nice thing about 3P route for me is that I no longer had to give any answers on dates, thus I could still stumble through the game and get a good ending without literacy in Japanese.

Though I wonder, doesn't P-chan usually kiss the guy during the confession at the very end? Does that mean no kissing under the 3P end or some weird Lady Gaga Love Game kissing? Do we at least get a hug?

The only 3P ending that comes to mind was from Heart no Kuni...and they were very clear on it not being platonic.. > :D Threesome for the Win!

Yep, Devil/Angel only exists in the PSP world. All the great improvements go to the PSP : (

Speaking of Heart no Kuni, my fondest wish is for that game to get LPed. Alice is apparently a boss heroine.

Seiji calls out to P-chan as she's innocuously walking through the courtyard one day.


P-sama: "Ah, Shitara-sempai. What's the matter?"
Shitara: "Nothing much. Just greeted you since you're here."
P-sama: "Is that all..."
Shitara: "What do you mean by that?"
P-sama: "It's just that you don't look happy to see me at all."
Shitara: "Should I be excited to see you every single time we meet?"
P-sama: "You're not?"

I think I see where this is going...


Shitara: "As if."
P-sama: "You're awful... How could you treat me like that..."

Pour on the guilt!


Shitara: "Err, well... How should I go about this then?"
P-sama: "Just kidding! I got to see your worried face ♥"
Shitara: "...You..."
P-sama: "Fufu~ ♥"
Shitara: "Haa... Is this what they call a little devil?"

I'm honestly enjoying the more playful P-sama who isn't afraid of, gasp, taking control of the situation. It's a nice change from the usually passive P-chan! As a note, they're all calling/referring to her as a 'koakuma', which is 'imp' or 'little devil'. Or a librarian aide from Touhou... who also has pink hair? Actually, hang on, let me find some art of her -

The resemblance is uncanny!

But anyway, since it looks like we're on the go-train for 3P, we shall take the liberty of asking Tamao out so we can start laying some foundations.


Konno: "Even so, late is late. I'm truly sorry."

Awww, but we only just got here too! Really! We wear a chic outfit out since he hates sexy, and he compliments us on our good taste.


Konno: "Wah, you surprised me. What is it?"

Sneakily trying to hold hands makes him... look terrified? We weren't going to do anything funny, I swear. :<


Konno: "Uhh..."

Obligatory invasion of personal space, check.






Konno: "That feeling of the pit dropping out of your stomach... It's starting to get addictive."

Wouldn't have thought he was the type for rollercoasters, but at least he had fun! He thanks us properly for inviting him out, then sends us a text later that night.


"Hmm.. It says 'Sorry if I acted without enough restraint. It was just much too fun...'"

I'm not sure if he's the one who should be apologising, somehow. <.<

As out of character as I find it to see P-sama looking so scared on a coaster, this is cutest fucking thing.

(I guess it's really nice that they chose their clothes to fit Bambi's pink hair.)

Interestingly/unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Angel/Devil level actually affects date dialogue or choices, at least not that I've seen so far.

So I'm not the only one to notice! It's totally a conspiracy to convince her to induct them into her harem.

Tangentially, as much as I'm disappointed that there are no nipple-belts or their equivalent to laugh at in this game, it's great to see outfits that are at least nice to look at! Or don't break your brain wondering how it all works, anyway.

Also yeah, it seems like with this game Konami learned how people actually fashion. Plus everyone is kind of a believable character for once (barring how ridiculous Oosako-sensei looks).

I know there's a patch for Anniversary no Kuni no Alice in the works, but I'm planning on LPing the original game and the patch is still under a lot of development as it stands. Any help in regards to this would be greatly appreciated!

If it isn't, AGTH/ITH is your friend. Hongfire has rather detailed walkthrough, and a quick google search finds quite a bit of forum entries on the subject. It's a shoddy translation, but if you get a noun and an adjective in each sentence, plus the voice acting, you can kinda grasp the gist of things.
