No requirements whatsoever. Just make sure it's larger than 270x270 and you'll be fine. Preferably exactly 270x270 so I don't need to guess at which part of the picture you want to be cropped.

The houses are, respectively, that of Alice Margatroid; the Seven Colour Puppeteer, and Marisa Kirisame; The Ordinary Magician, located within the Forest of Magic.

The "churches" are the Moriya Shrine, nestled at the top of Yokai Mountain and the Hakurei Shrine which rests on the border separating Gensokyo and the real world, and the library is Voile, the Great Magical Library located within the Scarlet Devil Mansion near the lake where my chosen Fairy makes her home.

The "Hospital" is Eientei, located in the depths of the Bamboo Forest of Lost Souls and home to a certain Lunatic who's more likely to use you for experiments that just so happen to have a fortunate effect than intentionally "cure" you. The shop, Kourindo, is located on the fringe of the Forest of Magic. The school is just that; a school. It's located in the Human Village not far from the Hakurei shrine, and the teacher is a half-Hakutaku named Keine. She'll teach whoever is willing to learn.
