I was just testing out stupid shit in the game to see what would happen and then all the survivors died and I was like bwahaha whatever I'll just reload. And then I forgot that the reloading doesn't work once the game is over.

Is there a file where saves are kept? For the future, it might be best to make a copy and back it up elsewhere, just in case. That way you'll only have to redo a few turns' worth.

Might be worth finding out for the next runs.

I have no objection waiting if you all want a third go.

I can't see any folder with save games when I check, but I'll ask the devs. *thumbs up*

There's no stats, all you can do is tell them to do it and what to take with them.

Welp. If we're doing a new round, then here's my character specs:

EDIT: Oh wait, we're voting. WELL. As much as I wanna do the polite thing and say, sure, they can get another round, I have to say that it's very unlikely they'll be able to top what they've already done. Plus I'm an impatient bastard, so I say move on to the next group~

Just so long as we accept it's canon for this they're all out there, killing gigantic zombies and each other with equal success.

If it's possible for us to recover the savegame, I'm all for actually wrapping up a round.

But otherwise, beginning a third round seems a bit much.

You can, in fact, see the stats for them. Just move one of the survivors to another house. Under the "Orders" page, a new action will pop up, with something like "Character investigates Location", or whatever. Click on that, and the stats for that will pop up just like any other action. Change Investigate to Breach or Assault to see the stats for those.

Do you know how to figure out when the last backup was made? (I'm using Windows 7.) Like I said, if it was made around a certain point earlier today (after the super-zombie thing, to be precise), then we could possibly continue from before I fucked up and ruined everything. Not quite sure how these things work though?

System Restore will tell you when the last backup is (you can choose which point). But before you do that...

Yeah, I actually just checked that forum before coming here (since I was the person who asked that question in the first place) and went to look in the folder mentioned, which I'd actually checked before when I was looking for save games in the first place. The recheck revealed nothing, as I expected. The save file disappears when a game is completed, after all. Next time I'll know where to look if a save gets corrupted though!

All right, I just checked System Restore, and the most recent restore point I can find is on December 9th noon. Unfortunately, re-rolling back to that point would probably be the same as starting a new game, since I think we starting this round at some point before that. ;___;

I heard something about a "shadow explorer" program that can dig out old versions of your files. That might also be for just corrupted games, though, since I dunno if it can find a deleted file.

Worth a shot though, I guess?

You know what? If we had to lose the file, at least it went on that fucking high note. Let the other three groups go, and we can go again once we've gotten to sit back and watch them suffer.

I assume you mean after? If the new round was started before the savepoint was made, then we could potentially resuscitate the file.

ALL THE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. I am most pleased.

We actually started this round Friday, while the 9th was yesterday, so yeah, the save should be salvageable at that point.

Doesn't system restore not change or restore files? Worth a try, though.

It doesn't touch documents. No idea about savefiles.

If the save cannot be recovered, it'll be my turn finally hahaha I'll be sad for the people who never got to finish a game.

Even if the game usually ends in despair.

It is now my headcanon that after defeating the Zombie King, my group and I finally perfected the technology to create a gun that shoots Mary at people.

With this newfound super weapon, we conquered and civilized the zombie hordes, forming our own united zombie empire. We then lived happily or in the case of Mary, violently ever after.
