On another note, bartenders are strangely powerful in this game. Is that like a reference or in joke or something?

I heard there is this thing called pollen allergy...

So basically we get three racists, a man-hater and someone who inexplicably hates the middle class. I could probably make some joke about this, but I'm too busy laughing at how the game hates musicians and adores bartenders.

You should see librarians. In the demo (and according to the commentaries in the thread, in the full game as well), they are pretty underpowered in comparison to... well, everything.

In the interest of moving this LP along, I decided to take the players' actions as a vote for an overall plan instead of waiting for every single person to get a vote in. General sentiment seems to be search this house first, and then breach a house.

First of all, I assign the people who said they wanted to search to do so.



You're incredibly lucky that people didn't become frustrated when searching the location together - Spar, the incompetent little fairy, has only 1 searching star, Logan has 2, and when paired together with Breakdown, who has 4? And who basically hates everybody in the house? It's a wonder furniture hasn't started flying yet. This is why coordinating your actions as a coherent plan is really important.

I spread a rumour about Breakdown though, so you should be fine... for now.

Meanwhile, I send Umazes out to breach the nearest house, as per her wishes. EvilFuzzy9/Ayumu was the only one who didn't get in an action when I asked for it, so I just took control and sent her together with Umazes.

It's actually a pretty smart, efficient plan, if you don't care about everybody getting a potential relationship boost on the first turn of searching. Empty houses are typically really easy to breach. I even send the rest of the group to help them out on the second turn, so this should be a piece of-

Alas, the mighty survivor Umazes has fallen! Her past glories in battle, her magnificent rescue of her friends Mary and Shuu, have unfortunately come to naught! People will forever remember her as the wimp who lasted barely two hours into the game, and unless somebody figures out how to kill themselves in one turn, her shameful record will stand for all eternity! Even when the sun explodes, and the earth is consumed by the fires of heaven's wrath, people will be telling the tale of Umazes, the 21-year-old straight perceptive female surgeon who tried to breach a mostly empty house armed with a waitress and died, pathetically, without killing even a single weak-ass rotting corpse.

(For the record, this is why I always have my survivors breach in a group.)

(And before you ask, no, there will be no save-scumming this time around. *sparkles*)

We're gonna need to do something while Ayumu looks more like a patchwork; I'll Clean up corpses in the meantime. Because how the hell does someone have a search stat of ONE!?! What am I, lazy?

All right, Fontaine/Spar is cleaning corpses, so I'll have the last remaining person, Sarasha/Logan, search the house instead.

See the number of corpses? It's 8. Exactly the same as it was before. It's so pathetic cute how Spar thinks he can actually help out! Look, he even got a mop to try and offset his cleaning stat of 1! How delusional adorable~

Oh, by the way, there are actually cleaning items in the game now, if you didn't read the patch notes for version 1.16. The mop even doubles as a weapon!

I'd suggest searching the house we just breached. Unless... we already did that...? I dunno, I just woke up, so my brain's still a bit fuzzy.

Hrm... In that case, then... Maybe I should investigate a nearby building...? Ayumu has, like, a ridiculously high investigation score, after all... Of course, we might also want to breach another building before the zombies get a chance to spread too much, but I wouldn't know what building to do, and besides that we would probably want to coordinate any such effort...

So, I guess Ayumu can investigate a nearby building.

((Umazes! D: And of course I told Logan to do something she actually has low stats in. Bah, I'm never sleeping again.))

Since Ayumu is invstigating, I'll watch for zombies around our current location.

I'm fairly certain the game arbitrarily decides how well you're going to do.

I've actually seen that post now, I went to bed before you posted that so I ended up having Logan do something she had low stats in and with the only two men in the group so...yeah, I'm lucky she didn't get killed or hurt as well, though I see her relationship with Spar is now red. They won't fight as long as they're not told to do the same task, correct?

The results do seem somewhat randomized, yeah. But I chalk this loss up mainly to the fact that I chose to breach a medium-sized empty house, which typically contains more zombies than your regular good ol' rescue clue pinatas small empty houses. Also, lack of good weapons. And the fact that there were only two people against a relatively large number of zombies.

Sadly, life isn't that easy. :( Survivors who hate each other will fight as long as they are in the same building. Making them do tasks together will just tend to make them hate each other even more. Though, I will say that their relationship looks more dark orange than red to me, which means you probably don't need to worry too much about broken limbs... for now. Regardless, it might be a good idea to keep them separated because people who dislike each other will bicker and make EVERYBODY hate each other.

I just reread the combat report, bloody hell, Ayumu bludgeoned five zombies with a sledgehammer and only got a bit of minor bruising in return? That's crazy.

The first turn, guys. I mean, we started TRYING to kill each other on the first turn, but we didn't actually succeed...

This is acceptable to me. Once he gets over explaining to everyone how the zombie apocalypse is clearly the fault of the English and could have been avoided if Bonaparte had stayed in power, he will probably be in shortage of anyone patient enough to listen to him.
