You are the smartest cat I ever met. I think that's a solid plan, baring the game tossing some insane curveball, which I am living in constant paranoid fear of. I read every update assuming one of us died.

I went and got this game as well! The original survivor thing is so much fun. I made a team consisting of Tappei, Amanohashi, Bowser, Mary Poppins and Tinky Winky. In the end, only Tappei and Mary Poppins survived the first round.

After burying the corpses of Amanohashi and Tinky in the deepest, darkest hells, I assume.

We cats are all more intelligent than we let on. It just so happens that I can talk.

Honestly, at first I was thinking about purring and meowing and putting the translation in brackets a la Link, but I'm not that patient. \o/

That is hilarious. I would pay if I actually had money to see that any day.

I feel your pain. Phones and this forum conspire to drive me insane whenever I try using them together.

Yeah, my posts take ages because I don't speak a lick of French and improvising via dictionary can take a while.

I understand French by virtue of speaking natively a romance language, but writing it is a completely different matter. Same with Portuguese and Italian, although I can understand those two better and even speak a little bit.

Still, I kinda admire your perseverance. Your posts IC are hilarious for the most part, so don't stop doing it. <3
  9. Jacquelle Hatoful Pigeon

I can read a bit of French from two quarters of French classes, but I don't get to put it into practice much. I was never able to decipher spoken French, though, because I could never tell where the breaks in the words were supposed to be. I admire your dedication to IC posts as well, god knows I haven't been.

I have a pretty good memory for language, so once I pick a word up, it's much less hassle until I have to actually construct a sentence XD. Still, if you know English, German and a fair bit of Scandinavian I can often cross-reference. If a word in English differs from the other Germanic, chances are it's a Roman word and has a French equivalent.

I have too much fun doing it to stop XD. If I die I'll just have to have his ghost haunt you all.

[ Link agrees that we try to breach the church to make a safehouse. He also agrees on the fact that we don't need duplicates of items like the flashlight. He also wants us to clean up corpses before we take the food to the church,so that the food doesn't spoil. He thinks a barricade is a good idea, he will gladly keep watch so that the "redeads" don't surprise them. After we've barricaded, he thinks we should try and breach other houses to find this.. "car" thing, ASAP.]

Gosset has a point. Food is a valuable ressource. We must do what we can to preserve it. Why he seems to think playing music to it helps is beyond me, but, tout de meme, he is right that wherever we stay for a time, we must clean up the corpses.

Good point about the corpses, although they shouldn't be a problem if we move the snacks on the first breach. Still, we can find useful things while cleaning them, like ammo! Har har har ha...

Places we could breach next... well, we could finish up that halfway searched house, or we could breach the one at the bottom, right next to the station.

I think two flashlights would be good, and also that buildings have flashlights in them. The stereos are useful for making small distractions, but we can use the cans of gasoline for pretty much the same thing but amplified. I've never seen spotting scopes in my game, but they sound pretty useful. Even so, I doubt we will need four of 'em.

  14. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

Apparently the only cats he doesn't like are Jellicle Cats.

Remember we suck at modifying things in general, so maybe the scopes aren't much use to us. Does it work that way?

Just a note, even 3 stars in modifications can get things done pretty quick, so it might be prudent to consider modding some stuff.
  16. Davian Korran Hatoful Pigeon

Thanks! In that case I say we keep the scopes. We seem to have some decent snipers, so maybe we can modify some of these weapons useful for long distance shots?

As a general thing, maybe we should make a post of the things we all agree on when everyone's had a look and put the plan of action together for Ana's convenience?

My Japanese is pretty atrocious, beginner-intermediate level. Errr. I'd rather not wrestle with iTunes. I might look into buying it, if I ever finish my other games.

I think I played it on some website ages ago. It was a lot of fun, but I don't remember if I finished it or not LOL. I played Heroes of Jin Yong (it plays like a strategy RPG? DOS game) when I was younger. Oh oh, there's an RPG based on Return of the Condor Heroes and Chinese Paladin! Now I want to play. sdjfhsdkj.

I admire the effort of translating and conveying the culture and atmosphere and ideas surrounding wuxia, which is so foreign. and those descriptions of tea and alcohol! I want to run away just thinking about trying to translate them.

Let us take consensus. As per the advice of the upstanding, impressively moustachioed gentleman who claimed to be surgeon or engineer 'or the likes', I believe our plan for proceeding is the following.

    1) Bring all feeding provisions and a few selections of muskets and ammunitions. No fighting.
    2) Breach the church for the soothing effect of the presence of le bon Dieu.
    3) Clean corpses to spare the provisons. Barricade quietly. No fighting.
    4) Fetch weapons and ammunitions to stockpile in the church.
    5) While this goes on barricade and set traps.
    6) Fetch weapons until done. Then the vehicle parts. No fighting.
    7) When food stockpiles reach 6, breach provision markets and search fully for food and clues.
    8) When idling, have someone modify our longdistance weaponry with the scopes. Apparently it should improve their 'sniping' capabilities which I am told is a good thing.

    Bon? And no fighting.

Pretty much, yes. We can discard redundant guns and tools to try and reduce the amount of trips we'll need to make.

Also, something that had gone unmentioned is the amount of time it'll take. If I'm not miscalculating, it will take one hour to get there an one hour to get back, without counting the breaching process if there were any. So each trip would take 2~4 hours, and I think with our current weight capacity we would need three or four trips. That means that we'll take at best six hours and at worst twelve, most probably somewhere in between.

I have a feeling that we are missing something, a gut feeling. Then again, it's probably the hangover talking. orz

If we can smash skulls with a baseball bat and fire handguns, I'm pretty sure I can manage the... lever? How did you call the palanca in English? while Waffles throws himself at the pedals. And one of you humans can manipulate the wheel, since it can't be that hard.

I don't think you need to worry about being unable to operate the vehicle. If Link sits down in it, a fairy, random passerby, or that damn owl will show up.

"Link! This is a car! Press the right pedal to move, and the left pedal to stop. Use the gearshift to select from forwards, reverse, or park!"
