I haven't read the book, but I'm actually looking forward to the film. It looks fun in an absurd, not taking itself seriously way. :)

Has anyone tried to do a run made up of just bartenders or police officers yet? Even better, has anyone tried to survive with a team of librarians?

I think you're talking about my batshit experience and while I really want to say that that sounds helpful it honestly just... Doesn't. All it means is I maybe have a little bit of warning before they kill someone/everyone, and they're even more likely to totally screw me over. That's... sort of disappointing.

I wonder if you can remove dilemmas the same way you can add them.

Anyway, if Javert is making traps, what do the rest of you want to do while waiting to fall asleep? Might have enough energy left for a breach, if you're lucky, but I'd plan carefully.

I don't think it's a good idea to breach now, since if the four of us do breach we'd leave Monsieur l'Inspecteur alone, and if one of us stays we'd only have three tired fighters.

I'd take it easy and patrol (or watch if noone else does so).

I do not mind being watched while I sleep, but I shall be very cross with whomever believes it amusing to divest me of my hair ribbon while I am not conscious. Theft is a crime and it is not a laughing matter.

(Yes, I was thinking leaving him alone sleeping near a half-finished guillotine might be a problem, too)

Can I make a quick note Flonne's RP is making me want to replay OoT like mad? And the idea of Link keeping watch while Javert sleeps surrounded by trap part is oddly touching.

Yeah, my Madoka Magica team used to be all police officers before they put in the custom career editor and I made them puella magi instead. And I've been meaning to try an all-librarian run since forever, but my brother HAS done it, and apparently they couldn't even breach a small harmless house without half the team getting injured and/or dying. I'd totally LP an all-librarian run though, if people are up for it. :D

I don't know, I think it's pretty helpful. The tweaks also make traps, patrolling survivors, and good relationships have more effect on killing mobsters, so I think you'll be rewarded for preparing for the mob well. More important, I think, is the fact that they're going to start tracking dilemma stats. The developers put out patches and updates at an astounding rate, so I have faith that they're going to use that information to fine-tune the dilemma even further. In the meantime though, I agree that a tool to turn off dilemmas might be useful if the mob really bothers you that much. I'll go ask if that's possible.

Kaneda/Kaneda does not have an action in so far because Flonne took away the watching/patrolling job, and has voted for letting the survivors fall asleep before continuing to breach.

For an all Ib run I'd say Mary, Garry, Ib, Guertena, and a Red Lady. Just to keep everyone on their toes.

By the way, Snark, about the mod:

The developers said that they're not planning to add an option to disable dilemmas, because they'd rather balance the dilemmas so they work better (the next patch, 1.161, should help with that), but one of them will make a mod JUST FOR YOU so you can remove that dilemma from your game entirely. It'll take a few days though, because they need to get version 1.161 out first.

That's very, very nice of them- the dilemma itself isn't so much what bothers me as the FREQUENCY. I've played through some more games and I am getting it every single time, usually two or three times until they kill all my survivors. If it was every couple of games, sure, I could deal with that. But I am always, constantly getting it to the point it is SERIOUSLY detracting from my game experience because the game's pretty much become 'try desperately to arm up for the mob' instead of 'try to keep everyone alive to get rescued'. I... Didn't pay $15 to play mob-dodger.

I feel you, sis :( While you're waiting for them to make the mod, maybe try to do more barricading? The mob is less likely to attack secured or fortified places.

Yeah, it was Vide that hated the mob. I'm the one who misunderstood the term to mean mobsters, and spent a considerable time thinking zafehouse featured wandering gangs of prohibition era gangsters for some reason.

It's more FUN that way.
