Let's Survive Zafehouse: Diaries!

In light of bladed skipping ropes, I'm disappointed we can't modify chess sets for assaults.

Re-reading the diary. I lost it at page 207: "Apparently, Javert was something of an activist. He was leader of the National Association for Concerned Inspecteurs, Heros and Heros."

Yeaahhh, that was because Javert and Link were trying to fix the station wagon together and getting on each other's nerves. That rumour fixed everything though! :D

I WANT MEMBERSHIP.

It also boggles the mind how we didn't even get one single injury as far as I can tell when I remember the first team limping around. I know theirs were mostly unfriendly wardrobe fire, but NOT EVEN ONE. Are zombies that scared of adorable animals?

Making custom careers with great stats really helped on that one. The previous runs all included at least one character that was completely fucking useless in combat situations (librarian and musician), and having great relationships really goes a long way in making combat situations a piece of cake. The police officer is also probably the best class in the game. And most importantly, because we were doing Road Kill mode, I was free to play much more cautiously on this route, since there's no time limit and I can spend as much time as I want assaulting and/or sniping locations before the breach.

Also, since we're doing the Rebuild 2 mini-LP as a follow up on the adventures of Zelda and her trusty retainers after they escaped the city, everybody should vote on:

• Town name
• Size of city: Small/Typical/Big/Huge
• Difficulty: Pretty Easy/Kind of Tough/Challenging/Seriously Hard/Impossible

Davian Korran, Jacquelle, soundlyParanoid, Kaneda, and Flonne, please tell me what class you want your characters to be. Choose from Soldiers, Builders, Scavengers, Scientists, and Leaders. If you don't reply, I'll simply assign you one based on your Zafehouse: Diaries occupation.

The town name I'll leave to the creative ones. Size... dunno, typical? As for difficulty, I would go no harder than challenging. No idea of how to play this game after all.

Make me a soldier or a leader, whatever is needed most.

I am so tempted to say small town named Montreil-sur-mer.

I suppose Javert would be closest to a soldier. He'd make a lousy leader, anyway.

Cat hasn't got anything up yet either, don't worry. I think primarily she wanted confirmation people wanted to attend as well as whether you'd mind her using two new mods, and what mode to play.

If the worst comes to pass, I'd like to be an understudy/back-up survivor. Or participate in the next round.

Yeah! You can find all of them here. There aren't a lot of them though; the two I pulled up are basically the only ones worth using, though there's one that adds a new dilemma called "booby trap" that sounds kinda interesting. Apparently it's buggy though, so I didn't want to use it for the LP.

Speaking of mods, my computer refuses to download the "burial" mod since it's apparently some kind of virus, so we'll just be running with the "backpack items" mod instead. Hurrah!

Randomletters, you may want to watch the character's occupation stats, though. I think in general we're supposed to keep the stat tally at 6.

Combat and social abilities, if possible? For what I've seen so far it seems like a sage thing to train in.

I'm torn on Javert in Social. On the one hand; he was the most popular survivor when we started. On the other hand: JAVERT.

Let's go for more balanced occupations for now, which means 6 points total. Maybe Strong 2, Smart 1, Perceptive 1, Resilient 2? If we're bored with runs where people die all the frickin' time, then we might have a run where everybody is an overpowered 12-point superhero or whatever LOL.

You sure you don't want to give me a 270x270 image for your character? :D I'll use your avatar if you want to, but it might be a little strange for the other survivors to keep talking to a goldfish in a lightbulb. :D

While I do agree that 10 points is a bit excessive, I feel as if not all stats are equal, and that the 6 point system might be better as a guideline than a rule.

One of my custom survivors is Asellus whose custom career has 7 points (3 smart 2 strong 2 perceptive), and she was far and away my least useful survivor, compared to the other 4 who just used the default jobs.

Thing is, the default jobs don't fit into the point-system perfectly, and may not be balanced anyway. The police officer, for example, can be considered overpowered, while the librarian is underpowered. Plus, the default jobs have certain other traits or checks that may help them do better in certain situations. Like the cleaner is always awesome at cleaning up corpses, for example.

I guess what I'm saying is using the default jobs is actually a pretty good idea, since they tend to have additional abilities that make the game more fun. Like the musician, for example. Too bad we never found a guitar in the previous run so Spar never got to show off his LEET music skills.

He did get to show off his leet pissing everyone off while cleaning up the dead skills.

I hope I don't regret this, but... For now I think I'm good with my avatar. I shall be the perceptive, police officer goldfish.

I love how we've had one canon policeman in this and he was a custom class. The police in Zafeworld seems to consist entirely of various household pets.

Kaneda wants some social abilities, so I'll get her some points in leadership. There isn't really an equivalent to the leadership stat in Zafehouse: Diaries, so I'll just ignore it for the rest of the survivors. If they get some leadership, fine; if not, no biggie.

Combat
Everybody will get a 10 in combat. Why? Because they're hardcore zombie-killers, that's why.

As for Snark, you'll just get most of your points in science (despite having no degree in any science-related field whatsoever) and probably some combat. Travelling through space and time has probably scrambled your abilities somewhat anyway.
