My recommendation: make a group of Decepticons. My first attempt lasted a whopping three hours- all five of them died by 9 AM. Then the second time they killed Starscream.

There isn't, unfortunately. Best you can do is to keep starting a new game until you get the prejudices you need.

    ...
Well, I don't mind! See see, I'm using these wood scraps to improve it, splintered wood hurts a lot and gets stuck in you, so then you can fight even when there's no real space to shoot... Guns are stupid weapons all on their own, aren't they?

It's time for more Rebuild 2!

We hunted, we built, we scavenged. Just your normal everyday zombocalypse life. Things of note that happened:

Oh, Javvie, try as you might you can't hide your love for adorable fluffy little animals from us <3

    FUCKING JUDGEMENT GANG

Just 24 food? What a bunch of pussies. Where I come from, gangs don't steal food, they just KILL EVERYBODY.

And anyway we have lots of food stocked up anyway, so whatever. Psssh.

Bleh. Dick choppers. Don't trust 'em, don't need 'em.

Javert finally finished his research! I can put him to clearing and reclaiming the police station now, yay!

Also, you should vote on what we should research next:
    • Signalling: Increases chances of recruiting survivors.
    • Stealth: Makes it safer to scavenge or kill zombies far away.
    • Preservation: Get more food from scavenging and stop it from going bad.
As well as who you want to dump into the research facilities for the next few weeks, if you want to. Please assign at least one person with high science skills.

Currently, everybody except for Javert, Ayumu, and Link are off killing zombies (noted by the little gun symbols over the locations), but you can still give me actions and plans for after that. Speaking of zombies, we also managed to recruit four of them over the past few turns! They all seem really fit and strong, for people who are mostly dead (read: all soldiers). I've mostly been using them to scout out new locations; you wouldn't believe how much it's possible to communicate just by shuffling and grunting. Though I did send one along with Zelda to clear some zombies out; it seems to have developed a taste for rotting flesh, so I'm sure it'll work out just fine. :3

    (Survivor skills updated.)

Either preservation or stealth... eh, let's go for stealth. I'll vote for a person once the survivor skills are updated. Stick Javvie in the lab. If DK wants to, of course.

Just keep me killing or recruiting zombies or reclaiming and it'll be a-ok for me. As for where should I kill, well, I think we should have another lab when that nutcase appears. I dunno though, maybe it would be best to breach defensive spots? I HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

Questions: Is 10 the definitive cap? Can you raise skills above 10 with objects? Are there any skills that govern bartending, preaching and farming? How do defensive buildings work? Should I stop being lazy and google all these things myself?
  8. Anabanana Hatoful Pigeon

    Location:
    DIS PEAR
Nah, why google when you can just ask here.

10 is the definitive cap; you can't raise it more with items. I think bartending/preaching is better done by people with high leadership, but I typically never bartend or preach so other people should correct me if I'm wrong. Farming doesn't require any special skill. Once you reclaim a police station, it gives you +15 defense, period. Sort of the same with malls, but you get additional defense if you barricade them, which you can only do after you've reclaimed the mall and only with somebody with a building skill of higher than 3.

EDIT: Okay, I just tested it out, and apparently, the higher your leadership skill is, the faster you'll get the +1 happiness. 0 leadership people generate 1 happiness every 4 days. Zelda has 9 leadership right now and she's generating 1 happiness everyday, so yeah.
  9. soundlyParanoid Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I'm voting continuing with the anti-zombie research just so we can be over the other random ass way people can croak.

Alternatively we can learn how to farm. Yee-haw.

Also we might want to either make a beeline for that lab next to the allmart before a certain jerk shows up.

Can't we just kick him out when he comes? But yeah, lab, gotcha.
  11. soundlyParanoid Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yes, I guess we could but he can be a bit testy.
  12. Ozzo Hatoful Pigeon

(I believe malls don't add to defense unless you barricade them, but it's been a while since I've played.

As for items, they artificially raise characters' skill levels. The game remembers the character's actual skill level, but an item boosts a level as long as it is wielded, up to a level of 10. Using a pistol on a level 10 Soldier, for example, won't make your character any more effective.)
  13. Sarasha Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Oh, so you're a cop? Hey, I promise that the worse thing I've ever had were a couple of parking tickets, and those have been taken care of. Though if I had known all this was going to happen...

Um, I've been eating the same stuff you do. I haven't been chewing it any more than I usually do. I did have some chewing gum before I arrived here, but that's all gone now. So uh, do you need any help or are you good?

((I vote for Preservation. Logan should continue to assist with any reclamation efforts. Looking at the skills, looks like either Javert or Link would be a good choice for research. What do you guys think?))
((To be fair, killing Starscream isn't necessarily a bad idea.))

I see. Thanks for the clarification!

Well, if we are going to have a limited number of survivors, we should probably try raise our defense as much as possible. I think at some point hordes just come and keep coming, right? We should be prepared when that moment comes.
  15. Anabanana Hatoful Pigeon

    Location:
    DIS PEAR
Zombie hordes happen at random AFAIK, unless you do certain things in which case yeah, you get waves and waves of 'em.

Also I think we decided not to have a limited number of survivors. We're just going to recruit zombies (read: not a past survivor) to fill our ranks. :D
  16. soundlyParanoid Already Beat BF's New Expansion

As far as I know hordes only keep coming and coming if you've activated one of the game ending quests - we actually could start on one right now since there is the helipad right next to us and maybe clearing out that giant horde of zombies wouldn't be a terrible idea.

Is that a vote for reclaiming the helipad ASAP? :D

Nah, I'll pull people off farming and stuff if we need them to defend. They'll get good at fighting anyway since we'll be attacked by zombies fairly regularly.
  19. soundlyParanoid Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    not necessarily reclaiming it.

As for other things: Reclaiming the police station - yes. Reclaim the mall and barricade it, Yes. Reclaim the Lab YES.

Research alllllll the antizombie stuff with our dedicated team of experts. Also reclaim those farms you've already started clearing out of zombies, and then food and survivors. I also want our surplus hospital turned into an apartment building.
  23. Jacquelle Hatoful Pigeon

Research anti-zombie stuff, put all the soldier zombies on guard duty, and then recruit, scavenge, and reclaim the mall.

But don't reclaim the mall until we get those suburbs reclaimed, so we can still get the survivors.

So, remember how I said at the beginning at this round that I wouldn't give any advice whatsoever? And that I wouldn't do anything unless specifically told to? I really meant it, you know? :D

Namely, you all forgot (or just didn't know) that there's no such thing as "helping somebody to modify stuff". If multiple people try to modify for close combat, they will all choose different items to modify. Frankly, I'm quite surprised nobody caught it - we have quite a few people who've actually played the game following this round.

It's not that big of deal though; we just lost a few hours that could've been better spent assaulting and/or breaching or doing ANYTHING ELSE even remotely productive while the survivors, with no orders from the voices in their heads, just idled around doing things that were of absolute no significance whatsoe-

    A... a bladed hangun?

    And a... vicious... saucepan...?

    A VICIOUS.

    MOTHERFUCKING.

    SAUCEPAN?!

(You'll have to use your imagination for this one, because no image Google spits out at me can match the magnificence conjured up by those two words.)

Have I said I love this game? Because I love this game.

Sorry, did you say something? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my brain imploding at the sight of that inventory.

    vicious saucepan ahahahaha vicious saucepan

Your relationships are still horrible, but that's okay! You have the power of the vicious saucepan. Who could possibly lose with a weapon like that on their hands? (Even though it has a mediocre close combat stat of 2. I mean, who cares about insignificant things like stats when your name is THE VICIOUS SAUCEPAN.)

(I did catch the modify thing since it was a problem back in the reboot with Mary making traps and Snark wanting to modify the non-existant quietness of their stuff, but I figured, eh, if they can't hear us over the Schadenfreude caused by a certain curse invoked on us in our run... I'm becoming as petty as the survivors themselves, aren't I?

Real explanation being I was busy trying cursing at my browser constantly killing A New Mode Called Road Kill, which seemed more important to me at the time.

I also love how Rebuild generally seems to assign all the fluffy emotional notes to Javert and the really harsh ones to Zelda.)
Parking... ticket? Chewing...? Non... no one can help me...

*Javert walks off muttering under his breath about the madness of this place, then kneels and folds his hands.*

Bon Dieu... Until the pressure upon this place wears off, I am not free to continue my hunt. Preserving what is had value, and if it is the wish of the others, I shall research until such a time I can reclaim my old home.

(Because I have an idea Javert just roomed at the police station half the time. The Anthony Perkins Javert lived in a cell at Toulon for the first part of the story and watching himself lock himself in was oddly adorable and very heartbreaking.)
