Well, it's Christmas here. Never mind those of you living where time is all wrong or where you don't celebrate for another day.
Hey there all, I hope you all enjoy your holidays and may all be true for when the next holiday comes.
For the longest time, I had problems remembering if Christmas was on the 24th or 25th. 24 just seems like a more holiday date. 25 sounds like the "still relatively comatose from all the food you ate" date.
I always remembered that Christmas Eve is the 24th because it can't be the 23rd since 23 is a prime number. It made sense to me at the time.
Come down to the Christ-X Speedway, SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY! We've got Christ, big Christ, monster Christ! Shake hands with the devil at the Christ-X Speedway! SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!
Merry Christmas to you all! (Not being some kind of crazy European - I'm just not sure about what access to the interwebs we'll have at the in-laws so I want to wish you all a great Christmas before I leave civilization)
Mother-in-law: We can go see a movie Xmas day! Me: Sure, anything good out? MIL: Less Miserables. (That's the way she pronounced it.) Me: Oh,um, okay. MIL: That's the one where the guy gets locked up and they won't let him out, right? Me: No, Mom, that's The Count of Monte Cristo. MIL: {sounding very disappointed} Oh. What's it about, then? Me: I have no idea. It's a musical. MIL: {sounding even more disappointed} Oh. Nevermind, then. I laughed. She's adorable.
Happy christmas from my idyllic snowed-in corner of the world. I'm waiting for my aunt and her family to arrive, then Santa will show up and hand out presents in front of the fireplace and after that we will stuff ourselves on grandma's julbord.
I'm at work. Merry X-mas indeed. And Athryn you're wrong. I like Les Mis a lot, but there are a number of Sondheim musicals I'd put in front of it starting with Into the Woods.
Most relaxed Christmas ever. Easy dinner for four with no stress turned out perfect, now I'm drinking the rest of a very nice Barolo, while hey kids are watching a crappy movie. Once again merry Christmas.
