My Sexy Skill Has Increased! Let's Play A Dance with Rogues

So I got this, and was excitedly making a new character going all "I have no idea of what I'm doing! :')" and after half an hour of cruising through generated names, I found one that I liked and clicked Play.

Then my character didn't meet the requeriments and I was a sad princess.

We kill some more Dhorn in the sewers on the way to Barich's Tavern.

Alfons is there. So is Vico. Everyone else seems to be missing. I don't like the look of this.





"Break into a Dhorn castle, together with Vico?! Forget it!"

"The hunting lodge will probably be heavily guarded. This is NOT a mission for a lone man. Or woman."

"Stop acting like a spoilt little girl, birdie. You know that you're no match for a Dhorn."

"Times have changed."

I took down three Dhorn, all by myself, just the other day. I could probably take down Vico.

"We cannot take any risks, Riona. Too much depends on you. Please."

"Alright, but it may well be that Vico finds a dagger in his back during the course of this mission."



Pia frowns at Vico. "Where were you anyway when the Dhorn attacked the Bear Pit?"



"He just came back from Sargoza an hour ago."

"Do you really think I'd stay away from a fight like that, Pia darling? Speaking of." Vico regards Anden. "Who's that guy?"

"Anden Goodmanner. I'm a ranger."

"He's a friend of Riona's."



Anden blushes. I roll my eyes. This is not going to be a pleasant journey.

So, yeah, I'm sorry for not censoring Vico in this exchange. His awfulness just kind of needed to be shown. You can consider this his baseline level of dialogue for most of the party banter I don't show in the future.

(Confession: I haven't done this for Neverwinter Nights, but when I'm bored I roll up and save Baldur's Gate 2 characters, complete with names it took hours to figure out and portraits I cropped from somebody's DeviantArt, that I have no intentions of playing. It's actually oddly relaxing.)

I like how quickly everyone feels threatened by Anden, one of the only real nice guys ingame. Then they try to brush him off as soon as possible.

Augh. When can we kill Vico. No time is soon enough.

Urgh, I really want to decapitate Vico's head. Both of them.

We head out of the city through a hidden tunnel in an abandoned house.



The air is damp and smells of bat dung. Pia and Anden start snipping back and forth over how bad the smell is. It's bad enough having Vico with us; I don't have the patience to babysit.



"I hope that mist isn't poisonous."







"Ah, it is good to be out in the countryside again."

"Speak for yourself."

"A grave. Go figure." Vico points down into the pit. A weathered sarcophagus covers most of the bottom.

"Well, at least it's unlikely that anybody would suspect that there's this tunnel below it."

We follow the road north to King's Forest. Vico charges ahead, and Pia follows him. She seems to trust him a little more than I do. I hang back and talk to Anden.

"I never knew that you wanted to accompany me for a while, Anden."

"I owe it to you. For what you did for me. I hope that is okay?" He gives me an uncertain look.

"Of course. It's nice to have you with me."

He smiles. "My sword arm is yours to command, M'lady!"

"Just your arm?"

I shouldn't tease him, but he's cute when he blushes.

Yeah, I know nobody voted for the Anden romance. I'm getting the flirts out now before we get on someone else's path.

Yessssss. We should cut off his head and stick it on a pike and carry it around as a warning to all jerkfaces and use it as a warning to never ever mess with us. Ever.

"Please tell me a bit about yourself, Anden."

"There's not much to tell, Lady Riona. I'm a ranger. I do my best to serve people and Mother Nature."

"I was interested in something a little more personal, perhaps. Like where you grew up and such."

"I do not like speaking of myself, I'm afraid I'd only bore you." He looks away.

"How could such a handsome ranger ever bore me?"

I smile at him. He blushes again. He's too shy, I think. Shy, but nice. I hope I can protect him.





"Ah, the joys of traveling. How I've missed this."

"At least it's not snowing."

"Actually, snow would be much preferable. It wouldn't turn the road into a muddy river like this."

"Are you actually complaining, Ranger Boy?"

"Hardly. But we should reach a roadhouse soon, if my memory serves me right."



"An inn sounds great. I'm soaked wet."

Anden's eyes linger on me. Vico snorts.

"I'm afraid it's not your clothes what the ranger thought of."

Anden clears his throat. "I, uh... In any case... It would be prudent if we approached the inn carefully. It's entirely possible that the Dhorn we are after have decided to stop over at the inn, too."

"Only one way to find out."

The inn is abandoned, and has been for some time. Everything is covered with a thick layer of dust. Everyone must have left during the Dhorn invasion. That, or they were killed.

"Guess we can count ourselves lucky that this place hasn't attracted a goblin tribe or anything."

We head upstairs to the bedrooms.



"Too bad there's nobody here you could complain to."

"I'd never complain, Pia darling. I'd just burn down the house, slay the innkeeper and screw his daughter. If she's comely."

There's only one dry bed in the whole place. I put my things down in the corner and take a moment to think. The Sleeping Troll is a strange name for an inn.



I feel Vico's hand on my bottom. "Birdie? Are you dreaming?"

"Take your hand away."

"And if I don't?"

"I'm not in the mood for your games, Vico."

"Don't be such an asshole all the time, Vico."



I've been speaking for myself this whole time. But I'm sure he doesn't think it counts unless I'm saying "yes."

Anden clears his throat. "Perhaps it would be better if we left the room to the lady... We should just sleep outside, in the corridor."

"You know, ranger, sharing your bed with women is why most people bother with them at all."

Vico sprawls himself out on the bed. Pia reluctantly lies down next to him, as far away as possible. Anden makes himself comfortable on the floor. I curl up beside him and try to rest.

We travel north for another few hours.







We look around for another way in, without much luck.





I strip off my armor and get ready to swim across.

"Now I'm beginning to like your plan, birdie."

Anden blushes at me and looks away.

"Be careful!"

The water's freezing cold. I swim across, trying not to make any splashing noises.



I finally find a place to crawl ashore.















I feel myself falling, and then everything suddenly goes dark.

This is coming from an adorable cat and a Togepi. Albeit an angry Togepi, but a Togepi. Vico, this is what you do to people.

Not only that, but note that Pia has moved from the bed to the floor at some point during the night. Vico, WHAT DID YOU DO.

When I was in middle/high school, she would suddenly burst into my room, turn on the light, walk over, and shout at me to wake up.

I would wake up with my heart racing and screaming every time.
it was....it was horrible.

This is how my sister used to wake me. She also liked to throw a cold, wet washcloth at me if I didn't get up fast enough.

Cripes. My dad used to play the accordion at me. I thought that was as bad as it got.

It's just an engine limitation where you can't actually show someone lying down on a bed. But I prefer your explanation.

NGL, that sounds seriously entertaining.

Yeah, uh, on those rare occasions when I was required to wake up my sister I'd just gently shake her arm until the woke up. For some reason she seemed to appreciate that more than my mother's approach, which involved being as loud and obnoxious as possible.

If someone wakes me up like that, I'll be goddamnet pissed off for the rest of the day. There's a reason I put soft music as my waking alarm and get up earlier than everyone else :c

I'm the heaviest sleeper ever, so if someone tries to wake me up by yelling and being generally obnoxious the most I do is grumble at them in my sleep, then roll over and not remember any of it. It's more an exercise in futility for them than an annoyance for me.

Wish I could sleep as deep as that, it's really annoying to wake up at butt o' clock because the cat is walking up the stairs.

So, yesterday I was playing ADWR, and the dark-skinned sailor came to me asking for sex. I said yes, because I needed the ring, and then he gave it to me before going to the warehouse. When the warehouse finished loading, he wasn't there and I was free to leave untainted. It was the bestest.

Then I tried doing Pia's quest and found that she wasn't there either. And there, I kinda rage quit without saving. Because that's how I roll.

The sailor thing is a very common glitch. As for Pia, I have no idea.

I wake up in a cell. Of course I wake up in a cell. At least they left me my clothes this time, although my weapons are gone.



The other cells are empty. Did the Dhorn take Master Nathan and the others here, or have we already missed them? I head upstairs, hoping to find something more useful.



Suddenly, I feel a sharp, pointy object pressing into my back.





Simon? I killed him! He was dead!

"Surprised to see us, little coo?" He smirks at me. "You didn't exactly say goodbye to me. At least not in a way I would have liked. You're fortunate it was Simon's double you've killed at Betancuria."

A double? Then they knew someone was planning an assassination. I feel a pang of regret for the man who died in Simon's place. I didn't mean to kill someone who didn't deserve it.

That ranger looks familiar, though.

"I've seen you before. At the Smugglers' Cove. The tower with the orcs. I thought you were dead?"



"Getting out of that cell wasn't that difficult."

"For a noblewoman, and a princess at that, you have a couple of quite remarkable talents, M'lady."

"Hehehe, you can say that again!"

"I think you're mistaking me for somebody else."



The young man smiles shyly at me.

"You're not collaborating with the Dhorn, are you?"



"You're friend told us everything about you, Princess Riona. You're here in order to find out where our soldiers have taken that old barkeeper and his comrades to. I'm afraid those people aren't here anymore. Lord Commander Mortenson ordered them to be taken to a more secure pace. He's a careful man. If he knew who you are, you'd most likely have joined those criminals already."

"If I didn't know better, I'd say no way she's the Princess. She acts and moves like she's lived in the streets for her whole life."

I guess I adapt well, then. I'll take it as a compliment.

"You cannot be serious!"

"I'm serious. Due to some unforeseen happenings, one of my associates is dead, and you might be the right one to replace him. If you do what I want, I'll give you the whereabouts of those people from Betancuria you seek, and I'll let you go."

"And why should I trust you?"

"My interests lie elsewhere, not at Betancuria. I don't care what you'll do once we've done this job as I'll be back in Dhorn."



I don't really have a choice. I can't escape right now, but if I go with them, I might get an opportunity later on. Or maybe I'll get lucky and Simon will keep his word.

"We'll be off in two hours."



"And if I don't want to have fun with you?"

"Then we'll just chain you to a pole."

"Leave her be. It's not exactly a good way to start this if you rape her."

Implying that it would be acceptable in other situations? But points for trying, Simon.

"You're no fun tonight."

"You'll have plenty of fun soon enough."

So speaking of being a heavy sleeper.

Last night I went to bed a little after midnight... and then woke up at 6:00 p.m. when my husband came home and was like, "Hey, you're still in bed, are you feeling sick?"

Well, I guess I am =/

Might update later if I feel a little more conscious.

Uh-oh, that's not good at all. I hope it was just a bit of fatigue and you bounce back quick. Don't worry about updates, focus on feeling better.

I have finished playing Part 1, though (and ran into more bugs towards the end than I ever have in my previous playthroughs). Not much longer to go!

As excited as I am for the Vico murder that will undoubtedly come, health comes first. I... I think. Yes.

Well, the sleep thing wasn't happening tonight, but I made soup and drank orange juice, so there's that. And now, the last quest of Part 1!















"Thanks for everything. You've been a loyal servant."

Simon gives the servant a password and tells him to lock the grate and escape if anything goes wrong.











"Hehehe. We're going to rob the bank, little coo!"



"And we're going to get us that treasure tonight, little coo!"

"How much money are we talking about?"

"About twenty-five million gold coins."

"You do know that this money actually belongs to me, right?"

"Hehe, hardly."

"Now was there anything else we need to discuss? Or could we get started?"

"How about you tell me about Master Nathan and the others right now?"

"Currently they're on a ship heading for Westwood. They'll be brought to the Isle of Prisoners, in Dhorn. Now let's go. The tunnel's going to bring us to the cellars below the Dhorn Headquarters. I'll tell you more once we're there."

We head through the tunnel and eventually come to a place where we can break through the stone wall.











"I'll do my best."

The traps are no problem, but we find something unusual behind the door.





"Not worse than you."

"Funny."

Simon frowns. "I've never seen those jellies here before."

"Perhaps you should give orders to keep the tunnel in better shape. Once we're done, that is."

"I could think of a few people I'd like to see cleaning this up."

"Should I?"

"As far as I know, they're the only connection between Castle Betancuria and the city. Apart from the castle gates, of course. There's only one passage left. It'll get us right into the castle's basement."



Simon leads us downstairs, into a room filled with torture equipment.



"I didn't know we had a torture chamber in the castle."

"Creepy." Jero looks around. "Or did we install this?"

"No. These chambers were just like this when we found them."

"Oh, look. What a pleasant surprise." Colonel Arto Benthur beams a smile at me.









"You've committed a severe crime against the Empire, Simon! Not even I will be able to get you out of this!"

"Stand aside and let us pass, Peron."

"You know I can't do that."

"You're not going to get us that easily."

A fireball flies from Alen's hands.



Simon drags me back into the vault room. Jero and Alen fall behind us. Simon pulls me into the vault and slams the door.



"I have always told Peron that his men sucked at shooting."

"But Alen and Jero didn't make it..."

"Nothing I can do about at the moment. I just hope they won't mutilate the corpses so I may have a chance to revive them later."

He's so blase about it. Is that what happens when reviving someone is so easy? I feel angry at him for having access to this power. Someone like him doesn't deserve it. But I could have used it for my parents... for Tony... for Caron...

Simon thinks for a moment, analyzing the situation.





"Maybe a rat hole."

Simon rummages through his pockets, producing a yellowed parchment after a few moments. "Polymorph Self. It might turn us into something small enough to crawl through that hole. How good are you at casting spells from a scroll?"

I study the scroll. It'll turn us both into mice, and then we can escape.

"You're really lucky to have me with you."







"Uhm..."

Well, the next part will involve me needing to censor things, so this seems like a good place to stop.

"I have, of course."

"I'll gladly introduce you to all the things men and women do together, my dear." He studies my naked shape. "Although the stony ground might be a little uncomfortable."

He might be joking, trying to make this less uncomfortable for both of us. His tone is still serious, though. At least with Jero, vile as he is, I know where I stand.

"I don't think we have time for that."

"Let's get dressed."

"Yes, please."

"Fuck." He hectically starts searching through his belongings which lie in a pile on the floor.

"What's wrong?"

"My armor's gone. And my weapons, too."



"Ah, that's just great." He snickers softly.

"I don't find this funny. Do you have an idea how much my weapons and my clothes are worth?"

And without them, I don't know if I could defend myself against you...

"The stuff we're missing is probably still in the vault room. I'll refund you once we're out of here."

"With what? Your gold seems to be missing, too."

"First, we need to get out of here. Then I'll see about Alen and Jero. Then comes the gold."

"You're really worried about your friends, aren't you?"

"Yeah." He looks around. "I assume this cavern isn't familiar to you either?"

"Now that you mention it, this is my former bedroom."

"Okay. Let's see where we are."

The tunnel is dark and damp. There are some large, glowing mushrooms growing on the walls.

"At least we're not gonna starve, with all these mushrooms around."

"You think we can eat them?"

"Alen would know. Damn fool, sacrificing himself like that."



Or we could eat lizards, although I wouldn't count on them not being poisonous, or at least very unpleasant.

"Good thing those lizards weren't around when we were mice. I'm sure they'd have appreciated a little meat." He looks around. "I doubt that these caves are actually still part of Castle Betancuria. These tunnels do not seem to be man-made."

We continue down the tunnel. Eventually, there's nowhere to go but up.



"Perhaps this leads back into the castle."





"Stop staring at me!"

"It's difficult to look at anything else when your butt fills out most of my view."

"A true knight would have gone first, you know."



"Hey!!"

I wonder if I could get out of here without Simon's help. Have I become too dependent on my weapons and armor, so that my wits aren't enough anymore?

But probably they were never enough, and I just got lucky.

"You probably don't know these chambers either?"

"I don't think so. It's difficult for me to tell. When I lived here, the corridors were always lit, and crowded with people."

How could everything fall apart like this, in such a short time?

Looks like we've just climbed out of the garbage pit. Which would explain the presence of those lizards down below. I wish I had some sort of weapon." He looks about.

"Some clothes wouldn't be bad, either."

He studies me for a couple of moments. "I find it difficult to picture you clad in silk gowns, strolling through thsi castle with your ladies-in-waiting trailing after you."

I wish he'd just stop talking. I don't want to think about it. Being here again... I don't want to cry in front of someone like him.

"I find it difficult to picture you in silk gowns, too."

"Heaven forbid!" He laughs.

We look around. There's nothing here but a locked door. I'm worried about what might be through it.

"You never let any of your servant boys under your skirts?"

"Of course not!"

"Would that you had. Then you might know your way around here."
