A move called "Heart Break" that I discovered was a dark-type when it one-shotted Sara (listed as being "Not very effective", to boot) and Tewi (super effective). Becca got hit with a critical fire-type move (I can't remember what it was at this moment in time). Combustie won purely by luck (Quick Claw let her attack first, used Magnitude).

The only places where I can find Flans at this point are in Victory Road, Sky Pillar and Cerulean Cave. And considering my luck so far with first encounters and actually catching things without knocking them out with critical hits...

He probably just did it because he's a jerkface and the worst dad ever. >:C

I can't advance any further than Cerulean without battling the gym leader there, so my attempt at exploring Kanto is once again put on hold. (Funnily enough, it looks like I can visit Cerulean Cave as well, but I'm not suicidal enough I don't want to risk losing another party member or a first encounter yet.)

It does not.

If I recall correctly, it does learn Aeroblast via level up, but that's pretty much the only thing relatively decent about it.

If it's any consolation, I'm at least going to level everyone up to show off their last forms (with the exception of Grue-chan and the unnamed Shizuha).

Vide's the last one left, but his (only) evolution is at level 40. I'll be saving his final form for the next round of evolutions everywhere

Everybody is leveling to be even more awesome.
If LootofBread gets offed, you can bring out the shiny CHina and pretend nothing happened.
