If they make this change, the Patriots can finally realize their dream of having the greatest offense ever assembled and not playing defense at all.
Cowboys linebacker Jerry Brown died as a result of a drunk driving accident this morning. The vehicle was driven by Cowboys nosetackle Josh Brent, who has been arrested for intoxication manslaughter.
I'm not a Jim Rome fan, but riffing off of a bit he had probably 10 years ago, someone should start up a discreet limo service and market it strictly toward athletes. "We will get you back from the club to wherever you want to go, safely and without police involvement, no questions asked, and you can drink, do blow off a stripper's ass, whatever in the back that doesn't involved non-consensual violence. Net 10 terms available depending on contract status".
Yes with all the money professional athletes have hiring a driver or limo service or something is a trivial affair, I don't know why they don't do it and continue to drive drunk.
Yes but from what ive heard is that the players dont want to take such things from the team as they dont want the team to know things like, well that they are out drinking late 2 days before a game for example.
Vikings not named Peterson can't even move the ball against the backups Chicago is running out there today. Ponder still looks just awful, and it's not all on the receivers this week.
Also. Special Teams. Shit. Two funbles and one kickoff returned for a TD. In the first quarter. Goddamn it Saints.
Well at least they won, and the fact he is on pace for 2000 yards with how awful the passing game has been shows how amazing of a player he is. Defenses know he is the only offense they have and he still runs all over them.
Okay, I can't watch any more football, that Redskins game has exhausted me. I'm going to go decompress and play something less stressful. Like XCOM.
Start off with being a Saints fan and starting the season 0-4, getting your hopes up and then watch as they crumble again into 0-3 over the last few games. It worked for me, anyway.
If only the Seahawks could put together performances like that on the road. iirc they've got the largest home/away splits of any team in the NFL this year; at home they're a fairly dominant team (especially on defense); on the road they're rather mediocre. If the playoffs were held today, the Seahawks would play a wild-card game against NYG. My father's friend is a Giants season ticket holder and never goes to playoff games (too cold!); I wonder if he'd let me have his tickets...
We'll see what happens next when they go to Toronto to play the Bills, but I'm cautiously optimistic that they may have turned the corner on the road with that Bears win. And don't forget that the Giants are a team they've had success against, including beating them in NYC last season.
Glad to see that's all it is. Even losing that game (as a Ravens fan), it would suck not to be able to watch RG3 play.
IIRC it was because the Ravens went several games/quarters without scoring one single passing offensive TD (or any offensive TDs perhaps) until Dilfer went in. EDIT: Well that post was old as shit. Nice job Bill. In other news, Niners/Seahawks gets FLEX'd (unf) to SNF in two weeks, making it 2 SNF in a row for SF (at Patriots this Sunday).
Depending on how this week goes, that game could be for the division. If the Seahawks win @ Buffalo and the Giants lose @ NE, SF @ SEA should be for the division (with the loser taking a wild card). Exciting! How are things going with Kaepernick? I was reading the FO boards and they seem to think he's basically Alex Smith with slightly more scrambling ability offset by the fact that he takes a lot longer to get out of the huddle (and thus takes some penalties / unnecessary timeouts).
You meant the Niners @NE right? Colin looks alright. He looks like a first year starter which is what he is. The team would still be where it's at now whether Kaep or Smith started, the defense is the one winning the games for the Niners. The difference between Kaep and Smith is where each could in five years. Kaep has almost unlimited potential while Smith will probably end up being a backup somewhere. I think the switch to Kaep was fine but if you're doing to do it just do it instead of dancing around and saying you're just going to go with the hot hand.
After getting zero Seahawks games last year here in Minnesota, with the SF @ SEA for SNF that'll be the 4th I'll have gotten to see this year. I'm also much happier person this year. Coincidence? Maybe.
I love Jim Harbaugh's coaching because the Niners would be a 6 wins or less team as before but he overthinks things sometimes. He doesn't want to totally torpedo Alex' confidence but guess what, Alex is used to it and if he has one intangible it is the ability to get over being treated like shit. Then again there is no right way to say "Well we were waiting for Alex to play terribly so we could bench him because Colin is Our Guy, but that never really happened so uh we're gonna do this instead!" All you need to do is look at Alex' face during games (which is borderline sadistic but that's the drama) to know it doesn't matter what Harbaugh has said. I will say that I think Alex will get more offers than just Miami this off-season, because there is quite literally nothing wrong with him aside from a low ceiling that is still higher than all of Arizona's QBs combined. All very awkward, but Harbaugh would rather have people think of him as a weirdo than a pretty ruthless decision-maker. I'll tell you what interests me more/just as much: what the SF offense could look like if they let Colin be Colin and give LaMichael James more touches because he looked pretty good Sunday. That's the stuff SF needs to be doing if they want to have any shot at beating NE, Seattle, or whoever in the playoffs.
I think Alex Smith has accepted it's Colin's team going forward. When they panned to Alex during the game he actually seem happy again. He was cheering and happy when Colin scored whereas weeks pass he had this dejected look upon him. I'm going to be sadden when Smith leaves this offseason as I wanted him to make the Niners ten year wall of fame and he'll just end up just short. I hope they start incorporating AJ Jenkins in the upcoming weeks. He needs to get some playing time just so if injuries do occur it doesn't end up like last year where we were using Joe Hastings.
So St. Louis looks decent all of a sudden. 4-0-1 in the division. Sucks that they got cheated out of a home game, although NE probably would have beaten them in St Louis as well. Still need a Seahawks or Bears mini-collapse to make the playoffs, but after losing at home to the Jets, they probably don't deserve to get in anyway. Also, picking Detroit over Green Bay in the weekly picks was probably my dumbest move all season.
