And the Cards get to keep Horton as their Defensive Coordinator. Still upset at the firing of Whiz, but I'm curious and optimistic on Arians. And the team he gets to work with actually has pretty much every piece in place... except the quarterback. The offensive line was coming together toward the end of the season, as the rookie Tackles started vastly improving from where they were at the mid-point of the season... then the Center position apparently raised a death flag for anyone who was to snap the ball. If Arians can get an at least decent quarterback for next season, the NFC West will be the NFL Best.
From what PFT is saying, Horton is gone (he was mad at not being chosen as head coach) and that Todd Bowles, most recently DC for the Eagles and an Arians friend, is in.
You just have to have confidence that the organization is capable of bringing in and developing good coaches to replace the ones who move on. It's a lot better to be the team other teams raid for their coaches than have a bunch of old worn out cronies who aren't going anywhere. There aren't many guys like Jim Johnson or Dick LeBeau who stay coordinators forever and are actually good at their job.
Oh God, I am agreeing with a Cowboys fan. (Giants fan here, you may now feel dirty a Giants fan agreed with you.)
Norv to the Browns I believe is a great idea. He's always been a pretty good OC. He just sucks as a HC.
How many seasons of not sucking as an OC will it take him to trick a team into making him a head coach again THIS time?
Well, from The Chud's point of view he's hired the perfect guy for the OC job. Good to great at that job and proven to suck at the job above that.
It's a consensus among those that reflexively disagree with each other then! This must occur! Also, Memo to Jerreh: I'm not sure if you're trolling us, Garrett, or are back on the sauce by doing this but stop. Just stop. Nothing good is going to come of this.
Haha. My friend who is a big Ole Miss guy hates Nutt and how terrible he was with Ole Miss. He did alright the first year there then terrible thereafter. It was either because he couldn't recruit or was a terrible HC or maybe both.
I actually don't mind the Redskins or their fans, generally speaking, although I find the team's name. Um. Problematic. ANYWAY, even though the Giants are ass against them lately, I don't really hold it against the Redskins. The Eagles and the Cowboys monopolize my sport hate, I guess!
Yeah I don't hate the Giants either. I despise the Cowboys because well...for so many reasons, and I despise the Eagles primarily because of their fan base. And living by Philly the past several years has confirmed that my hate for their fan base is well warranted.
You don't need to explain Cowboys hate. It's what unites this country. PS: Seriously, fuck the Eagles.
Horton was hired by the Browns as DC, by the way. This is coming out now, so we'll see if means anything: 49ers Crabtree being questioned about alleged sexual assault
Dammit Crabtree. Hopefully this turns out to be nothing as it was with Pablo Sandoval but gah dammit.
Atlanta off to another hot start, 17-0. I recall someone suggesting it would not be a good idea to underestimate the Falcons. ;-) Now lets see if the 49ers can figure out Julio Jones and make this a game!
One of the best things about being a Dallas fan is that we get to watch the playoffs pretty much every year with actual Dallas Cowboy players.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Navorro Bowman is the man! It was extra special to beat Mike Nolan's team to get to the Super Bowl. Fuck you Mike, I hope you liked watching what the team can do with a real coach.
To be fair, Douglas grabbed the corner by the collar and threw him down to get that open, and then made a questionable catch. On third down. If the Falcons had managed to pull out the win, that play may have been the difference. I'd much rather have a coach who gets upset on the sidelines than one who stands there looking confused and disoriented, like the preceding two coaches.
That fumble is probably game over for the Patriots. What an awful hit. :( Wasn't even the defender's fault either; he stood there while the runner lead with his helmet.
Yeah that was 100% on Ridley; he absolutely ducked his head before contact. Totally on him. I wonder if New England will ever figure out its defensive issues. Every year for almost a decade it's been the same thing: offensive juggernaut with a shitty defense. You'd think that they'd iron it out at some point!
Also Colin this and that. And the Ray Lewis Retirement Experience. I been a Kaep supporter from before day one but frankly I'm getting sick of hearing about him so much. I don't think I'm going to be able to stand two weeks of Super Bowl hype this year, not that I ever could stand it before but it will be so much worst this year.
Haha, that three and out is going to make this game interesting. Down by 15 with seven minutes to go? On one hand, the Pats have shown nothing this half. On the other, it's Tom F'in Brady.
