After purchasing/playing all the routes (sob I told myself I'd stop after Prince Wilfred why do I have such terrible impulse control whyyyy), I can safely say that Leonardo is both the biggest bastard and creep of the game. Dude's a major douche and I'd wish there'd been an option to beat some sense into him. Seriously. Just fuck that guy.

Also, here's a friendly warning about version 1.3 of Be My Princess to my fellow Android users: Updating to version 1.3 fucked up my Roberto route. Like, I can barely play through his route before the loading screen freezes on me and trying to access his CGs in the "Scenes" gallery results in the game immediately closing/exiting itself. sob why do these sort of things always happen to me goddamn I just wanna romance my pretty fictional men in peace ughhhh Anyway, just keep that in mind and be careful when updating your game, you guys!

Edit: Crap, it looks like it might have messed up with the very end of Edward's route too. The loading screen of episode 15 has been frozen for waaaay too long. Goddamn it, I'm gonna have to check if Keith and Joshua's routes were affected now too, ugh.

I reaaaaally regret updating to version 1.3. Seriously guys, be wary.

After updating to version 1.3, Roberto's route freezes super early in the game, Edward's route freezes nearing the very end of the game, and trying to access Roberto's, Edward's, and/or Keith's CGs in the "Scenes" gallery results in the game immediately closing/exiting itself. I'm getting seriously frustrated and upset by this, arghhh.

And why did Joshua have to be one of the guys whose route and CGs weren't affected at all? Goddamn it, he's my least favorite (and not just because he shares the same name as my brother which adds a bit more wtf no dnw factor when I'm romancing the dude. The guy's got his cute moments but he's just kind of bleh to me). I want Roberto, damn it! Give me back the King of Mixed Signals!

Ughhhh, at least Wilfred's and Glenn's routes and CGs are safe too. If Glenn had been in any way affected, I would've lost my shit and gone on a mad rampage. Seriously, I am not joking. There would've been a lot of yelling, ripped papers, and various items being thrown at the wall.

Sigh, I hope the next update (there better be a version 1.4 man, I am not settling for this shit) for the game fixes this all.

I'm sure Voltage will release a bug update soon. Looking at announcements on the facebook page, this won't be the first time they've had to fix a buggy Android version of one of their games.

Leonardo is hardly an adorable, fluffy, cute, huggable cat.

He acts like he can't hear her and keeps eating in silence.

Amaya purses her lips and tries again, speaking louder and clearer.

Amaya: "Your Highness!?



Joshua: "What?"

Amaya: (Oh...)

As soon as their eyes meet, she forgets what she was going to say.

Amaya: (Uh... What was it again...?)



Amaya: "Um...well..."

Josh sighs a little as he watches her struggle to speak.

Joshua: "Calm down and speak slowly."


Who is this man, and how can we make sure the old Joshua never comes back?

Joshua: "If you are worried about what happened last night, please don't be..."

This catches Jan's attention.

Jan: "Did something happen last night?"

Josh smiles a little as he answers.

Joshua: "No, nothing."

Not even a kiss. *sigh*

Jan: "Oh..."

Jan stares at him for a moment, then changes the subject.



Joshua: "The TV?"

There's a TV in there?

Jan: "Yes. I believe Nerwan Kingdom is to be making a special report today... They may touch on the prince's recent tour of Dres Van."

NOOOOO! Why won't the ghost of Leonardo die?!

Joshua: "I see... Turn it on."

Jan: "Understood."

Okay, so Jan turns on the TV, which turns out to be behind that huge, huge panel on the right wall (the background picture doesn't change, however).

Unfortunately, the image on the giant screen is Leonardo, making an announcement about some new technology that Nerwan has developed.

Amaya: (It's all rather difficult... I don't quite understand...)

A loud bang reverberates around the room.



Amaya: "What is it, Your Highness?"

He doesn't hear her, however, as he immediately runs out of the room.

WHAT IS GOING ON?



Confused, Amaya looks over at Jan.



Amaya: "What? But that's..."

Amaya: (Could it be a coincidence...? No...)

Jan: "It is far too similar. The chance of this being a coincidence are pretty much nonexistent. Our announcement for this technology had been pushed back to next week."

Amaya: "So, that means..."

Jan: "There must have been a spy who leaked the information."

Leonardo was a very busy boy during his little "visit". But who would have given him the information?

Several days later, things are going to hell. Corporations involved in the project are threatening to sue, and there are rumors flying around that the Liebens sold the information for their own profit.



Amaya still doesn't know how to feel about what happened in Josh's room, but right now all she's more worried about the current situation. She just wants everything to settle down as soon as possible.

A few days later, Jan comes into her room, looking pale.



She asks what's wrong, and he gives her a newspaper.

The headline catches her eye.



There's a photo on the page. It's a bit hard to make out, but Amaya recognizes the woman as herself.

Amaya: "They think I'm a spy!?"



She can hear voices coming from outside her window.







Another email from Jan:

You may set your mind at ease

I don't know how I will respond after this, so I will consult with Prince Joshua.

Please wait until a conclusion is made.
You may be anxious, but Prince Joshua and I do not believe for one minute that you are a spy, Miss Tsukino.

But rather, I feel quite indignant at the reporter who wrote the article.

Since it involves Prince Joshua, I am confident nothing bad will happen and that you will be protected.
Please feel at ease.

And Then It Got Worse. Kill her now. Seriously, it's only merciful to kill Amaya now.

Amaya is now staying in a guest room at Nobel Michel Castle. Josh had taken her the evening the article had run to request that she be allowed to hide there for a while.

~~cue flashback~~

Joshua: "I am sorry for the suddenness of my request."



Mike: "In all the years I have known you Prince Joshua, I have not known you to make such a request of others. I will be very pleased to have her here, and I promise to protect her. However... If your two countries do lead you to war, I ask that you do not get her involved."

Josh bites down hard on his lip.



His expression goes dark, and Mike lightly places his hands on Josh's face.

Mike: "She will be here, waiting for you to come back for her. So smile."

Aw. I wish he really was her grandad. He's a sweet old guy.

Josh glances at Amaya and his face softens.

Joshua: "I promise, I will put the rumors about you to rest."

Her spirits rise at the conviction in his voice.

Amaya: "Thank you. May I ask you one thing?"

Joshua: "What is it?"

Amaya: "Do you believe it wasn't me?"

Joshua: "Of course!"

He laughs.

He turns away and speaks in a low voice.

Joshua: "Trust me. Wait for me..."



But his expression returns to normal so quickly that Amaya wonders if she imagined it.

Josh thanks Mike once again and is about to leave when...

??: "Aren't you going to ask your friends for help?"

It's Roberto! And he's got the other four princes with him!



Wilfred: "I was curious about what happened with that new technology."



Glenn: "Nor do I. And what is the meaning of dragging us all the way here in the middle of the night?"

And yet they showed up anyway.

Josh tsuns right back at them.

Joshua: "I don't believe I asked anyone to come."

Roberto: "There you go again... You say that even though your technology was stolen, and now they are trying to pin the blame on our dear Amaya."

Joshua's face hardens at Roberto's grin.

Joshua: "That's..."

Keith: "Shall we leave it then? I don't want to go out of my way to give help to someone who says he doesn't need it."

Roberto: "Now, now, Keith. Don't start taking things the wrong way."

Keith: "I'm not. I just don't think very much of Dres Van, after allowing such a small and weak country to cause so much trouble..."

Joshua: "What!?"



Edward: "I certainly am not fond of the idea that one kingdom would steal the technology of another to further its own progress."

Wilfred: "That is true... Perhaps it would be best to ask for Oriens Kingdom's assistance in regards to the technology Nerwan Kingdom stole."

Glenn: "Why would I, I mean we, do that!?"

Nice save.

Wilfred chuckles.

Wilfred: "That would be because Orien's technology sector is second to none."

Roberto: "Young Glenn's kingdom does have a skilled workforce."


Played like a fiddle.

Glenn: "Our country has experienced a lot of growth in that area, but why are you calling me, 'Young Glenn'?"

Because Roberto has to have a nickname for everyone, but you can't exactly shorten "Glenn".

Edward: "Calm down Prince Glenn... So we are all agreed on helping to sort out this mess?"

All eyes turn to Josh.

Joshua: "But..."



Roberto: "Accept our help now, and hopefully we will prevent a war before it's too late. What do you think, Amaya?"

Roberto looks at Amaya, and she glances at Josh.

Amaya: (Prince Joshua...)

He returns her glance, and sighs.

Joshua: "All right. For now I want to focus on getting this current situation under control."

And she doesn't even have to SAY anything!



Keith grins.


DON'T TREAD ON ME

Everyone laughs.

Edward: "That's true, but I must admit I am surprised Prince Joshua is lending is his ears so freely."

So, now that it looks like the crisis is going to be taken care of, it's time to tease Josh.

Roberto: "Oh, really?"

Edward: "Yes. You have always wanted to do things your own way up until now."

Josh turns his head away.

Joshua: "I still do."

Keith: "Then why listen this time?"

Josh continues to avert his gaze and refuses to answer. Roberto chuckles.

Roberto: "That would be because he wants to protect something worth more to him than his pride."

Amaya: (Something worth more than his pride...?)

She's still oblivious.


Bullseye.

Joshua: "Shut up... Jan, we're leaving!"

And so he does.


Aww, lookit him; so proud of himself.





Just so you know, we'll have a second opportunity to thank them later.

Roberto cuts in to chide him for giving Amaya too many hints.)



She bows her head, and Roberto pulls her into a hug.

Roberto: "You are so adorable!! I don't want to let Josh have you!"

Amaya: "Wha..."

Roberto really wants us to pick his route next.



Amaya struggles, and Glenn pulls him off of her.



Roberto: "Old man!?"

Keith laughs at that.


...You're only 3 years younger than him, Keith.

Roberto: "Argh..."

Willfred claps Roberto on the shoulder.

Willfred: "That means I'm in the old man category too then."

Roberto latches onto him and cries.



Amaya: (What is he...?)

Willfred pushes Roberto away.

Willfred: "Get off. I am really not into that kind of thing."

I could watch these guys just talk to each other all day.

Edward: "Well, I'm not too far off Prince Willfred and Prince Roberto's age myself... Please don't tease them too much, Glenn."



Glenn: "My apologies..."

Roberto looks over at Glenn.

Roberto: "It's fine young Glenn. I'll make sure to return the favor when you are my age. I'll congratulate you for becoming an old man like me."

Glenn: "You are too kind... But could you stop calling me young?"

Amaya finds herself smiling as she listens to them.



Roberto: "Joking aside, we are all here to help Prince Joshua."

Everyone else nods.

Edward: "I am for peace in general."

Keith: "I don't mind helping out this time..."

Glenn: "Well, he'll need the help of our technological departments."

Willfred: "I'm not so much of an idiot as to get on the wrong side of this lot."

Amaya: (Oh...)

Roberto: "So there you have it, Amaya. You can rest easy while you wait here for him."

Amaya: "Thank you..."

One morning several weeks later, Zain brings Amaya her morning tea as usual.



Zain: "Your drink, Miss."

Amaya: "Thank you."

Zain: "It appears things have calmed down quite a bit."

Amaya: "What...?"

For answer, he hands her a newspaper. There's an article in it about Dres Van, reporting that the rumor about Amaya being a spy was not true, and that it was all part of a plot originating from Nerwan Kingdom.

Amaya: (So Prince Leonardo did this...? But, he didn't seem like a bad person to me...)

Amaya...



The article goes on to say that a resolution was reached due to the assistance of other nations, and in the end it's still a mystery who leaked the information to Nerwan.

Amaya: (So they never found that out... But it looks like my name has been cleared at least.)

Zain: "That reminds me. Our regulars will be meeting here today."

Amaya: "Regulars?"



Amaya: (What...?)

Zain bows his head.

Zain: "Please excuse me."

Amaya is confused after he leaves.

Amaya: (What's good?)

She looks at the newspaper once more.


Dense protagonist is even denser than normal. I'll chalk it up to her not being completely awake yet.

Roberto, hold me, your cheerfulness may actually do me some good. Hopefully.

An hour later, Zain returns to escort Amaya to breakfast.



Zain: "Yes."

Amaya: "Does that mean the princes of various countries will be coming here?"

Zain smiles.

Zain: "That is correct."

Amaya: (So maybe I'll get to see Prince Joshua...?)

There's a distinct possibility, yes.



Amaya: "Excuse me, but isn't the dining hall that way...?"

Zain grins.

Zain: "Breakfast has been prepared over here this morning."

Amaya feels a little embarrassed and apologizes before falling silent.

Zain finally stops in front of a door, announcing that they're there. She thinks it's odd that he's not opening the door for her as usual.

Encouraged by his smile, she opens the door herself...

To find all six princes staring at her.



Amaya: "Z-Zain!?"

She spins around to see him laughing.

Zain: "I am sorry. Lord Michel ordered me to bring you along to where Prince Joshua is."

Sneaky old man. :3

She looks straight at Josh, who stands and walks over to stand directly in front of her.



Amaya: "Oh..."

Joshua: "Your name is clear, just like I promised."

Amaya: "Thank you."

Amaya is feeling a little shy as she nods, when she hears Roberto's voice.


Oh, Roberto... I just want to shrink him down to pocket-size and carry him around with me.

Amaya: (Wha...?)

Joshua: "W-what are you talking about?"

He goes red.



Edward: "Tone it down Prince Roberto. You need to treat a horse gently lest it tries to kick you."


Swing and a miss.



Willfred: "So are we finished for today?"

Amaya: (Oh...)

Amaya: "Excuse me...!"

Everyone looks at her.

Thank them again!

I think we should let them continue their meeting, for the lulsies.

Thank them. Thanking them is very important, because they are not Leonardo and that is something I think we should thank them for.

We should also thank Roberto for being fucking hilarious, Wilfred for silently suffering all of this, Keith and Glenn for being not quite as dickish as they could be, and Edward for not hitting on us all the time once he got the hint.

I just want to slap some sense into our protagonist. Prince Leonardo didn't seem like a bad person? Really? :| Did you miss the whole day he was with you, basically blackmailing Joshua's country to force you to spend time with him basically to mess with Josh, basically told her to ditch the guy she likes to be with him, and starting up rumors that your his girls in front of all the news and leaving you to get assaulted by the journalists? REALLY? I know Otome protags are supposed to be dense, but seriously?

Having Edward back up on the screen in his casual clothes reminded me how much I hate his sweater. It's not even the sweater itself that's bad; the colors look quite nice on him. It's that FREAKING COLLAR. If it just had a nice hem going around the collar it would be fine, but the lapels are killing me.

Amaya bows her head, and Josh stares at her.

Joshua: "Amaya..."



Roberto: "You two look just like a married couple."

Roberto, you're adorable.



Amaya: "Huh...?"

Surprisingly, this doesn't get a rise out of Josh at all. Instead, Keith stands up to make an ass of himself, per usual.

Keith: "Honestly, I can't handle this ridiculousness."


Oh, God, those two outfits together... MY EYES

Edward: "But as Prince Wilfred suggested, I think we can probably finish our meeting now."

Roberto: "True. Everything seems to have settled down quite nicely. We shouldn't see any more trouble from Nerwan, at least not for the moment."

Josh nods in agreement.

Joshua: "Yes, although we can't let our guard down yet. We still don't know who the spy was."



Glenn: "Are you sure you don't have anyone you would suspect?"

Joshua: "I'm sure..."



Amaya: (Prince Joshua...?)



A little while later...



Amaya bows to Zain and Mike as she is about to leave Nobel Castle.

Zain: "I wish we could have done more."

Zain bows back, and Mike gives Amaya a bright smile.

Mike: "Don't mention it. Please feel free to visit us at any time. That goes for you as well, Prince Joshua."

Amaya: "Thank you."


And this time, she's actually willingly going to Dres Van.

In the car on the way back to Dres Van...

Amaya returns his smile.

Amaya: "Thank you."

Jan: "This must be a huge relief for you, Your Highness?"

Josh frowns.

Joshua: "What do you mean?"

Jan: "You seemed to be worried about Miss Amaya this whole time."

Jan is a sneaky, sneaky man.

Amaya: (What...?)

She automatically turns toward Josh and their eyes meet. He then lowers his gaze and mutters.


Why u still no honest, Josh?

Jan bows his head.

Jan: "My deepest apologies, Your Highness."

Just then Jan's cellphone rings and he excuses himself to answer it. It seems Roberto and Wilfred have turned up at Dres Van Manor.



Jan: "I'm not sure. They were saying something about pajamas?"



Josh and Amaya don't get it, and then Josh orders Jan to have the driver stop the car. Amaya wonders what's wrong.



Joshua: "We're getting out."

Amaya: "Huh?"

Joshua: "Let's go."

Amaya: (Wait...what!?)



They've walked a little way when Jan calls out.

Jan: "Your Highness! Miss Amaya!"



Josh turns around and yells back at them.



Joshua: "In the interests of privacy I forbid you to come any closer."

WHUT

Jan and the bodyguards stop running.

Once they're completely out of sight, Josh slows down.



Amaya: "Is it all right to be doing this, Your Highness?"

Joshua: "It's fine."

He turns to look at her.

Joshua: "This was the only way I was going to get time alone with you."

Ohhh, so this is all because of Roberto castle-crashing.

Thank you, Roberto!



Amaya: (What...?)

His hand was warm on my own.

Joshua: "We still have some time until curfew."

Amaya: (That means...)

I could hear the sound of my own heart growing louder and louder.

Joshua: "You're finally back..."

He then fell silent and started to walk.

I said nothing either as he lead me by the hand.

Nobody gave us a second glance as we walked by.

Amaya: (I wonder if people see us as just a normal couple?)

Nothing like this has ever happened, so I am a bit puzzled.
