Flirty and fun sits very very very well on Roberto. I usually don't like the type but he makes a great matchmaker/friend~

Amaya: (I'd never have thought I would ever be doing this with Prince Joshua...)

And then the moment is ruined when Amaya's stomach growls. She's worried that he noticed, but it seems like he hasn't.

And then she smells something good and spots a food stall.

Amaya: (I wonder what that is...? Maybe some kind of fried food?)



He raises his eyebrows.

Joshua: "You can get food from there?"



Amaya: "It looks like it to me... Am I wrong?"

You're asking the wrong person, sweetie. I doubt Josh has ever eaten in anything less than a 5-star restaurant before, if even that. There's no way he's been allowed anywhere near street-food.

He frowns a little and averts his gaze.


Case-in-point.

Amaya: "Oh, is that so...?"

Amaya: (It smells so good...)

Amaya: "Do you mind if I try some?"

He turns to her in surprise.


Despite the completely different personalities, sometimes he reminds of Suou from OHSHC so much.

Amaya: "Yes... Is that all right?"

Josh seems hesitant as he looks around before nodding at her.

Joshua: "Do whatever you want."

Amaya: (Whatever I want...?)

Her stomach threatens to growl again.

Amaya: (No, no, no!)

Amaya: "I'll be quick!"

She hurries over to the stall to buy some food and then returns to Josh.



Amaya: "Please excuse me while I eat."

She takes a bite.

It is DELICIOUS.

Josh peeks at the food while she eats.

Joshua: "It's like a pancake...with cabbage, and...beef?"

Amaya: "Yes. Did you want some?"


He totally wants some. (Also, I assume this only applies to buying food in public, not to taking meals at the castle.)

Amaya: "I see. Well..."



Joshua: "It looks like it has bean sprouts in it as well?"

He stares at the food in her hand before looking back up at Amaya.

Joshua: "Is it sweet?"

Amaya: (Perhaps he does want to eat some...?)

He really, really does, but THE RULES.

Amaya: "Yes... Would you not be allowed to have even one bite?"



Joshua: "I..."

He clears his throat.

Joshua: "Well, if it was you and not me who purchased it, and you are only sharing it with me, then I suppose it's okay."




Neither of these is a "bad" choice, btw.

Well, if neither of them have penalties, then suddenly sassy protag-chan get! A!

Unless that means she doesn't actually give him any AT ALL; then B.

Omg. Joshua. Food. Take some. Or stop being weird. Here's a mildly depresing story I'm reminded of. My grandfather had esophigal cancer and had a tracheotomy so he couldn't eat without afeeding tube. Boy he missed eating. He'd hang around you at a meal and be all, 'How's it taste?" "Eat this one next." "Is it good?" We'd all try to eat elsewhere when he wasn't looking or very very quickly because of intense guilt and discomfort. My poor sweet grandpa. /debbie downer

Meanwhile, I say B. Nevermind teasing, the kid is actually looking for loopholes in the rules, he deserves at least a bite.

And in an alternate universe, somewhere, I am writing a fanfiction where Amaya just becomes friends with all of the Princes and they go on HILARIOUS adventures. Wacky hijinks ensue.

B. I don't think Joshua's progressed far enough in learning HOW I SOCIAL for teasing yet. And besides, this is what I was talking about earlier regarding Dres Van's ridiculous rules. What the hell is the purpose of forbidding him from buying food after a certain time of night?

Randissimo : A friendship ending would be awesome in those kind of games... Like, I wouldn't romance Keith, but he does act a lot like one of my friends ! Best buddies with princes, yay !

On the other hand, teasing him could be hilarious if only for creepy inuendo. Just wave her pancake thing in front of his face and be all, 'You want some of my taco Josh-u-a? You can't HAVE my taco Josh-u-a. You're not allowed to touch this girl's taco Josh-u-a...~" He'd probably ragequit Amaya though. xD

I've been trying to figure out what exactly she's eating. Sounds almost like the American version of moo shu pork, except with beef.

I live too close to Mexico to not equate it to Mexican street tacos. Those are always in small, soft tortillas filled with good stuff. Not so much bean sprouts, but still, my word choice would be 'taco,' which means I get to make lewd puns.

The description evokes okonomiyaki, but as far as I know that's not really something you'd buy from a street vendor and eat with your hands while walking around (and also they're not in Oriens) so I dunno.

Maybe it just something made up, inspired by okonomiyaki ?

Wha- Why would there be a royal rule like that? What's up with this kingdom?

And this is why I'm glad Joshua actually has friends through Roberto and the other princes. Because holy frick, that poor child did not have an easy life.

Still doesn't excuse the kidnapping, but nonetheless.

I don't know, but it bothers me.

Who in their right mind would write rules like that? At least Josh is trying to find some way around them, so give him food for his efforts. (And I don't know if teasing him would be funny or could just break his brain, since social interaction is not his forte)

B, I think he'll probably get mad at us for teasing him and he must understand the wonders of STREET VENDORS!

We will be nice...for now.



Amaya smiles at Josh.

Amaya: "I suppose. Did you want to take a bite?"

She holds the food out to him again, and his face instantly lights up.



He accepts the food and takes a large bite.

The only thing missing in this scene is a snake.

Unless Leonardo is lurking in a nearby alley.

*shudder*



He takes another bite as a look of innocence crosses his face.

(See? He's reminding me of Tamaki Suou again.)

Amaya: (Does that mean he likes it...?)



Joshua: "This is as interesting combination of food..."

Amaya: "That's good. I'll just go and buy another one."

Joshua: "But..."

Josh hesitates. Feeling a little mean, Amaya takes the food back.

(So you end up teasing him whichever choice you pick. You also give him the food whichever choice you pick; you're just deciding what order to do it in.)

Amaya: "Didn't you like it? I guess I'll eat it then."

Joshua: "It doesn't taste too bad..."

He takes the food back.

Joshua: "As a member of the royal family, I must experience all I can, and sometimes try these kinds of foods..."

Whatever you say, sweetie. *pats head*

Amaya listens to him as she heads back to the food stall.

Amaya: "I'll just go and buy another one then."

Joshua: "W-wait!"



Amaya: (Honestly... He should be a bit more honest sometimes...)



She smiles to herself and continues to the stall

A little later that night, the food stalls and shops are closed, and there aren't very many people left on the street.



Josh looks down at his (very expensive looking) watch.

Joshua: "I guess..."

Suddenly, he takes the watch off and flings it away.

Amaya asks him why he did that, but he ignores the question. Exasperated, she runs to where she saw the watch land.

Josh runs after her, shouting her name. He catches up when she spots the watch and slows down. Amaya picks it up and hands it back to him.

Amaya: "I found it."

Joshua: "Oh..."

He takes the watch awkwardly and stares down at it.

Amaya: "Why did you throw it away like that?"

Josh is hesitant as he looks back at her.



Amaya: "That's..."

...so cute and sad and...and...



Joshua: "Before I knew what I was doing, I'd thrown it away."



Amaya: "Your Highness..."

Whatever she was going to say is interrupted.

??: "Your Highness! Miss Amaya!"

Jan is running toward them.



Next to her, Josh quietly whispers.

Joshua: "Game over..."

(I'm absolutely confused about our time zones.)
And Jan's right, we have to go back to the castle so we can have a Pajama Party with my headcanon OTP!

You could tell by the lighting that it was sunset when they left Nobel Michel Castle, and it's been indicated it takes a few hours to get from there to Dres Van Manor. Edward lives the closest to Nobel Michel, and Joshua, Wilfred and Roberto are all within driving distance. Keith and Glenn both have to take jets to and from Nobel Michel, which is why they never popped up at Dres Van like the other three. That, and they're anti-social.

That's pretty consistent, especially considering that Josh, Ed, Rob and Will = Europe, Glenn = Japan and Keith = 'MURICA, and it's really interesting information.

But I was talking about our real time zones, actually. Some LPers update their threads in the dead of the night, while others update 3 PM, like you're doing now and I never knooooow when to expect an update and it's confusing.
I'm not complaining about your updates schedules or anything, though! I'm just... really confused, that's all.

It's noon where I am. GMT -6.

But, I work 3rd shift, and it's almost bed-time for me.The 3rd shift thing means I'm online at really odd times.

A lot of people that post here are European; I notice that I tend to be on here at about the same time they are.

I will forever laugh about the fact Newfoundland has its own timezone. That's just beautiful.

I was going to complain that everytime I've flown over Canada I've hit turbulence over Newfoundland. Then I looked at a map and realised it was over Quebec.

I should have known the French were responsible.

Where I live doesn't have daylight savings time, so we switch between neighboring time zones. Then it gets really weird

All of the updates seem to happen whenever I'm asleep or at school, so while it's a little confusing I'm glad I have so many updates to sift through~ I have been here for three hours already just catching up on everything.
While it pains me to leave Wilfred for one of the last routes, the promise of an epilogue is enough of a reward for me to wait patiently. Even if it means sitting through another tsun.

Amaya: (What...?)

Amaya blushes as Roberto grins at them.

Amaya: "It wasn't a date..."

It was totally a date.

Wilfred: "Then what were you doing?"


Daaaaaate

Roberto laughs.

Roberto: "A walk, at this time of night?"

Wilfred: "What's wrong with that? There's a good moon out tonight."

Roberto: "I didn't know you were so romantic, Wills."


See, now I'll feel guilty if I go for Wilfred or Roberto next because I'll be breaking up their bromance.

Roberto: "Sure, sure."

Jan: "Excuse me for interrupting, but what brings Your Highnesses to the manor this evening?"

Roberto: "Oh, that's right. I nearly forgot the reason we came... Let's have a pajama party!"

Joshua: "A pajama party? What's that?"

Amaya, enlighten your sheltered boyfriend.

Amaya: "Um... It's when everyone wears pajamas and talks about this and that..."

Thank you. That was...eloquent.

Joshua: "Pajamas...? So you too?"



And then we get a flash-forward, presumably to draw out the tension before continuing the scene, since there aren't any commercial breaks in a game.

It's several hours later, the party is long over, and Amaya wakes up in her room. It's not morning yet.

Amaya gets out of bed and looks outside to see a brilliant moon.



And then she thinks back to the conversation, and the scene from before continues.



Amaya: "Wha...?"

She freezes at his outburst, and Roberto look quizzically at Josh.

Roberto: "Why's that? I thought that since we had sorted everything out now we could have a bit of fun."

Joshua: "Fun I don't have a problem with. But not in pajamas!"

Josh looks straight at Amaya.

Amaya: (I wonder why not...)

Hmm...

Roberto sulks.





Wilfred: "So it's fine if we don't wear pajamas?"

Josh glances at him.

Joshua: "Well, yes..."

Wilfred: "That's settled then."

Joshua: "All right. Jan, prepare us some snacks and drinks."

Jan: "Understood."

Roberto watches them both leave and whispers to Wilfred.



Wilfred: "Well... It was just that Prince Joshua seemed against having Miss Amaya wear pajamas in front of us."

Amaya: (Oh...)

Roberto: "Oh I see now... I should have noticed that!"

You're losing your touch, old man.

He turns to Amaya and grins.

Roberto: "He obviously cares about you that much... Daddy's going to go cry now..."

Amaya: "Daddy...?"

OH C'MON ROBERTO. Don't make me compare you in my mind to Daddy and never be able to enjoy your route!

Sorry for double post, but I just had a random episode of Fridge Horror. Not too many characters in Dres Van have been introduced, and even fewer in the rigid circle regarding Dres Van politics. it uh... It's not possible Jan is out spy, is it? Keeping Amaya close to Josh to take the blame, never suspected, privvy to everything... Oh, I'm creeping myself out. : (

That's a reasonable assumption, yes.

Amaya: (But after that, we ate and drank, then listened to Prince Roberto sing... It was a good night.)

Aw, I wanna listen to Roberto sing... :(

Amaya's thoughts are interrupted by her phone ringing.

It's Joshua.

Joshua: "Come downstairs right now."

Amaya: (Huh?)

Amaya: "Right now...?"

Joshua: "Aren't you able to?"

Amaya: "Well, I could, but..."

Joshua: "Then come down, got it?"

Aaaaand then he hangs up.

Amaya: (Honestly! What now!?)

She gets dressed and leaves.

A little while later, she finds herself in a car...with Joshua...alone...while he drives them somewhere.


Now he asks.



Amaya: "No, I had just woken up..."

Joshua: "I see..."

Awkward.

Amaya: (I didn't know Prince Joshua could drive...)

Considering all the stuff he doesn't have any knowledge of, it IS surprising that he was taught how to drive.

Amaya: "You're a good driver."

He smiles.


Oh, lots of reasons, sweetie.



Amaya: "Where are we going?"

He doesn't respond.

Amaya: "Your Highness...?"

He sighs.



Amaya: (A secret...?)

Amaya: "But..."

Yes, I have a problem with it. I thought we were passed the 'Making me feel like I'm going to be raped and no one will hear me scream' phase of this relationship. It's a problem. Fuck. Seriously. You always say that! Would I fucking question it if I didnt?!
