Just throwing it here, but one of my favorite manga (not sure if it shojo with action, shonen with romance, or softcore seinen) is Immortal Rain. I adore the main characters and the plot, and the art gets better and better with time... Check it out guys !
  2. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

It's a shoujo, I'm pretty sure! Only warning I'm going to give people: It involves a (eventual) romantic relationship between a fifteen year old and a 624 year old immortal who stopped ageing in his early/mid twenties. But the plot. The fucking plot. It hits you right where it hurts. I'm serious, man, it hits important questions like what is life worth and its meaning and fjsijfdisajfdisajfisajfosjfd coherency there is none. The characters are well written, their relationships are beautiful, and it will do its damn best to make you cry. Even if you don't, it will find ways to induce feels. Believe me. It's really well-done.

Can I make a recomandation? It's not Shojo, but I really adore the manga Itsuwaribito (sometimes called 'Itsuwaribito -Utsuho-'). You can't find scans online (believe me, I've tried), but if you're lucky, you could probably find them in a bookstore like Books-a-Million. I have the first six volumes that I've found and I don't regret it. Utsuho is such a great Anti-hero main char. and he is no where near what one would think of as a main hero char. even with Anti-hero status. At least chech out it's TVTopes artical.

And even if Rain IS very old, he doesn't "feel" like an old man, and their relationship isn't creepy at any point of the story.

Also Machika, the heroine, kicks ass and takes name ! I love her.

    REEEEEAAAAADDDDDD EEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.
I've cried more reading this FanFiction than reading the canon books.

    EDIT:
UUUGH I'VE CRIED SO MUCH WHILE READING IMMORTAL RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
Oh those poor babies I wanted to hug them all, all the time!!
    Especially Yuca and Rain himself.
Their relationship was so beautiful and Rain is so adorkable and Machika's so awesome and I love everything.
Yuca's a fine example of a sympathetic villain, at least for me, and I personally adore these kinds of viallins. His motivation to END FUCKING EVERYTHING makes sense and if I were Rain I would not have the heart to stand in his way, really. I mean, he's suffered more than possibly every single person in this entire world, and he was never allowed a single moment of rest during all his life time(s) and I can't bring myself to hate him.
I have to finish reading that manga.

EDIT EDIT because I hate double-posting:
I don't think I'll be able to find this manga in my country, though.
    What's the story about?
  6. Sarasha Already Beat BF's New Expansion

To be fair, Edge was her love interest. That man would wear on anyone's nerves, if you ask me.
Ha, I remember that! It was at that point that I decided that Cecil either needed to get a clue or a restraining order.
  7. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

This. This is the only thing that kept me reading the story. It's because their relationship feels very equal. They're on even ground. At no point do I feel like either of them is taking advantage of the other, and that seriously helps to make the age difference palatable.

Machika is a normal human being, she's not nearly as overpowered as the other characters, and she managed to keep them at bay by being smarter than them and insanely tenacious. And Rain is pretty much my type, spot on.

Kaori Ozaki, the author, also made short stories... Some of them are very dark and bitter, but I loved them all. I want to read everything she wrote but finding scanlation or official printed mangas has been harder than expected.
  9. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

Yeah, I'm sad not much of her work can be found online, and I don't remember if any of her works got translated over to the West. Did they translate Immortal Rain to French?

(I'm also kind of irritated they didn't keep the original, more badass title Meteor Methuselah.)

I, particularly, like more the name Immortal Rain than Meteor Methuselah.

And I also doubt Immortal Rain's been translated to Portuguese.

Nope, I had to read the scanlation since I couldn't buy the books. But as soon as I find them, in french or in english, they'll join my collection. Immortal Rain sounds good though (and it's easier to spell).

The first volume almost had me bawling it was so epic and tragic. Then it just became epic and sometimes silly. I adore Utsuho, and all the other chars. introduced. Utsuho is best Anti-hero ever IMHO. He's almost always a step or two a head of the enemy, and even when he isn't, he's always the first to figure it out. He hand-makes all his weapons, which include; bombs, smokescreens, knockout gas, assasins creed style hidden knife, and so on. He knows the latin names and sevral facts on the plants he uses in all of his concosions. He lies about lying.

    No scanlations you say?! BLASPHEMY!
  14. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

    Damn it all!

And the reason I prefer the original title is because of its significance to the story. Immortal Rain also sounds kind of clichéd, though it is damn easier to spell, agreed.

I tried, I really did, but it seems copywrite stuff won't allow it ;~; There are 18 volumes out so far and it's currently still ongoing, but there are only so many that Viz Media have translated. (somewere between 7-9, I don't know these sites are all givong me different answers.)

Update coming in a few hours, I think. In the meantime, we're nearing the end of Joshua's route, so I thought I'd open up voting on the next route.

This time, we'll pick from one of the non-tsun guys. The choices are:

Prince Wilfred A. Spencer of Philip

    Age: 25
    Blood type: A
    Birthday: April 5th (Aries)
    Height: 5'10"

Pros: Soft-spoken; tends to express himself with physical actions; has a sequel
    Cons: CLAUDE

    Prince Roberto Button of Altaria

    Age: 25
    Blood type: AB
    Birthday: October 23rd (Libra)
    Height: 5'10"

Pros: Friendly; fun to be around; doesn't put on airs
Cons: Friend-zones himself hard; his actions/words may not match his feelings (AB blood-type, remember)

    Prince Edward Levaincois of Charles

    Age: 23
    Blood type: O
    Birthday: May 15 (Taurus)
    Height: 6'0"

Pros: The classical romantic; enjoys roses, opera, tea and reading; tends to be the peace-maker among the six princes
Cons: May have his head a bit too far in the clouds; someone this perfect has to be hiding something...right? (or maybe not)

    Please bold your choice.
Voting will be counted 48 hours after this post.
  17. Donmai Hatoful Pigeon

Roberto sounds like he's my type... But Edward's kingdom has the same name as the guy I fell in love with in my dream... Edward it is, then! I need a shower

Also, what kind of personalities do the Japanese relate to each blood type, anyway?
  19. James Birdsong Beardy Magnificence

  20. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

Another vote for Roberto because I need to see how painful his friend-zoning is.

    Type A
Positive Traits - Earnest, creative, sensible, reserved, patient, responsible
Negative Traits - Fastidious, overearnest, stubborn, tense

    Type B
Positive Traits - Wild, active, doer, creative, passionate, strong
Negative Traits - Selfish, irresponsible, unforgiving, erratic

    Type AB
Positive Traits - Cool, controlled, rational, sociable, adaptable
Negative Traits - Critical, indecisive, forgetful, irresponsible, "split personality"

    Type O
Positive Traits - Confident, self-determined, optimistic, strong-willed, intuitive
Negative Traits - Self-centered, cold, doubtful, unpredictable, "workaholic"

Of the other three princes, Joshua and Glenn both are type A, Keith is type B (big surprise)

It should also be noted that Roberto's birthday being October 23rd puts his zodiac sign on the cusp between Libra and Scorpio, meaning that while he's technically a Libra, he could have some Scorpio traits. (Not necessarily applicable in real life, but this is fiction where you can assume birthdays and blood-type were purposefully chosen.)

    Okay, so basically:
    Type A = Melancholic
    Type B = Choleric
    Type AB = Phlegmatic
    Type O = Sanguine

    Huh.

Thanks for the clarification! I've always seen Blood Types as a Real Important Trait of characters in mangas, animes and Japanese games, and I just skipped them not really giving it any second thought because I didn't know this.

(I had to arrange these personalities in terms I could understand, AKA the Four Temperaments, because I'm weird.)

Wilfred, for the love of my sanity! I can't guarantee that I will be able to say anything but nope to Edward's route, or that I won't jump into the computer screen and slap Roberto because of his constant friend-zoning.

WILFRED. And okay, a vote for Edward too because I'm kind of interested now.

Regarding Immortal Rain, I did a super quick google and amazon is selling French editions but I haven't found any French scanlations yet.
    WHY NO SCANLATION. WHY. WHHHHHHY.
  28. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

PARAdoxial, if it's serialized, you're not likely to find any French scanlations online at all.

Yeeaaah. Bad writing in the game gives Cecil cases of conveiniant protag stupid. The Twins were bright and interesting, I wish they had more time with you.

Has anyone ever played the orinal, Engrishy SNES version? I have it.

Scene after using Exit in Bab-il:

Cecil looks down at himself. "WHERE IS IT?"

My friends in high school and I interpretted this to mean Rosa teleported his dick clean off in her haste to escape. Best headcannon.

Throwing in another vote for Roberto, despite the fact that he is the King of Mixed Signals (seriously bro, when Glenn, a guy who's got some difficulty being honest and open with his feelings, calls you out on your behavior, you know you're in serious denial), because he is a true bro on everyone else's routes and is such an adorable little puppy on his own d'awww.

It's full daylight by the time they get back to the manor.

Jan: "Your Highness, where have you been!?"

    Joshua: "Does it matter?"

    Jan bows.

Jan: "Yes it does. There is the possibility you have broken one of our rules."

    You don't say...

    Josh frowns.

Joshua: "What do you mean by that?"

    Jan: "Your Highness..."

    Joshua: "Yes?"

Jan: "His Majesty has requested to see you."

    Oh, shiiiiiii-

    Amaya: (What...?)

    Josh freezes.

I think the "His Majesty" here is a bit telling. The other princes might call their parents "Your Majesty" in a formal court setting, but they still call them "Father" and "Mother" in an informal setting or when speaking of them. Not Josh, though.

Jan: "Yes. If you could follow me as well, Miss Amaya?"

Jan leads them to the dining hall where a rather stern looking man is eating.

The King: "Joshua... Where have you been?"

    Well, that's nice and non-specific.

He's being unusually hesitant, and the king addresses him again.

The King: "I hear that, as of late, you have not been following the rules of our royal house."

Josh trembles a little, and it's at this point I realize he's terrified of his father and I have a sad. :(

The King: "Well, it isn't something I am pleased about, but I understand you need your own space sometimes. I am willing to forgive you for this."

Oh, you're willing to forgive him. How kind of Your Majesty.

    The king looks at Amaya.

The King: "But there is one rule you swore yourself was important to uphold: that the crown prince must marry a woman of noble birth."

    Amaya: "What...?"

The King: "Isn't that why you were going to those parties you dislike so much, to find such a woman?"

He met my gaze, then looked troubled as he cast his face downwards.

    Joshua: "That's true, but..."

Amaya: (So that's why he acted the way he did the first time we met...)

The King: "You cannot tell me that you plan on breaking that rule as well, Joshua?"

The King's voice boomed around the dining hall.

I remembered the fact that just that morning, Prince Joshua had kissed me.

But before my eyes I saw Prince Joshua frozen to the spot...

And Jan, staring down at the floor with a pained look on his face.
