    Take a ... piss?
HAHAHAHA XD That's a messy way to piss of Claude, certainly.

Is that a typo or intentional?
  2. Skarrow Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    Totally unintentional.

    SORRY!!

    Auto-correct strikes again....

One time, the "auto-correct" from my hubby iPod suggested something so random I had to take a picture of it :
    Seriously? it's not even close!
  4. Skarrow Already Beat BF's New Expansion

    I want to laugh, but I can't.
Because I understand the evils of auto-correct

Hey, was this the thread that had pictures of the sequel to this game? If so, could somebody post that again? I wanted to take another look at Aslan's (the only reason I remember his name is because of Narnia) outfit for costume design for my game.

I'm still laughing because of "take a piss in the living room" hahahahahaha xD
That would take the meaning of "pissing off Claude" to a whole new level :D

Yes, an overview of the characters where you can see his outfit was posted here

I also have some of his CGs and the "group photo" of all the princes where you can see his outfit a bit better

His outfit is inspired by Turkish clothes though, isn't it? You could try looking up traditional Turkish clothes and what not if you like the style of it c: The patterns look very nice too~
  8. Skarrow Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Well if we can figure out a way to hack the game maybe we can achieve this

I'm glad I amuse you so much :P
I also realized hours ago that I could just fix the post, or just delete the entire thing, but it's a hilarious mistake that serves as cannonfodder for torturing me and never letting me forget it ever a lesson to all who see it. Plus, it's a shame to take it down and leave people who will pick up this thread in the future wondering what the fuss was about.

    P.S.

Those pictures of Aslan... are perfect....

I was bored so I did a redesign of the 'knight of my heart' game:

I tried to give them a variety of face shapes while also reflecting what little of their personalities I could gather. Jacques got Tahno hair.
Poor Henri, they gave him skin the color of a rotting corpse in the original art...

They should hire you as their artist, Ivi. I'm sure you'd do a much better job!

was sick.. got better... came here.. seen the "westernized" horrors..

    kind of
    prefers too fall ill again!

( and my reaction to the sequel was.. wow, Is that a game like " guess whos is cosplaying who?" but glad to see that the mode changed and there is no more petit prince -like blue coat with oversized collar

And NOW, talking about coats, I've pointed out the very reason I'm found Roberto's red uniform, Just because it's seems to be a mix between the britsh army uniform during the independence war aaaaand Oscar ( and any character that reminds me Oscar, in the slightest way automatically gains points with me :D)
Getting head over heels for XVIIIth century uniforms and tricorns... I'm hopeless, I guess...

Off on a completely different tangent: I finally got around to playing Keith's sequel route.

    It's hilarious.

  15. Haniel Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Can we do Keith's route next? I want to see all of his tsundere glory...
  16. Joie de Combat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I am okay with this plan! I'm biased, though, because I actually like Keith. I suspect a good many folks on the forum are going to hate him for the crap he pulls in his first few chapters.

His dere switch better be enough to compensate for that, then <3

  20. Tome-Chan Already Beat BF's New Expansion

His dere switch is so powerful that I skip through the first few chapters just to replay it. It's one hell of a dere switch ❤
  21. Joie de Combat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Keith is the first route in any of these games where I stopped saving before the end so I could replay from chapter 5 whenever I wanted.

You guys convinced me. If there is enough dere to redeem the tsun, then the route is totally worth it.
I just feel sorry for Edward. No one seems to care about the guy.
  23. Joie de Combat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I like Edward okay, but since he's the "princely nice guy" option, he just kind of doesn't stand out as much as some of the other guys.

I'm still a little disappointed at his lack of a hidden dark side.

Oh, I like Edward - a LOT more than Joshua actually, who I just found kind of .. meh. (Both himself as a character as well as his route) Then again I do have a thing for the "Prince Charming" kind of guys, sooo. Hmm, when I think about it Edward and Keith are tied for me I guess? Sometimes I like Edward more, sometimes Keith depending on my mood or something ;)

It's just that the perfect Prince Charming variety isn't as popular anymore due to the belief they are boring, predictable, overdone and unrealistic. I don't like this type in shoujo manga because they usually are all those traits and then some. Plus the girl always has to be a complete mess to compensate and/or be a ''shy'' type that makes me want to scream 'get a spine' at them. Yes, I can understand insecurity but Japan takes it too far most of the time like they do with everything (esp. rule 34).

I think the Prince Charming needs some sort of a twist to garner interest because it's all been done before during the period where romanticized characters were popular.

I'll be honest here, I'm only interested in Edward because he looks like a Targaryen (I was being completely serious when I said this was a personal obsession) and because he is the canon route.
So I understand that he lacks the appeal of, say, Wills.
But these kinds of characters can be done well, like how in your LP of Tokimemo, Hazuki ended up being one of my favorite love interests.
  30. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

For the first time, I'm not going to read what's under a spoiler tag.

But I do want to say that yes, the Prince Charming trope can be played straight if pulled off well. It's just... Rare these days.

You interested in A Song of Ice and Fire, Randissimo? <3 <3
You should totally read it, y'know.
You and everyone else in the world.

And well, it's rare, yes. It's an old trope, it's been used in every way possible by now, and romanticized characters lost their charm long ago.
But any trope can be used well if the author is good enough.

I looked up Targaryen and goodness, they're gorgeous. Mind explaining Game of Thrones to me quickly so I can see if I'd want to watch the series?

Yes. Though, I'm not sure if I would classify Hazuki as a Prince Charming, that insinuates that he's, you know, charming. I find him utterly charming but for different reasons than the traditional meaning. He's more of a Perfect Prince with lovely additions. Prince Charming requires every living female to find to him attractive and even trend-lover Natsumi minorly disses him as soon as you meet her.

edit: Having looked up A song of ice and fire; so is the television series Game of Thrones an adaptation of what I presume is the first book in this series?

Protag-chan ends up being the strong one in Edward's route. His route plays a lot differently than everyone else's, with more of a focus on the two of them and less on external events. It feels like...a more private, intimate story, I guess you could say.

The first season of Game of Thrones is an adaptation of the first book of the Song of Ice and Fire series that shares its name, while the second season is an adaptation of the second book, A Clash of Kings. The third and fourth seasons will be both based on the third (and best) book, A Storm of Swords.
SOIAF is complicated to explain. It does not have a Protagonist in the normal sense of the word, rather, it has many protagonists whose point of view is told throughout the series. Each chapter is told by a different POV, this way you can have a look at the inner machinations of several characters' minds.
The plot of SOIAF is based around the continent of Westeros and the noble lords and ladies that rule it. The series focus on all the complicated nuances of the politics of ruling such a strong continent, and all the power struggles within. There are 7 kingdoms in Westeros, all ruled by one noble House who, in turn, is ruled by the king. There are minor lords who rule smaller dominions, whose loyalty lies within the Lords of their kingdom. Feudalism, basically.
Besides the delicious politics and all those web of lies and power struggles that come with it, A Song of Ice and Fire is still a highly character-centered story.
They have all kinds of characters, from stupidly naive idealists and impossibly ambitious people, to chess masters and creepily insane nobles, and they are all well-written and interesting on their own, with strong motivations and plausible, interesting back stories.
And the particularly awesome thing about the series is to see how the author will play around with the characters, their tropes and your expectations of them. To see how the insane got to be the way they are; or how the ambitious will achieve everything they have ever dreamed of, only to have it all taken from them in the bat of an eyelid; to wonder how the innocents will break, and what will happen to them after that; to see the chess masters weave their incredibly complex plots and play all the other characters as if they're mere pawns... it is truly marvelous, I tell you.
To me, this is even more interesting than all the politics of Westeros.
I'll just warn you, though, do not become attached to any of the characters. There's a high possibility they will die in the most horrible manner whenever you're least expecting it to happen.

I tried my best to make this completely spoiler-free, so it doesn't explain much of the story, but I guess it gives you a pretty good idea of what this series is about.

And about Hazuki and Prince Charmings, are Prince Charmings supposed to be charming to everyone? I always thought they were supposed to be pretty, yes, but not have a following of raging fangirls wherever they went.

They're not necessarily mobbed by fans everywhere they go, but they do have to at least have an above-average level of social aptitude. Hazuki really... doesn't.

Please do. It's totally worth it.

I should probably tell you that there are currently 5 books in the series, with an average of 600 ~ 650 pages each and that there are still 2 books left that haven't been written.
"Why is that even important?" you wonder.
Why, the author, Mr. George R. R. Martin is terribly busy with the production of the HBO series, and he's not exactly the fastest writer on earth. The first book, A Game of Thrones, was released waaaaay back in 1996, and he took 5 years to write A Feast of Crows and 6 to write A Dance With Dragons. The sixth book, Winds of Winter, is set to be published only in 2014, but considering his current pace it may take even more.
The thing is, you'll have to wait a good while to read the conclusion of the series.
This is something that doesn't bother me at all, but my brother for example refuses to read anything that doesn't have an end.

I looked it up on Amazon and is there as much rape as the reviews say? Everything intrigues me but I hate reading sex and rape scenes. A lot. Why can't a book be grimdark and ''for adults'' without including rape?
