I would never think to analyze who stays and who goes based on their pay grade, but I guess it's one way to look at it.
The longer this show goes on the more I'm convinced that Geddy Lee has constructed the perfect non-zombie society.
I am working on a long training presentation, and to keep myself entertained, I have named the characters in my hypothetical housing discrimination scenarios after WD characters. "Herschel, a recent amputee, has a mobility impairment."
I hope you've included Daryl (Durl). Every flyscreen on his place may be torn, and that Camaro has been on blocks since he parked it on the lawn, but underneath the wifebeater is a heart of gold.
IIRC, Durl is being discriminated against by Phillip for hoarding. Or maybe that's Carl. I need to work in Merle racially harassing T-Dog. And I should have a small WD-related prize to give to the first person who comes up to me at a break and asks if I'm using WD characters.
Why do they keep trying to make Rick have emotions? The actor cannot emote. Just stop, please. I can't handle the constipated look he gets whenever he tries to have a feeling or think or do anything other than shoot someone in the face. They ought to work exlax into the show. The Durl/Curl 2gether5eva scenes kinda work. Durl is amazing at the feels and at being redneck thug so I still enjoy his screen time. Curl, uh, well. She's spent the whole show an elderly looking victim. If they have sex I will throw up. Durl got hilariously owned by Carl in the "my mom died in a shittier way" discussion "oh your mom burned to death? i shot mine in the head after she bled out from her pregnancy, and then a dead dude gobbled her up. sorry for your loss bro." I watched Lori dying on youtube and I gotta say it touched me deep inside my hate. I approve. Michigan swords all the things. I'm not sure what her backstory is but when I think female hero + shitty writing I think "Lifetime movie". So I'm putting my money on post rape butterfly. I hope I lose. The town is stupid. I'm guessing only a few episodes are left before it gets overrun. Were I running this show I'd have arranged things so that it'd air on thanksgiving. Nothing says thanksgiving like the wholesale massacre of civilians!
My wife keeps saying that she gets a "Prisoner" vibe from Woodbury. If the Governor ever says "We need...information." you'll know what's going on. I don't think the town will get overrun. The zombie menace isn't exactly menacing anymore, just a horribly terrifying new reality. Governor killing everyone not in the town however, probably will lead to problems.
Don't forget Andrea sexually harassing anyone in her field of vision. (Oh wait, housing discrimination? Well, maybe you can make it work.)
If know it'll never happen, but I hope that if Daryl does kill his brother he does so on sight. No chatting, no moral dilemma--just an instant crossbow bolt to the brainpan followed by a knowing glance at Carol, and then Game On.
Awesome, so now we are getting banners and ads saying that Verizon might drop AMC. It's worse than PBS pledge drives.
I don't know if you're just being unnecessarily flippant or just ignorant, but Verizon has been providing internet and television service via FiOS since 2005.
My favorite thing all night was the cut to how Walking Dead is brought to you by finger-lickin' good KFC immediately after the extended scene of the walkers getting messy with that 3-percenter in the woods. Because nothing makes me want to sink my teeth into a bucket of chicken like watching some intensely graphic cannibalism.
Yeah well, it's unnecessary. Having to look at this shit at the first 2 minutes after every commercial break has me feeling punchy.
As a Dish customer, they did drop AMC for quite a while. We ended up watching quite a bit of Breaking Bad and the first couple WD episodes using Amazon Video. It's not really an idle warning. Dish ended up giving anyone who called statement credits enough to cover buying the full seasons of AMC shows through online streaming sites to keep them from dropping the service.
Going to be intensely graphic cannibalism in my house if Verizon drops AMC. Jeezus. Looks like this week was just an appetizer for next week's full course get down.
Far too much time spent in Woodbury once again. All those scenes with prostate-cancer man only bogged down the episode and kept us from the adventures of Rick and the Oscarnauts. Also yet more references to T-Dog. Couldn't have had that when he was alive could we.
I kept waiting for Andrea to tell the guy about her adventures at the CDC, wherein a real scientist conducted the exact same experiment but with actual equipment instead of a phonograph and a couple pictures.
I noticed that as well, I wonder if that was planned. I keep hoping Andrea will get killed and I'm really worried Glen and his GF will instead.
I had the same thought on the KFC. I turned to the wife and said... Chicken Fingers! :) I hated the dumbass doctor doing his tests. But it was outweighed by the Scooby gang's approach to Woodbury and the absolutely creepy ass Governor near rape scene. By the way that girl can act.. And Glen indeed rocked taking out the walker Merle left him
I like that Glen is a badass. I like that Rick has his shit together again. And he's even doing a little acting. I don't think he looked like he was about to shit his pants at all when he did the whole Carol scene. I don't like how I don't have any sense of The Governor actually having a plan of any sort. He seems to be quite sane, but he doesn't seem to be directing his actions toward any actual end. At this point, we just see that he's tracking down and murdering people that aren't in his group, but we don't have any clue as to why. If he really is a Jim Jones sort of guy, I'd have preferred to see him lose his shit at least once before now to indicate that he really is unablanced. I'm honestly at a loss as to what happens after the midseason finale next week. From the looks of things, I don't know where they could possibly go, unless they're overplaying the badassery a touch.
Sorry. I must admit that I don't really see how that's spoiling anything about anything, but I think I put the part in question in tags. I think. Like I said, I'm not a hundred percent on what, in particular, the problem is with. At this point, the comic and the show are so far apart that they should probably just be treated as separate things.
As someone who's never read the comic, or any comic for that matter, the revelations I've read have done nothing to ruin the show for me. If anything it gives me a little backstory. I've really been enjoying the webisodes. I sure hope they make some kind of money from them, as I could watch thousands of those little stories of how average people dealt with the situation. It would be even better as some sort of follow up show I'd watch. Sure as hell better than the myriad of horrible reality shows flooding the airwaves.
I'm also not a reader of the comic, and I'll agree that on this point I don't see any actual spoilage. If anything, I find it interesting that they seem to be taking a different path regarding this whole plotline than what was done before, but it's more like you're describing the characters from the "Over There" universe version of things.
Well, ok then. Perhaps I read more into the comment, because I know exactly, what he is alluding to. Feel free to click on my spoiler then, but don't blame me afterwards.
