If it wasn't a plot point I'd be able to ignore it because handsome men sparkling is normal in manga.

One thing is they sparkling like "Oh my god he's so beautiful he shines to my eyes!", but other is sparking like "I'M A MONSTER, MY SENSIBLE LADY VAMPIRE SKIN SPARKLES IN THE SUN! HOW CAN YOU BEAR TO LOOK AT ME?"

We should introduce Edward to the Bishōnen.

Seconding Koko ni Iru yo! It's probably the sweetest, most saccharine manga I've ever read and I kept crying tears of moe and hngggghhh because the main character is just so adorable I want to squish her adorable little head into my chest whenever I see her.

Looking back at that now, CLAMP got away with a lot in a children's manga that I didn't understand at the time.

Does Arisa count as a shoujo manga? The style is very shoujo and it focuses on a rebellious young high school girl who switches places with her honor student twin sister and unrequited loves fly all over the place and also bombs and cults? Like [redacted] is pushed out of a window? And the entire class kills a man? And [redacted] attempts to murder [redacted] with explosive [redacted]s and [redacted]'s [redacted] led to [redacted] losing the [redacted redacted] and [redacted]'s mother left [redacted] and [redacted] to die when they were [redacted] years old? So it's a thriller, too? I guess?

But not my first ever anime. It was Pokemon and Sailor Moon, when I didn't even knew what was the difference between anime and cartoons.
