All that I've learned from Sugar Junkie is that French television is blocked in most places, but it should be blocked in all places.

I can't speak French, but I would've watched the hell out of that show.

I knew that song as a kid, but I could never figure out what that means.

Ohh, childhood shows? I had many, but 31 Minutos was the best thing ever; A news program conduced by puppets, plushes and dolls, with stealthy social commentary under all the cute and full of snark. It also had an awesome section with songs (sung by puppets too).

Speaking french doesn't add that much to the show. Amusingly enough, that's not even the weirder (nor the most nightmare fuel inducing) thing that was on tv.

I'm glad I could understand everything they sang here.

It's so hard to explain this show. It was like a sketch-show for kids, but this show had one of the most distgusting, rude jokes in the history of Dutch television. And I don't know if you've ever seen Dutch television but yeah. It's also, to this day, one of my favourite programs ever. In the nineties, nobody really gave a shit that kids were watching it. In fact, the first ever complaint about this show was filed in 2004, about the reruns, almost a decade after the first episode.
It doesn't come through in the clip, but it's hard to find something you wouldn't have to translate and the translation would ruin most of the jokes. Plus, I think the humour is too culturaly determined. Tomorrow morning I'll try to find something that shows exactly how lewd this program was

Oh, so it was supposed to be! I'm not sure whether to be relieved or not.

The guy's basically narrating what's happening right? I'm not the greatest at French but I could figure out that much. Also pretty proud of myself that I remembered what a légume is.

Yeah and everything rhyme. It was a belgian sentai parody. I loved it, my father recorded it and I kept on watching the episodes over and over again.

I think there was a dubbed version in Nickeloedeon at some point, but it's pretty obscure.

(And Sofalisa, I'm happy to say I also understood everything said there. Romance languages are pretty similar, aren't they. <3)

The weirdest childhood cartoon I remember was this one where an old man who apparently climbed mountains for fun saved this talking armadillo and as thanks he led him to the center of the mountain where there was a magical gourd and from that magical gourd a magical gourd vine sprang and the gourds talked and also a scorpion demon and his magic snake demon wife awoke from their thousand year slumber and lots of things happen but long story short the gourds kind of hatch into small boys one by one and try to stop them but they fail until all seven of them work together and seal the demons away forever by turning into giant rocks?
And yes, the old man died.
It was very feels-heavy.

Ra Tim Bum Castle. It was about a weird castle with weird people doing weird stuff. I love this opening song so much.

Weirdest show I can remember was a Mickey Mouse cartoon where some sort of evil scientist in a castle kidnapped Pluto to do experiments like cutting his shadow in half to make a two legged dog who would hatch out of an egg and Mickey ran through this trap filled castle yelling Pluto's name.
...Suddenly I understand where my daydreams are influenced from.

It is about taking care of ADORABLE children. There's another one advertised in a latter chapter's back pages (something with love or ai in the title) that's good too. That one even has a believable blossoming love between a preschooler and an older man but is still ADORABLE children.
