So Something Awful had a "Worst of 2012" vote. Here are the results: Worst Cartoon about a tragedy F (Benghazi terrorist attack) With 25% of the votes, of 11 nominees, Michael Ramirez gets a Pantsy Award! Sean "Vilerat" Smith was a friend to many members of this site, and a cartoon that desecrates his grave easily secured the dishonour of our first Pantsy. Worst fiscal cliff cartoon A With 66% of the votes, of 3 nominees, Michael Ramirez gets another Pantsy Award! He wins this award for making an inaccurate metaphor that doesn't even support his political position. Worst dog-on-roof cartoon B With 51% of the votes, of 4 nominees, Eric Allie gets a Pantsy Award! This cartoon shamelessly equivocates Obama eating dog meat as a child and Romney mistreating his pet dog as an adult. Worst election cartoon D With 36% of the votes, of 7 nominees, Michael Ramirez gets a third Pantsy Award! There will be a recount, as cartoon A (also by Ramirez) received 35% of the vote. Worst rape cartoon B With 42% of the votes, of 5 nominees, Glenn McCoy gets a Pantsy Award! It takes a McCoy to say the rape of children is no worse than consenting sex between adults. Worst caricature B, "Goombama" With 46% of the votes, of 6 nominees, Joe Liccar gets a Pantsy Award! This grey-faced abomination hardly appears human, let alone a likeness of President Obama. Worst "A Thing Happened" cartoon C With 25% of the votes, of 6 nominees, Dave Granlund gets a Pantsy Award! There will be a recount, as cartoons D and F each received 22% of the votes. Worst label A With 44% of the votes, among 9 nominees, Michael Ramirez gets a fourth Pantsy Award! It takes courage to label a Mountain of Debt, representing Mount Debtmore, with the word DEBT. Least concealed bigotry in a cartoon D Cracka, knock out mah Roosevelts? Chris Muir gets a Pantsy Award with 31% of the vote, among 8 nominees. Laziest cartoon B With 40% of the votes, among 9 nominees, Bob Gorrell gets a Pantsy Award! This confusing and brazen piece of mimicry outstripped the combined vote totals of all three all-black cartoons in this category. Most easily reinterpreted D With 28% of the votes, among 8 nominees, Chuck Asay has written A Good Cartoon. Asay meant to show the party on the left as the wrong choice, and for this failure we award him a Pantsy. Overall worst political cartoon of the year A With 57% of the votes, among 8 nominees, Gary McCoy has a Pantsy Award alongside his brother. McCoy viciously slandered a private citizen who explained the non-sex-related reasons for birth control pills, and then denied the connection between this cartoon and the real Sandra Fluke.
