The political cartoon joke (Penny Arcade in specific made a good example of it) about them pretty much always making zero sense is something I don't buy into, but then this comes along and yes, what could it mean anywhere ever? Obama is playing the organ and his issues are the pipes? And somehow all those issues are white issues? And the GOPaphant is playing the accordion, which is too white for the Liberals? But accordions are less whitey than pipe organs and so that is the point, they are hypocrites? Or lying? I don't know.

This is a wonderful morale-raiser after the shitty ones. Really makes me smile.

Allow me to explain the organ comic:

See how all of those pipes are labelled with different things? This is to symbolize that Obama "played" those groups or issues in order to get re-elected. The GOP, being ideologically pure, did not pander to these crazy groups* and instead stayed true to their culturally rich heritage of... polka music.

* Also known as "voters".

That's not entirely true. Some of them refute him with "because the Constitution." Which is pretty much the only pro-gun argument anywhere ever.

Honestly, the fiscal cliff cartoons are the only ones that infuriate rather than amuse me. For one thing, they're all the same as each other, but from the political perspective it's the just most irritating issue in the world and seeing these right-wing douchebags talk about it as though it's a legitimate problem that Obama isn't solving to their satisfaction as opposed to something the Republicans inflicted on us just to be dicks* is just maddening.

To be fair the whole thing started as both sides being dicks but, at this point, the Republicans are the ones being dicks yes (the Democrat plan now involves both tax hikes, and entitlement cuts while the Republican plan is just the entitlement cut part of the "fiscal cliff" underlined twice) And the whole "fiscal cliff" thing, which has been extended twice now before we went over the edge, is a bipartisan stupid.

To be even more fair it started with just the Republicans being dicks. The fiscal cliff is the result of a failed stupid bipartisan "solution" to a stupid made-up problem that the Republicans invented, so while it demonstrates that Congress is a joke all around, the Republicans are who I blame for it.

Yeah, it's important to not miss the forest of Republican dick for the dicks you're right.

Also since my blood is up now, I'll say that my real problem is that this issue is just so fucking farcical that all I want to do is pretend it doesn't exist because it says the worst things possible about the US government's effectiveness. It's literally a bunch of morons got together and decided to commit economic suicide over their stupid principles, and they were talked off the ledge by saner but almost as stupid people who agreed to implant a time bomb in our economy instead. I don't know how serious the effects are going to be but it's absolutely appalling that we're even in this situation, because it was caused directly and completely by idiotic politics. And it just really pisses me right off to see these partisan hacks treat like any other policy dispute. Fuck them.

I think it's accordion because it's, in a sense, also organ but a small one -- so the message would be something like, the republicans didn't play any issues which left them with instrument/tune that impressed no one and only made the democrats sneer at them. But it's convoluted as hell.
