"Unearned fame" is one of the "anything but guns" excuses: the shooters, sorry, the random disenfranchised youths who would have used anything to carry out their rampage are only doing it for fame. They see other kids getting on TV and decide they should do the same thing to be on TV. You'll notice that this is the same technique they use on people who run on the field during ball games.
This puts the blame squarely on the media and has the bonus that if they ever did stop reporting these shootings the NRA can go "See? You never hear about shootings any more: problem solved."
"Pop culture" only makes sense since there's never been popular culture before so...

He has this desperate disorder to jam in those awkward references.He has about a panel and a half to make his point with the rest reserved for awkward set up and then execution.
Not to mention his completely and totally unnecessary adherence to the "comic strip" format that necessitates trimming. If it had more and larger panels, something completely possible on the internet, he could fit more words in. Instead he "has" to condense paragraphs of Right Wing talking points into three or four panels.

2. Never enough Day by Day -- I mean this. Otherwise, I trust your judgment on what to present. You do really good work with retrospectives and collections -- be creative.

3. What I'd really like to see is you to continue the really fine work of collecting and presenting these images for our mutual horror without commenting on them. I hope that doesn't make you angry, but you asked.
