I adore the middle frame just because the pose screams "who cares what this is about, how can I put her ass AND her rack in the same frame without having to bother drawing a mirror or any background whatsoever?"

Going to his site - amusingly 2 out of the 3 last strips have basically the same "woman with arms akimbo resting on the small of her back" pose.

    1) Otterloop, you may care a little too much about this comic.

    2) I haven't read them all, but the ones I have read I don't understand at all. Guy's a shitty writer in addition to being a shitty artist.
  10. Hanzii Magister Mundi Elyscape

A Ministry t-shirt? How can she be wearing a Ministry t-shirt? Jourgensen is the guy that said the band would have to stop if the US elected a Democratic president because the anger at Bush was what fuelled the band.
(Yeah, the've reformed now anyway. Money is also a powerful motivator, but still...)

On the train, so I haven't clicked any of the spoiler-links. Looking forward to it.

I looked at it on my phone and I think it's maybe more accurate to say NSFEyes. I'm not even really sure why, because none of the individual components seem that bad, but when you put it all together there's just something a little off about it.

1: That's the insane part: every single month has a handful of awful, awful dregs, there's no work whatsoever involved in pulling up some terrible stuff. I didn't even get into the other laughable areas

Well, to be fair to the guy then, there was an apparently obscure picture of a left-handed General back in the day who favoured a revolver as his sidearm. So I guess it's a totally good cartoon again, just like the ones that draw Obama as Hitler and expect us to follow along because we're all figments of the author's twisted imagination anyways and therefore privy to his innermost thoughts.
    Elyscape likes this.
  33. Jason T Keeper of the Elemental Materials

Ok I think both Ramirez and everything I've ever seen by him suck hilariously, but it was a really obvious Patton reference and Patton references are not obscure. He normally does mind-destroyingly terrible cartoons whereas that is one that could basically have been done by any cartoonist in the country with the reasonable expectation that Joe Q. Paperreader will go "Eh, a Patton reference. But in boxers. How very mediocre," and flip the page.

Hey guy: I'm not the one suggesting it's so obvious that a quick Google search will turn it up, now am I?

EDIT: Which is, you know, the problem I had. I don't live in Ramirez's little bubble of geriatrics and connoisseurs of American exceptionalism propaganda. If you go back and read my first post on the topic again, you might even have an inkling of a suspicion that I might be aware of a few things about US military history.

But hey, I'm going to consider this carte blanche to namedrop Sübügätäi and his fellow dogs of war like you all should know their names and favoured weapons, even though it's a massive pain in the neck. Time to read up!

  39. extarbags Already Beat BF's New Expansion

You're the guy who did the Google search that did turn it up. Also, Omniscia's big mistake was telling you to search for "George S. Patton" instead of just "Patton." For the latter search, that movie poster is the third image. So yes, he did an imperfect job of instructing you on how to find the image that the comic was a reference to (though he must have done a serviceable one since you did, in fact, find said image). That doesn't make the reference any less clear.
    Lizard_King and Elyscape like this.
  40. Otterloop Beardy Magnificence

Sweety they are refering to the movie "Patton" starring George C Scott and this image:
Which, to be fair, has been parodied on everything from The Simpsons to South Park so...

Of course this means Ramirez drew Patrayues (whatever) as George C Scott who was married five times and not Patton who was an asshole bigot
