Or just laugh at my current new-egg cart I've hastily thrown together in 5 minutes. Anything I should swap out or a deal I overlooked? Not sure if I'm pulling the trigger on this yet but it seems like a good time. My current gaming rig dates back to the ancient times of early 2007! (OVER 5 years in the past!)

If you're going all-out, it might be worth throwing an SSD in there as well. It's not necessary, but it seems a bit odd to spend that much and not have one.

Yeah an SSD really is a must for any new build. The speed improvements are pretty fucking awesome.

Good catch, but I have one already I was gonna cannibalize from my old rig.

Yeah I might drop that down a peg or three.

LOL I just looked. Half my cart got nuked because of items being sold out. Still optimizing anyways.

Well, if you got the funds then go for it, I just have a hard time believing you need that unless you're trying to do Witcher 2 at full details on 1920x1200, which I think is still the baseline for how hardcore a system really is.

Yeah, if money's not an object you're probably good with that. You ought to be able to build a system that would perform at maybe 90% of that build for under $1k though, but as with most things it's eeking out that last bit of performance where the prices of components spike up.
