Huh, I never knew the lyrics to "Baby It's Cold Outside." I'm only familiar with an instrumental version of the tune (Jimmy Smith & Wes Montgomery, I think?) and now you've gone and ruined it. :(

Can someone explain why Roxette's "It Must Have Been Love" is on the christmas music rotation?

Key and Peele recently did a pretty funny skit ridiculing how rapey that song is. I'd link it but I'm on my IPhone and lazy.

You have not fully experienced that song until you're in an Irish club as they're closing just before Christmas and they put that on. People will grab anyone close to them and everyone will belt out drunken, beautiful lyrics.

I was gonna guess for the same reason the local station plays Adele and Sarah McLachlan's Building a Mystery on their Love Songs show. Because DJs are barely people and radio is mostly programmed by robots now anyway.

DJs have little if any say on what songs get played, program directors make those decisions.

I stopped doing radio and trying to get work at our national radio, when the robots took over - what's the point, if you're just the guy filling the spaces between the music picked by some algorithm?

I went to Ikea today and bought a new mattress and comforter. The cat is pretty stoked about them, though he would have continued sleeping on the bed either way. I couldn't quite bring myself to buy an herring paste, though. Instead I bought some swedish cookies. They had this deal where you got three packages for $3.99, so I got two chocolate and one apple. Turns out the apple was a lot better. Either way, I've eaten them all already.

Oh, and I have mild cold symptoms. Hurrah.

It's my last day at my current job, so of course the copier keeps breaking down (guess who gets to fix it?) and of course my most difficult clients keep calling and of course I have to keep reinventing the wheel and reprinting and re-sending memos and emails that my boss has lost. And on top of it, I'm massively hungover (sans headache, fortunately) following an evening of celebrating with a colleague who's also on their way to greener pastures in the near future.

All you people who think you know the "best Christmas song ever" don't know crap.

That is very weird. It's not like those things are necessarily expensive or hard to buy.
