Random thoughts and questions

Most of my house is linoleum or vinyl flooring, but I vacuum the carpeted parts that are my responsibility once a month. We have no pets.

Somewhat related: How often do you all change your bed sheets? I used to do once a week but now that we have coin-op laundry machines I'm inclined to cut back a bit. My dad said he does once a month but I'm a drooler so that doesn't really work for me.

1 - Usually weekly, sometimes twice a week if I've moved stuff around or am having guests over.

2 - depends on the size of your place, if you have pets, how high-traffic the place is, etc. Just for general dust and crud, once a week is a good schedule. Keeps the carpet from looking worn down in high-traffic areas and can prolong the nice appearance of carpet if not the longevity.

You could change the pillow cases more often. If you're like us, you have some random left over pillow cases from college. Those extra long twin sheets are long gone, but the pillow cases abide.

I, erm, fall off the pillows sometimes. Not sure how that happens, but I have awakened from underneath them before.

Sadly, I can't actually be on site this Hunt, so I can't drop 18 hours a day for three days straight into helping run it. ;(

Argh, I just can't resist the temptation of a 49 cent doughnut along with a Tim's coffee.

This is truly the real problem with doughnuts. So cheap. So accessible.

We have a place in town that lets you design your own donuts. And they don't start making them until you order, so they are hot every time.

I'm pretty sure my diabetes risk is skyrocketing.

A Tim Horton's just opened down the street from me, I pass it every morning on my way to work. I've never really been to one before, but I'm slightly hesitant to try, since their reputation implies that the donuts are topped with crack-laced frosting and their coffee is sweetened with cocaine. That may be a line best left uncrossed.

Wow...that takes me back to distant days of youth and special doughnuts at the French Pastry on Quinpool road in Halifax. I must try them!

I get Tim Horton's pretty often in the mornings, since it's so much cheaper than Starbucks or any other coffee place close by. I pretty much know the staff there so it's fun to go in and chat for a bit.

Don't they just serve regular brewed coffee, though? I'll go there if they have decent espresso.

Well, I dunno about what they're doing in 'Murica, but if they kept the Canadian menus then Tim Horton's will have all the other usual drinks; espresso (it is decent, imo, but I'm not a usual espresso drinker so I can't really say), mochas, lattes, tea, iced lemonade...I think they got smoothies recently, too...

Ugh. So much hate. Apparently there's an anti-smoking campaign that equates smoking to 'lame' things. So you get stuff like "Smoking is sooo floppy disk" and "Smoking is sooo white socks in sandals". One of them is "Smoking is sooo women with armpit hair". CUE FEMINIST RAAAAAAAAAGE.

(I would post this in the stupid shit you see people post thread but since there's a thing going on there right now I'm going to leave it here. Besides, this isn't so much something I saw posted as it is just general rage. Deal with it.)

I dated a very natural girl years back (we met in a percussion class, so it was fitting) and she was wonderful and we had a great relationship. The hair on pits and legs was a non-issue. (It's soft and blonde!)
