We've already established that Elyscape is a robot constructed poorly and out of wood.

    Also, the cheese burns alone.
Thoro and Juste must really like cheese since there are only like ten people in Norway.

Damn, near Narvik, that's close to where my family's from.
If I'd known, I might've tipped some cousins off about a free fondue.
(I have no idea how a brunost fondue would taste and don't particularly care to find out.)

Hah. We eat put that stuff on bread for our ho-hum ordinary everyday lunch.

Think I might have the flu. My fever was 102 most of the night but is down to 100 now. Feels MUCH better, actually! My throat hurts, and my tonsils seem swollen. Maybe tonsolitis? Whatever....had to cancel class today. I hate doing that!!
  5. Alligator Despondent Fancygator

Could be strep, too, since you were "nauseous" yesterday.
  6. jerri blank Despondent Fancybear

My 4-person office has been taken DOWN by winter yuck. I've been out since Tuesday with a bad cold (going in today), one of my employees has been out since Tuesday with strep, and a third is out today (and probably tomorrow) because of something. My last employee got on a plane to Chicago yesterday and may be sick too for all I know.

Feel better, RSharp. Sounds like flu to me.

    Sigh.

Too-soft gun control? Sexism in the workplace? Healthcare travesties? That shit's for amateurs. MY SANDWICH IS AN INCH TOO SHORT.

As for double posting, the posting on here has been slow lately, and I've found myself clicking twice as a result too. Had to delete a repeat yesterday.

"It's never lycanthropy" was right there for you and you messed it up. You are a bad person and you should feel bad. I mean after you recover. Then you should feel bad again, but in a different way.

I would be a lot happier doing all of these household things (cleaning, cooking, etc.) if I were shown just a little bit of appreciation for it. Just a little. A teeny, tiny bit.

    Why are women "dumb"?

I got a comment from a guy yesterday about how I sounded "tech-y" when I spoke. I asked hubby if he thought I sounded that way, and he said yeah. I asked him to explain further and he basically said, "Well women generally aren't expected to be smart, so people are taken aback when you are."

I guess I should just be happy that the person who made the comment sounded more impressed than threatened?

I'm sorry, Ely, honey. Have you given birth?
I don't think it's okay to do the "this pain is worse" argument unless you have experienced all pains that you are comparing. The only reason I posted the video is because I found it interesting.

Riposte: everyone gets kidney stones, regardless of gender.

Sidebar: It's a horrible thing, of course, since pain lasts forever and ever.

    Wait, it doesn't?

Suck it up and tough it out.

Telling people in pain of all kinds to suck it up and get over it because it won't last forever falls into so many categories of dick move.

Which would be true if that's what I was doing, you illiterate buffoon.

If you are in pain - as in currently, this moment, right now - then you have my sympathy.

If not, then you aren't going through anything that needs sympathy. Yes, giving birth hurts. It's supposed to. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Pain happens, then it's done.

It's been fixed through the latest patches. The "Epidural" expansion did a lot for the casual birthers, although the hardcore crowd seems to be against it.

My mother, being a nurse, knew all about epidurals and, between that knowledge and having assisted with several natural births, she was rather keen to have one when I was due. When the time actually came, I was in such a rush that everything was done before they even had the drugs in the room.

    ON A COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOTE!

I have officially deleted all of my screenshots from my LP, but I can't bring myself to delete the family. I don't think I'll be playing it anymore, but something's holding me back. I'd like to find out what, because I really would like to declutter the amount of families I've got in TS3.

Maybe back it up somewhere first? This seems like a prudent time to, once again, pimp GameSave Manager, which seems like it'd be helpful for that.

I forgot that I can't tell which save file is which. OH WELL, I still have the family, I don't need the entire experience, right? RIGHT!
  34. Lizzy Magister Mundi Elyscape

I agree, although the stupidest thing ever to come out of these conversations is the response "Well, yeah, but girls don't know what it's like to be kicked in the nuts!". I don't see why the equating of pain between the sexes is all that necessary. Can't we just all look at childbirth and say "hey, that looks like it kinda sucks a whole lot". I'm not expecting sympathy for being a woman (especially since I'm not planning to go through childbirth myself) but having to tear out your vagina to push through some baby will hurt. A lot. And in some cases even for 48 hours. So yeah, if you went through childbirth and/or are planning to go through childbirth, you have my sympathies.

Edit: The good thing that came out of this though was that I got to watch Valerio and Dennis go through pain. Hate those fuckers.

I didn't know you had children, MulMizu. How many?

And yeah, it is an interesting video. I would never do that though. Of course, I don't plan on having kids, so maybe I don't need to have the sympathy pain!

  38. MulMizu Broken Forum's Official Sassy Black Woman

FIFTEEN THOUSAND. My point wasn't to say that I've had kids and so i know the pain, it was to state that it's kinda dopey to compare one pain to another unless you've experienced both. For example, "having gallstones hurts more than period cramps" is a statement I can make because I have experienced both.

unrelated again, i am seriously craving sweets to the point of getting fussy, but I don't want to eat something bad and gain weight. SELF-CONTROL.

  39. RSharp Armchair Designer

Actually, it was when you said 'finally they understand' along with the comparison point. I just thought you were implying that you had done it before. It sounded like you were suggesting that YOU understand that pain. It wasn't meant to be snarky, though I can see why it came off that way. I just thought you had children based on your posts there, but you've never mentioned them.

I agree with your point about comparing pains. "they" say that kidney stones are awful, but I don't know. I did have a terrible pain in my kidneys once that made me double over for a couple of minutes in horrendous pain. It never happened again after that, so I don't know what it was.
  40. Alligator Despondent Fancygator

I've not had kidney stones, but Mr. A has and he says he wouldn't wish that on his worst enemies.

It was also apparently bad enough for him to basically give up drinking soda so that he gets enough water each day to try to keep stones from forming ever again. I'd been trying to get him to cut back on it for years before that happened, so at least some good came of it.
