Why. Why do I keep letting my sister borrow my stuff when every time it's returned it's scratched or stained? Jeeze, I keep thinking 'oh she should be old enough to respect my stuff now'.
And then she has the nerve to essentially say that by remarking that a character is (consistently for the entire book) funny, that I made him less funny. (She's in that phase where everything is someone else's fault.)
I need to shut up and leave her to her terrible, terrible vampire fiction.
She's a lost cause.

Dude, gravlax is totally not fancy stuff. It's like have-it-on-a-Triscuit snack food.

Gravlax is only as fancy if you want it to be. It's a side of salmon that you cure for two days in the fridge. A 12-year old could make it, but probably wouldn't have the patience.

They sell it in Ikea therefore it is not fancy.

Why don't restaurants charge more for vegetarian options?

I'm at the dining hall here on Bush campus, and the sandwich joint I just got a sandwich at is charging about $5.75 for a normal sandwich, and about $4.75 for a vegetarian. I get why they'd charge less - because the marginal production cost is lower - but what I don't get is the demand side of the equation. You'd think that you could take advantage of vegeterian's potentially rigid dietary restrictions to fleece them!

Can I get that gravlax without the side of recepten.se? I'm not a fan.

After two weeks, Chrome is working for me again. This is the happiest thing that has happened to me since exams started.

Two tech-related thoughts:

1) Oh, Chrome, how I adore thee. I have all my bookmarks on my iPad because of you, as well as my laptop's open tabs. <3

2) I just had to teach my MIL that she doesn't have to add up the numbers in a spreadsheet by hand with a calculator. She thinks I'm magic now.

Teaching my boss how to use =SUM() made me a wizard at my last job, too.

I'm fairly certain people think I'm a dark shaman when I start messing around with pivot tables.

This happened today: I mentioned pivot tables ONE TIME at work and all of a sudden I'm doing a major project pulling conclusions out of thousands of free text entries in a database because "you can just use pivot tables!"

Yeah, Vicodin. That was freaky. I mean, great for killing the pain of having my wisdom teeth yanked, but it was really unnerving to discover a drug that made me that damn happy so very easily. I would've preferred a straightforward painkiller that just killed pain.
