Right in front of everyone! That'll make it the first route where the relationship is actually recognized by anyone else in the cast. WOOO GO SHIN!

Torahiko does it too! He has a particularly painful little speech near the end of Tatsuki's route where he says he hopes you're happy and that he's sure Tatsuki will treat you well. It's filled with awkward pauses and Torahiko is obviously trying not to cry.

I thought Shin's nose was protag's eye at first. Then I realized what it was, and now I can't think of the protag as anything but white-eyed. It's a disturbing mental image. But it doesn't stop me from being curious about this game. I think I'd wait for the translation before downloading, though, just so I don't have to update it a month later.

Oh, but Hiroyuki does have a perfectly normal face!

By the way, a few of the members of the translation project have gone and made a visual novel. Well, there are two projects, but there's one pretty close to a demo release! It's called The Village That Never Sleeps, and the demo I was talking about is apparently coming out next month!



All of the love interests are 18 and up, so I am probably going to LP this (the demo as well as the final product). Love interests include a raccoon, a cheetah, a Tappei-like bull and a coyote, who is the canon love interest.

Naw, I still cringe at Morenatsu's sex scenes. I'm okay with furry, but I don't find it... appealing.

It's the personality of the guys that draws me. Then again, I do assume Hiroyuki is an anthro most of the time or just disregard the guys' beastman status unless mentioned.

I like how the characters have actual personality flaws that go beyond "cold and brooding". It makes the relationships more honest and realistic, even though you are romancing anthropomorphic animals.

It feels weird to speak of realistic when referring to anthropomorphic animals. It also feels stupid to speak of weird when referring to something on this forum.

Yeah, I liked the way they handled both the characters and the relationship. Hiroyuki might be a bit of a creeper in general, but he isn't as "blank-slateish" as other protags. And come on, we all have a little bit of a creeper inside. Sometimes you gotta hug your inner creeper.

...I should note, I'm choosing to ignore the existence of Shun's route.

Hiroyuki is actually a pretty decent person on Shin's route. He's considerate of others and rarely has any ulterior motives, even when he's attempting to resuscitate Shin with mouth-to-mouth when he thinks he's fallen unconscious (he was actually just sleeping under a tree). So he's still a bit of an idiot, but at least he's a nice idiot now.

I am blaming you all for how I played this for three hours instead of doing my homework (which was due today) last night. Thank you! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must make fanart.

Hiroyuki only acts weird in the bad ending branch. When it comes to everything else he's perfectly normal and even less creepy than he is in the other route. I'd say Shin-route Hiroyuki is probably the best Hiroyuki if not for the bad ending.

As for the good route...

Shin's butler, Amaki, might just rival Tappei on my favorite character list. He's just so sweet and kind and it's impossible to hate him.

Okay, so now I know to NOT TOUCH THE BAD ROUTE EVER.

Okay, at least now I know that it's only on the Bad End. I'm never been one lover of 'em so I won't have much problems steering away from it.

Not touching the bad route. I hope the game won't have some extra-route who requires all the endings or something. Because otherwise I would have to try and crack the code.

Juuichi's bad ending is just so over the top it skyrockets past 'wat' territory and straight into 'WHY'.

On a brighter note:

I'm torn between liking Hiroyuki as a special, different protag or disliking him over his OMGWTF moments. I'm leaning towards the former though.

Hey, finally feel safe posting on here because my friend streamed a bit of the game... though, we accidentally went for Shin's route because we didn't know it was ready yet (Also we decided he sounds like/possibly is Lumpy Space Princess. I'm not sure how this happened. Also Kyouji was first Irish, but then he suddenly became Canadian because IDK.) And don't worry; I am making the let's player not play Shun's route, and even more so after what I read. He thinks Shun's cute but he doesn't know the horrors of his route, and I hope he never will.

SO YEAH /randomness end/ This game still seems pretty awesome... even if I'm a bit worried about the sex scenes because ew mayo.

The English alpha for Shin's route is out! You can download it at the translation site, but it requires the original Japanese Juuichi/Shin patch, which shouldn't be too hard to find.

Remember that it's an alpha. Juuichi's route isn't plugged yet and going out with him makes the game crash. Also, some of the new dialogue in Kounosuke's route isn't translated yet.

First demo coming out in February, folks.
