Played this a bit last night, and it is indeed Descent with a Tron vibe. The music is great too. So far it's a bit linear, though I only played for a bit so I'm still in the opening. I've only got two weapons so I haven't seen much of the variety either, but I like the "scan a surface and shoot it" alternate weapon effects.
I am intrigued. Do you get to frantically try to escape from an exploding tunnel complex as the last phase of a level? And do you have to deal with a bastard ThiefBot equivalent?
So far it doesn't have either of those things, though I'm not that far in. I'd be surprised if it frequently had exploding tunnels though, as you're trying to save the machine you're on, not destroy it! The Descent-ness extends mostly to the controls.
Do you find yourself going through the exact same hallway but upside down, and thinking it's actually a new area? That's Descent to me.
Fuck roll correction. Real men do their own barrel rolls! Lovely little game. could do with the escape panic from descent tho. otherwise its just a slow, methodical cleansing of the pipes so to say.
