I went to sleep 4 in the morning here, drunk in sleepiness, 'cause I couldn't sleep while I waited for my family to get home. I have this problem.
Then I woke up burning in extreme heat at 8. I thought the world was really ending and everything was on fire already. For a second, I thought "Damn, they really got it right this time."

This GMT business has never been explained to me. All I can say is it's 4am right now, and for the past couple weeks I've been going to sleep anywhere between 5AM and 9AM. I find it very difficult to tear myself away from reading and I don't fall asleep easily. >>;

GMT is short for Greenwich Mean Time. It was originally the time zone at the Royal Observatory, and is roughly the same as UTC. It's generally used as the international means of denoting your time zone, by marking how many hours ahead or behind you are of GMT. So, in the United States, on the east coast, I'm on Eastern Standard Time, which is GMT -5. Does that help?
