If you want answers to specific questions about things that don't have to do with your ban from D&D, then it's unwise to muddy the waters with claims that you were "falsely" accused when it happened, because that's a related but different subject that is going to engender a fair bit of opposition on its own.

So if you want to talk about prospective rules for a hypothetical subforum, I suggest you stop trying to make it a referendum on your limited ban and an attack in general on the current status of the forum's rules. If you want to do those other things, then you might find it more profitable to engage them in their own right because all three at once, shifting back and forth at your convenience, is just going to result in a mess.

I would assume that part of the purpose of this thread was then to move on with the crafting of those rules if there was enough interest in merging the two. The thing is, the rules only kind of matter if in fact the problem is personalities that game the rules because they believe that building up a deposit of "likes" in non-controversial posts gives them a supply of credibility to spend on threadshitting elsewhere or that their own defects in comprehension, logic should be exposed in long, dramatic arguments over and over again (that's where you come in again). That's what I think many of us were getting at in saying that tiered forum posting structure just works when you are dealing with people whose malignant narcissism blocks their empathy, or who lack basic reasonableness, or who exhibit a reprehensible set of opinions that they leak out in a carefully measured manner designed to incite while only bending the rules (the last doesn't describe you, fwiw). These differently toxic personalities are difficult to address with a prescriptive set of rules that apply to everyone, because the more you codify, the more it becomes apparent that your own sense of fair play is being weaponized against you.

So, again, pitch what you think would be reasonable rules if you're interested. "Minimize ad hominem attacks, incendiary language, and don't threadshit as a matter of course" works to generate one culture in D&D (this is more or less what is covered by the "don't be a dick" that people were referencing), and "You have some leeway with those things, just don't get carried away or transition to harrassing/disproportionately hateful behavior" works to generate another in Sanctum. In both cases, a pattern of behavior obviously designed to troll people or demonstrating a general disregard for how basic reasonableness is employed by adults will result in tyrannical prerogative considering the whole arc of your conduct and acting accordingly, even if specific instances on their own would technically fit under the rules. This has worked pretty well in providing "trial stages" for banning people outright, as well as insulating the forum broadly from endless flamewars that bore the shit out of everyone.

What would your suggestion be, and what would be the advantages of it relative to the existing regime?
