Yeah, that's pretty much your only option if you want to do audience participation polls in an LP thread, since you can't edit the thread to add a poll to it after the thread's been posted.
Well, realistically you're going to get asstons of likes in LP threads anyway; you're really just asking the readers NOT to like the posts they don't want to vote for. So I suppose it could work there. Anywhere else, and it's a terrible substitute for editable polls that creates more problems than it solves.
