Show me your Pokemon!

In case anyone hasn't noticed, there are a whole lot of Pokemon LPs going on in the Let's Play forum, but no centralized board for gushing over your team or discussing what they would taste like or wondering why none of these children are educated in matters that don't involve super-powerful monsters. ... Is this in the wrong section? If it is, I'm sorry. I'm also sorry if anyone else was planning on making a Pokemon board here or wherever the right section is. Yep. Sorry.

Anyhow! Let's all sit around in our pajamas and talk about Pokemon! Which games have you played so far? Any unique runs? Nuzlocke? The Last Airbender? I've just started a Puella Magi run of White 2 and I think it's going pretty smooth right now... But now that I think of it I should probably focus on finishing Black 2 normally first? And my favorite pokemon is Butterfree! Am I doing this right? Starting a discussion? Am I?

Oh boy. Pokemon is probably my favourite franchise ever.
I've been playing ever since R/B was released in Germany in 1999. I own Red, Yellow, Silver, Sapphire, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black, and Black 2.
I've also played most of the spin-offs but couldn't really get into them. Except for Pokemon Snap. God, do I love the hell out of Snap (where is my Pokemon Snap 2, Game Freaks? WHERE?).

My favourite Pokemon is Clefairy. I just love that chubby pink fairy. I remember staying awake every Sunday night, so I could watch them dance in Silver.
When it coms to characters, Cynthia is my waifu. I also love Red; the final battle against him in G/S/C was just epic. That music, hng.

Uhm, what else ... Oh yeah, I love trading! If anyone is interested in getting German Pokedex entries for B/W(2) - hit me up!

Let's see now, I own Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Sapphire, Emerald, Leaf Green, Heart Gold, and Black. I've only played one spinoff game, the Pokémon Trading Card Game and I liked it, but as for other spinoffs, I've never seen the appeal. I hate pinball and adding in a Pikachu won't change that.

I usually no-items-nuzlocke everything because it gives me a challenge and an excuse to not catch 'em all. I do not want to catch them all. I just want to catch Charizard and have a whole party of nothing but orange dragons. Most of the characters in the game are interchangeable to me because, God damn it game, just give my orange dragon.

Hey, Donmai, would you mind explaining what a Puella Magi run is?

I only own Plantinum. Sad, I know. I'm not doing any special runs, because the only one I know of is Nuzlocke, and I suck at Pokemon much too much too even consider that. I am naming all my 'mons after Zelda characters, though. My team isn't much to talk about at the moment, but I'll be getting an Eevee soon which hopefully I can manipulate into a Espeon. Anyone else have a favorite Eeveelution?

I was always partial to Vaporeon.

I own Red, Silver*, Crystal, Ruby and Emerald and I have been allowed to try Yellow and Diamond. My newest GB is a GBA, so Emerald was sort of the natural end destination. My tactic tended to be 'play alongside brother who owns Blue, Gold, Sapphire and trade wth him as need arises then get bored of CTA and trudge through game and they agonize over whether to restart'. I never used nicknames before seeing the Nuzloke runs. A bit sad where Diamond was concerned because I ave them all Les Mis names and then I had to give them back ;_;. Enjolras was a Ponyta. A glorious Ponyta. I want Platinum so badly just because Ponyta is available even earlier. I have a Ponyta problem.

That is the best thing ever. If I run out of Zelda names I'm totally going to do this, and have a glorious Zelda/Les Mis crossover.

And I recommend Platinum! It's quite fun so far, even if now I can't get Vide!Dawn out of my head ;__; Ponyta is super easy to find, yes. Mine's Epona.

I figure I would have run out eventually, and then Zelda names tossed in seems legit* XD. And Epona is the best Ponyta name ever.

I think Javert was a Prinlup, Cosette was a Budew, Thénardier a... skunk thing, Gavroche was that electric cat thing, Spinx?, Fantine was the... bird thing... Éponine was a Chingling, I remember that much.

*Zelda and Javert really are OTP.

Let's see, been playing since R/B and got back into semi-competitive play three years ago. I've won some incredibly tiny tournaments (6-11 participants) and placed favorably at regionals and LCQ's in Indianapolis (though not favorably enough to advance to nationals).
I have played through 3 Nuzlocke runs, winning 2 (LeafGreen and Moemon Emerald).
My favorite pokemon from each generation are: Zapdos/Vaporeon, Chikorita, Sableye,Spiritomb and Alomomola.
Generally my naming schema is to make puns based on the evolutionary line.
Also Davian: it sounds like you have the same issue as the leader of the Kanto Pokemon club, with his Rapidash fetish. Seriously the guy is obsessed to the point where anyone willing to listen to him gets a bike.

Yeeeaaaaaah, that was creepy to me even as young as I was playing Red for the first time. That guy is a regular old headcase XD

I just like Ponyta because it was a horse which was a big deal to me when I was twelve years old, had the original number 77 (seven being my lucky number), Fire type (red is my favourite colour) and big, dark eyes. I was DEVASTATED in Red when I culdn't get one until Cinnabar, so Charmander always had a soft spot in me, too.

I like Fire types. As a general thing I really like fire types. Numel, Slugma, the whole rotation.

The only special run I know of is Nuzlocke. What the heck is Last Airbender and Puella Magi? Is there a Buffy or Doctor Who?

Anyway, first Pokemon game I played was Ruby which I borrowed from my cousin and followed up was Emerald, LeafGreen, Pearl, SoulSilver and then White and White 2. I'm not nearly into the main franchise as I was several years ago, but I still find a charm in it.

The only spin-off I've played is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorer of Sky and ohmygosh I loved that game. I could gush about it for awhile and spending ridiculous amounts of time crawling through dungeons only to run into some horrible situation and kiss all my Revive Seeds goodbye... but it was always fun.

Oh, I'm also a fan of the Pokemon Special/Adventures Manga. I haven't read anything past the Emerald Arc but it was pretty awesome through and through... mostly. Looking at you, Celebii :l Anyone else read that manga?

PokeSpe! <3 It's the best, actually got me into the Pokemon games again! Of the main games, I've played Red, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black, and Black2! And only finished Black because I'm awful at grinding. Yep. For spin-offs, I finished Red Mystery Team, though! And got halfway through Colosseum! When I was little, my brother told me that Rui dies in the end and Wes takes her eyes... I actually believed him... Haaaaa...

The Last Airbender is this challenge where you're only allowed to use certain pokemon of a certain type because you're a waterbender or firebender or earthbender or whatever. So basically a solo-type run, except you are at war. And Puella Magi is just something I made up where you're a magical girl, your starter is your soul gem, you're only allowed one trip to the Pokemon center per trainer you defeat, and can't catch pokemon, you can only obtain in-game gift pokemon.
In other words, it's an excuse for me to roleplay.

I don't really watch the anime anymore but when I saw that N's going to appear I got ridiculously happy.

I've been a fan of Pokemon ever since it first came out and I have no intention of leaving the franchise any time soon, though I did stop watching the anime after a while and I got kind of burnt out on the franchise at Ruby for some reason before coming back with a vengeance when Diamond came out. I've never really read any of the manga aside from the first few issues of The Electric Tale of Pikachu.

In the main series, I have Red, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, FireRed, Diamond, HeartGold, Black, and Black 2 (My brother owned Blue, Silver, and Sapphire before jumping ship entirely). In terms of spinoffs, I have Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, Hey You Pikachu, Pokemon Snap (Why was there never a sequel to this!?), Pokemon Pinball, Pokemon Trading Card Game (For Game Boy), Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness, and Pokemon Conquest.

If you're wondering, my favorite Pokemon are Haunter, Scizor, Magnezone, Chandelure, Lucario, and Blaziken. I like Steel types. Does it show? I also think Sandshrew and Joltik are the most adorable Pokemon ever. Why is an electric spider/tick so cute?

I'm still playing Black 2 fairly regularly, so if anyone wants to trade or battle with me, give me a shout and I'll give you my friend code! Though not right away since I'm going to be leaving on vacation for a week tomorrow.

Is anyone participating in the Wireless VGC that's happening right now? I've been doing really well, but all the ragequit DCs are making me look distinctly more ordinary in the rankings (making my 14-6 into 6-6). If you see someone running a Spiritomb and an Arcanine it's probably me.

I've never participated in a tournament before, or even watched one, but I'm guessing my level 40-something team of random pokemon aren't going to cut it? The competitive part of me wants to actually bother with EV training while the lazy part of me goes "oh my god that thing is so cute you must catch it no matter what."
My team in Black 2 is Bijou (Oshawott), Marion (Ampharos), Ryouta (Unfezant), Victini, Zoroark, and Genesect, by the way! And I love how the producers at PokeStar Studios don't even bat an eye at your legendary robot bug!

I have played every single game in the main series at least twice, and when I'm really bored I restart leaf green or emerald since they were my favorites. Unfortunately, I lost my Crystal, Yellow, Blue(stolen) and Red versions. My uncle owned Silver and Gold so I never bothered to buy them. For spin-offs I have all of the Ranger games but haven't finished two of them, the Mystery Dungeon games that I loved (dammit Dialga, I'm going to beat you eventually!), Pokemon Snap (seriously, where is the sequel?), Stadium 1 and 2, and Colosseum.

My favorite pokemon are Bulbasaur, Gardevoir, Solosis, Swellow, Mienfoo, and I have a soft spot for Leafeon even though I never use it. I like pretty much all of the psychic types though, and I'm partial to fighting types too. I still haven't finished Black 2 because I got distracted by harvest moon but I'll get around to it~

And did I see someone mention PokeSpe? Because I love that manga. Sure I haven't read the D/P/Pl chapters and beyond, but I'll get around to it after I stop being so overwhelmed with other stuff to do first. Why can't I have a few clones of myself so that we could get everything I want to do done?

On the subject of the manga: Even though the B/W arc hasn't finished yet, I can't wait to see what's in store for B2W2 and what they're going to name Rosa and Nate~ The thought of kids actually being named Black2 and White2 amuses me to no end. And the Pokemon World Tournament is the perfect opportunity to bring to Kanto dex holders back.

All of my PokeSpe feels ;-; I'm going to end up re-reading the manga, aren't I? I should anyway since it's been nearly five years since I last read it.

I have played none of the games. I don't own any of them, either. I have, however, watched the anime. Up until Dawn showed up and then I couldn't stand the series anymore. I've seen a few of the movies (though I don't remember them by titles), I love talking about the games with my friends who HAVE played them, and I'm starting to read the Pokémon Special manga because it is badass.

My favourite Pokémon is Magikarp. I believe I have established this numerous times at this point.

Also, Jessie and James and Meowth will forever be my favourite characters from the anime. They were the best trio. The best trio.

I've played just about every non-spinoff Pokemon game there is, only three of which are mine.
My favourite Pokemon is Gardevoir, because it's pretty and powerful which is a rare combination.
Have any of you guys read the Magical Pokemon Journey manga? It was actually my first manga. It's ridiculous but so cute and many hours were spent fangirling over the cute romance and trying to duplicate the drawing style~

I played Red and Yellow. In the pokemon threads the pokemons have "natures". What the same hill? When did that become a thing?

I think they introduced natures in the third generation games (R/S/E) and LG/FR.

Weird Pokemon habits? Weird Pokemon habits! I only train female Pokemon and I give them mythological names. In my current team I have a Hippolyte, Circe and Alekto, for example.

Weird pokemon habits: I like making perish song centric teams, especially for doubles. So many people forget that it exists and don't know what to do to counter it. When they figure it out, my Wobuffet is already there smugly grinning at them.

I train males to get the Pokedex entry, but I can not bring myself to use them. It creates some very depressing situations.
I really like Tauros, but I can't keep him in my team. And trust me - I tried, but it drove me nuts. Genderless species are not a problem.

Hey, at least they fixed it so that female physical sweepers are no longer inherently at a disadvantage. That was some built in game sexism right there.

Finally finished the main storyline in Black 2! Yesssss! Now I can go back and be an even bigger movie star! Silver screen, here I come!

I nickname pretty much all of my non-legendary pokemon except Zorua because Zorua is already pretty cool and Volcarona because I don't know why. Normally I just pick whatever stupid name sounds cute at the time ("Romeow" and "Mewliet," "Antoinette," "Wubwubwub") though I do some runs with theme naming, too (Hetalia characters, Wicked characters, "Soul Gem" solo run).
Man, I remember back in Red when I filled my box entirely with Magikarp named MEW.

Gijinka are fun to design~ I drew around five before I have up. I was going to draw all of the pokemon but...yeah. I can't be expected to follow through on projects unless someone else tells me to.

Hmm, B2W2 was released less than a year ago, so I'd be surprised if they announced a new generation. Not unhappy, just surprised. A spinoff sounds more likely, though. Maybe a Pokemon Snap for the 3DS! <3

I don't know why, but I really want more Ranger games. The third one annoyed me, probably because of the lack of available men to add to harems write fanfiction about, but I still like the spinny-spinny.
