They don't usually announce spin-offs with lots of international hyping, though. The new Mystery Dungeon only got a small ad in a magazine, for example.

I am seriously terrified of Game Freak doing 3DS mainline games.

The DLC is going to be the worst.

$5 a pop for the old event Pokémon, count on it.

The moving sprites were annoying enough. And I just know I'll have to buy a 3DS just for the games. I mean, with my eyesight, I'll NEVER use the 3D. Although I don't know why I'm complaining since I have to buy a 3DS for the Layton series anyway.

Also the peripheral games usually aren't as hyped because they're not developed by GameFreak. Chunsoft does Mystery Dungeon and their ad budget generally isn't as large, if I'm remembering correctly.

Fire/Water and Fire/Steel. And Fire/Ice. And lots of bees. Beedog, Beever... they could make another Eevee-like pokémon, with bees! Bees! BEEEES~

A friend of mine suggested that maybe they're announcing that they've taken enough of our money so they're discontinuing Pokemon.
At first I thought "IT CAN'T BE TRUTH" but then I thought "Maybe now Ash will finally become a Pokemon Master."

I don't like the 3DS. I think adding 3D to a handheld console is a dumb idea and I'm skeptical that there's any games out right now that use the 3D feature in a way that makes the system worth buying. I want the announcement to be about anything that doesn't have to do with the 3DS.

Also, I think you'll all appreciate my shoes and a heads up that you too can have nerdy shoes if you have the cash.

The heel says Pkmn 071 for Victreebel and it's and the inside is lime green because purple=poison type and lime green=grass. The black and green guitar and skull print is because Victreebel is badass. Victreebel is my favorite non-starter pokemon and I wear these with the hi-top stuff folded over so the green shows and I love Victreebel guys.

As somebody who caved in and bought a 3DS thanks to Harvest Moon and Zero Escape, I'm not really against them announcing anything on the 3DS. I have no idea what time the Pokemon direct will be in my timezone but I'm pretty sure I'll miss it even if I did know because I always miss everything.

I'm not against them announcing a 3DS game; the 3DS is a fantastic platform.

I just dread Game Freak doing DLC.

Guys, Nintendo and the DS/i broke up a year or more ago and they've moved on. B2 and W2 were like a relationship relapse where you sleep with your ex because you're desperate but now they're back with the 3DS and it's not going to end anytime soon.

Characters aren't stuck on the squarey grid anymore, which I'm not sure whether is amazing or annoying, but...

But I think 3D is dumb, Jacquelle! I've never demo'd a game where the 3D wasn't just a dumb gimmick.

*Shrug* I don't like 3D in movies but I think it adds something to video games? It's at least quite pretty sometimes. And even if you always play with the 3D off it's still a greatly improved piece of hardware; the graphics are about GameCube level and you can switch between applications while keeping the game open and it's got a circle pad. You don't even know how much you hate the D-pad until you have a circle pad.

I love the water starter. The fire starter could turn out either way. I don't even know what the grass starter is supposed to be. It looks related to Wotter (I refuse to call it Oshawott, damnit).

First, I was thinking about Genetics, too. But maybe they're named after the X-axis and Y-axis? Because, you know, 3D and all. The 3rd Version would be Version Z, completing the 3D model.

And yeah, a 3DS game was more or less inevitable, considering how so many other big titles have already made their move their (Harvest Moon, Tales, Ace Attorney, etc)~ I like the 3DS graphics! The quality is great, and if you get a headache you can slide it off! And it has a circle pad! I love circles! My main complaint is that the place where you put the stylus when you're done isn't quite as convenient, but other than that, it's pretty nice.
And Face Raiders.

Why would anybody mention chimchar, why? I don't use the 3D feature at all because you have to be at an angle to be able to see it and it's annoying but I love the D-pad and I love being able to look up walkthroughs on my DS without having to turn the game off or get up and use the computer.

Oooh, nice! I wasn't getting my hopes up for another generation, let alone a 3D one, so I was really pleasantly surprised. I was a little iffy on the starter looks at first but they've grown on me. I think I'll need to see their final evolutions before I finally choose I want, though. Still, I admit being really pleasantly surprised when my Torchic eventually became a Blaziken (I'm really not a Combusken fan) in Gen 3 had its charm as well. Judging them solely off their first forms, I'd say I like Fennekin the most, though Chespin actually grew on me too. Sorry, Froakie. You're cool too. Froakie actually reminds me of Keroppi from the Sanrio merchandise line except with a bit more fabulous. I think it's the eyes.

The legendaries are awesome too. I'll take them both, thank you.

How is bringing more information to us annoying? If anything, you should post any news you see around on here :D I just realized how far away october is.

That's definitely not annoying, WilloWisper. It's always good to get new information! I wonder what they mean when they mention there will be a new battle structure. Do they just mean the better looking battles or have they actually changed how battles work in some way? The communication system sounds interesting too. I wonder what that'll be like.

Starter Pokemon confirmed to be (in order) Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting!

Wait, we're finally getting dual type starters? Or is that just the final evolution?
I wonder if we'll get evolution chains longer than 3, as well~ ^^
