I disagree with the others here. I still think it's worth playing through in single player a couple times.
Not usually a fan of the publisher packs, and obviously not much point if you went in on the Humble Bundle, but that THQ collection is a whole heap of gaming for $25/£20
Right on. I will wait for the three things I'm most interested in from it to hopefully appear on flash sales. Steam copies of the Titan Quest expansion and Supreme Commander + expansion. I own them all from forever ago but would like Steam copies because eww games on CD.
Wait now, I just automatically assume publisher packs are $60+, so I didn't notice the price. I don't have either Darkstriders games or any Warhammer 40k games (or Dawn of War II: Retribution, which I think is also one?). I don't have either Saints Row game, either, though I doubt I'll play them. But, maybe I would. I have most of the others. $25 [yes]/[no] ?
Well, it's got more than $25 worth of good games that you don't have. You'll have to make the decision yourself, though.
I'm tempted by Wargame: European Escalation, which is in the 75% sweet zone. I've so far refrained from buying anything though.
Interesting about the Gamespot review for that, the initial bad review being pulled as inaccurate but the positive followup not being picked up by Metacritic.
I threw my money away on Natural Selection 2. Turns out I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really don't like kids trying to micromanage me like I'm a mindless Starcraft unit.
Valve either decided to warm up slowly or said "to hell with giving these people great prices on great stuff." Farming Simulator? Doom 3? Airmech? Art Rage?!?! It's hard to believe there was much pent-up demand for most of this stuff.
Are they really doing a two-day rotation? Or is the timer just acknowledging that the featured games stay on sale for an extra 24 hours?
It looks like the Thanksgiving sale probably, where they give you new deals each day but each set is available for two. That was a pretty nice system. I kind of hate the flash deals, though. They're great news if you're trying to buy games but it means you have to check constantly. Amazon is offering deals right now as well, some of them excellent. Both Darksiders games and I think all of the DS2 DLC for $13.50 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1446274002&pf_rd_i=979455011
Silo 2 is also on sale, albeit only 20% off. The price through Steam is already way lower than the regular price for the software, though--$59, vs. $159 via the Nevercenter website.
A few months ago I entered the CD-key for my boxed copy of Supreme Commander 1 into Steam and it accepted it. It also added Forged Alliance to my games list too at the same time without me needing to enter the CD-key for that. I was very surprised when that happened. Give it a try :)
I'm guessing you haven't tried ArtRage, because it's a pretty rad natural media painting program with an outstanding interface. You need a tablet to see it at its best, but at that price the Studio version is a steal.
Yeah, ArtRage is one of the better painting programs out there. I prefer its simple UI to that of Frankenstein programs like Painter.
No, I have the artistic skill of the average three year old. Good to know it's a quality program, though. But it's not a game.
It isn't advertised on the front page, but Orcs Must Die 2 is on sale for $7.50. It's totally worth that price.
I'm not sure I can agree. I got it for $3.74 in the fall sale and honestly I'm underwhelmed. I don't like the mine levels as much and it just feels really, really "samey" to me. I suppose I've gotten $2.74 worth of play out of it but I kind of want that other dollar back. I wish I had just left it at OMD 1 which I really loved. [EDIT] OMD 1 is on sale for $5 so my recommendation would be to buy that first. http://store.steampowered.com/app/102600/ [OMGEDIT] And now OMD1 is $2.49. Steam changes prices so fast you need a Quantum internet to keep up. O_o
The newest flash deals (a little over 6.5 hours left as I write this) are: Airmech Steam Starter Pack $2.49 (75% off) I Am Alive $5.09 (66% off). Farming Simulator 2013 $14.99 (50% off). Combine this with GamersGate's current deal on Agricultural Simulator 2012 and satisfy all your farming needs! The next Community Choice game is Forge, which goes on sale in about 30 minutes.
GiantBomb quick look for Farming Simulator 2013. My favorite part was using the racing wheel peripheral to drive the farmer.
I know. I'm pretty good until things hit the $3.00 - $4.00 range; at that point my discipline breaks down. The upshot is that, net, I rarely spend more than $15-$20 on Steam sales, so it's not all that bad. This year may be the exception since I've been planning on purchasing Dark Souls; that'll probably add at least $15 but that's not really an impulse buy either.
So, uh, is I Am Alive worth $5? It was on a few people's "Worst Buy of the Year" list over in the other thread.
