From what I remember hearing, it's pretty decent until the end, which is so bad as to render the rest worthless.
So, Darksiders II is in today's lot of mostly "meh." I've got the base game -- is any of the DLC worth picking up?
The new daily deals for December 21 are up: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier - Standard $14.99 (50% off). Other Clancy stuff is 31-75% off. Darksiders Franchise Pack (includes 1 and 2) is $13.59 Psychonauts $2.49 (75% off). SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition $4.99 (75% off). Fear collection (1, 2, 3) $13.71 (75% off). Dishonored $29.99 (50% off). EDIT: Fixed mistakes. I blame Gabe.
It's really weird to see games like Mirror's Edge and Company of Heroes go for € 2.50-3.50 when 11 year old games like Red Faction are € 4.99 even after sale discount.
I was hoping for Dishonored...cheaper. Sleeping Dogs is EXCELLENT though and I'm sure will hit at $7.50, since it's been pretty deeply discounted already in the past.
Dishonored is a AAA game that just came out what, two months ago? It's really worth $30 if you're interested in it to begin with.
Sooooo tempted by Dishonored. I really want it but I have so many games to play. I have no idea when I'd get to it.
You'd get to it immediately because it's better than anything else you're playing unless you're playing Kerbal Space Program. :D
How is that not an error? You get Darksiders 2 plus all its DLC plus the first game --for $3.50 less than just buying Darksiders 2?
If you guys already have Darksiders 2 and are looking to buy the Darksiders franchise pack to get the DLC cheaper (about $5 cheaper), buy it on Amazon where you can retain your keys for the main games. On Steam those extra copies will disappear. $13.19 on Amazon $13.59 on Steam (and lose extra copies)
I love Wargame and consider it one of my GOTYs, but the sequel, Wargame: AirLand Battle, comes out in like four months (March/April 2013). You might as well wait until then. :D
My backlog has turned me into such a sale snob. Darksiders franchise $14? I only want to play Darksiders 2, and I can wait till its under $10.
I'm just looking at games that are on sale for a nice price (I will of course wait to see if they'll go down further) and trying some demos... how is Disciples 3? I think I had 2 on GMG at one point but could make head nor tail out of it since it didn't have a tutorial.
Great. Now if I don't get $25 out of it I can't blame internet peoples. I'm not responsible enough to exist in a world with Steam sales in it.
They're probably going to be very different gameplay experiences (being that the new SC is being pitched as more a re-imagining of the series rather than a direct sequel), so I wouldn't expect SC5 to outright replace SC4. SC4 is still worth it (I've been playing my physical copy a lot these last few weeks, and just picked up the Steam deal today so I could finally ditch my discs after almost ten years of lugging the things around). I've been playing vanilla (with expansion), so I have no idea if the Steam copy functions with any of the billions of player mods etc out there. But it still plays great as far as I'm concerned. It's a bit heavy on the numbers and charts for some tastes though (which is why they're making more of a remake than a sequel), but if you don't mind being bogged down in spreadhseets late in the game on larger maps, then this could work out well for you. There are difficulty settings to ease the amount of number tweaking you need to bother with too. Oh, one thing about SC4 though, in order to run the game at modern & wide screen resolutions, you'll need to add some stuff to the command line for the game (source): To do this for the Steam install, you can: Right click the game name in your Steam Library Choose "Properties" Click "Set Launch Options" in the first tab Paste in -CustomResolution:enabled -r1280x720x32 Be sure to set the resolution to what you need
Disciples 3 is ok, but 2 is definitely much much better. I can try to dig up a set of post I did to help people learn Disciples 1 years ago (2 is pretty similar, 3 is a radical departure).
I think I've traded it back in, so don't bother trying to dig up old posts just for me. I believe it was a stand alone addon or something like that, it didn't come with a tutorial or anything. Thanks for the offer though, that's very kind :)
I know. Is there any chance at all it will go lower?? I want to go for it but I'll be so mad if later in the week its less. Decisions decisions
2 vs AI , and 2 v 2 online it seems, i mostly want to fight the retarded AI with friends . :p it is F2P , i just got the DLC stuffs to avoid some of the grind, they pretty much sold $60 of dlc and unlocks for $12.50. Saved myself probably 40 hours of grinding to unlock all the units.
Linn It really doesn't get lower than daily deal or flash sale low, I don't think. Pretty tempted to get that myself.
No worries, it was a 1 minute search to find it, I'm just so happy that something I did in 2002 may still be useful to someone someday. If anyone is thinking about Disciples 1 (at GOG) or 2 (many places) here's a little post I made about getting started: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=793433&hilit=disciples knight
