Well, Artorias is down, but Kalameet and Manus remain, though all shortcuts are open, bonfires lit and kindled.

I should be lurking around Manus tonight (Pacific, level uh ... dang. 71 maybe? on the PC) if all goes well. I'm currently at the entrance to the Abyss bonfire.

This seems like the proper thread for collecting Steam IDs for the BF Dark Souls crowd. Add me on Steam so I can nag you with dumb questions or desperately summon assistance!

Mine is lizard_king7 on steam and LIZRDKNG on xbl. I can really only play on Fridays or weekends, these days, but am more than happy to help or commiserate otherwise during the week. If we get enough it wouldn't hurt to make a new thread with them and sticky that sumbitch. I've tried to get this sort of thing going before to a resounding multiplayer fart sound, so who knows. Perhaps the BF steam group makes this obsolete.

I'd be quite cool with joining a BF (and invited friends) Dark Souls steam group. Mine's Qorgyle.

I think GFWL messages are probably preferable to Steam messages at least for initial contact because they'll pop up while you're in-game.

I had not thought of that. I am sinfonys on XBL.

My steam messages work in-game, but I guess that's not the case if you're playing in fullscreen mode.

I put a sign up in front of Manus' gate.

I have all the overlays turned off. They just cause too much unpredictable trouble. :(

Edit: isn't there a bonfire closer to Manus? Hmm.

Hmm, I just saw a GFWL message popup in the corner. Maybe it's not disabled after all.

I was down in blight town and ran Quelaag as a phantom with Garoun and as I get back to my world I see the summoning message even though I haven't summoned anyone. I messaged the guy and said I wasn't doing the boss and saying how did you get in here because I didn't summon you and here is how he responded:

No. That's awful. It even sounds awful as "forceful coop". There's no upside whatsoever to that kind of conduct, and it's not as much a "trick" as it is a malicious exploit relative to the rules of the game.

That is really annoying. Is there anything a "forcefulcoop" can do to muck up your game? Does that prevent you from resting at a bonfire?

I don't have any idea how he triggered it intentionally if he wasn't just messing with you, but there's a well-known glitch that causes players to occasionally spawn as the wrong kind of phantom--for instance white instead of red, as may have happened here.

It'll definitely do that, but probably nothing else that's more than mildly annoying. Well, I guess they could also troll you by spawning and just not doing anything, thereby reducing the number of helpful phantoms you can summon by one.

Yes it can. Can you separation crystal co-op players?

BTW, the same guy did this to me twice. He was nice enough to leave both times when I asked but obviously not everyone would be that way.
